  • i have a 91 gsr 4g93t an runs standard 10psi but when i race it can be turned up 18psi without over boosting an runs fine...go the gsr

  • hey my gsr boost on 0,8 bar but in the fourth gear and the fifth goes to 1,2 bar.. i have got a boost controler..intercooler and i have put a big oil cooler.. is it too much for the engine boost???should i decrease it???i have just bought the car.. thanks:)

  • my 92 gsr runs 15psi and has standard engine and turbo but bigger exhaust with dumpy..everyone always asks y its so high wen people are running round or 8-10psi and thinking thats really good lol

  • @jaydeebaybee05 Yeah you don't want to push them past 14psi on stock internals lol... I had it at 13 for a while and was going good. Sold this car ages ago tho.

  • are these engines better than the 4g63t?

  • No, the 4g63t's are what the evos use and are 2.0L, while 4g93's are 1.8L.

  • @GrantLovesMusic ALSO, the 4G94 of the lancer OZ 2002 and 2003, are a 2.0L, and can be also made turbo, except that the 4G94 turbo manifold is difficult to find, or is better to create a custom one. Thanks.

  • Yeah it did struggle to get to 10psi, duno why, I'd just put it down to the age of the engine. Stock is 10psi. I got a new exhaust/intake/intercooler now and it's steady at 12psi through most of the rev range.

  • well it would be close to leaning out to be running 12psi stock only a little 4g93 you'd have to have you exhaust and airfilter done. factory boost is round 7 - 9 dumpy? or you talking bout a externals wastey and screamer? the spring rating in the external has a pressure rating for amount of boost you require. running a straight screamer of factory wastegate is stupid and sound silly as they're only 28mm

  • I've got a libero gt also.. they do run 12psi stock standard. So if i weld togather a custom down pipe, split the end from the internal and the exhaust and weld a straight pipe to the internal one and make it dump right into the atmosphere.. that would increase boost right?

  • i'll double check in the workshop manual at work tommorow. what type boost gauge you running? those autogauge one's are always out of calibration,Autometer are pretty good tho.

  • Where abouts to you work? Keen to check out your evo aye. And shot for sticking up for the mitsi 4G's. Yea the GSR boosts 10 standard but the face lift liberos boost 12.. you know the ones wif the evo fronts and that. Haha my car doesn't even have a boost gauge.. My car is so standard i always say "i'll give you 20bux if you could find a aftermarket part"..

  • owell you need 20psi to move those old big hunks of shit .. but i have to say i've owned a r32 when they were cool back in 2000 now they're used in demolition derbys, you can pick up a gtst for under 1g or an r32 gtr for round 6g to 8g

  • ive never seen a gtst in a demo durby except for tyre demo durby. take your homo gsr running your $2 boost tap and your rangy pod filter back to gore or where ever youre from.

  • if your exaust and airfilter 15psi is ok and sounds mean with an external wastey. at 15 psi you only using 90% flow rate through the 390cc injectors

I've got a GT Libero and its completely stock.. i've heard that they run 12psi stock.. i want a dumpie for it but i've been told that dumpies actually increase boost.. how does it do that and if the boost is increased wouldnt it run a weak big end that the 4g93z are known for?
