  • Bulleh Shah, in my humble opinion, is the greatest poet and philosopher of the last 1300 years. He had the courage to write against the caste system that had illegally crept into Islam, which clearly says that every body is equal, regardless of caste, color, religion, nationality, economic status, ancestry, gender, etc. He being a Syed (considered by the misguided to be superior to other humans) wrote repeatedly that he was the disciple of Shah Inayat, who was an Arraeen, (non-syed) the tillers

  • God will bless you with all his happiness, you are great

  • awesum yaar

  • LEJLEJ O HALID BRAVO BRACOO DILIA SAN

  • People think attaining happiness of master is easy but it is very.... difficult...(lokan bhane ishk sukhala eh iskh ni...)

People consider him ordinary man but for me he is most holy or precious thing(lokan bhaye chak mahi da mere bha da makka kurey).

At the end baba bulle shah says that he has seen the truth that his master is GOD (pakka Guru)...(Bulle shah sach kar jaata.shah inayat gur pakka kure)

"Birha birha aakhiae birha tu sultaan"

  • thank u!

  • God Bless you....

  • A humble attempt:

Kalam by baba bulle shah considering himself a girl(heer) and her master Shah Inayat as lover(ranjha)

[Worldly love between two famous lovers is used as a analogy to give a glimplse of limitless love between a disciple(soul) and his/her master(GOD)]

By following the divine path (nau lakha charkha), my master have bestowed me with his love.(mera eh charkha nau lakha kure...)

  • This guy is absolutely awesome, thanks to whoever did the translation.I will really enjoy it now even more.

may you have a long life my friend!

  • Wonderful and thank you. It is quite deep Punjabi. I may claim to know Punjabi but I can not make all the words.

These writers in the Sufi era were people as close to God as you can get and wrote unabashed through simplicity.

Anyone can make things complex only a genius makes things simple.

Just a little rant but wonderful contributions from people out of West Punjab plus Pakistan as there are incredible gems of folk singing from these regions and may God keep this going.

    Thanks again.

  • awesome. man im just speechless

  • well,we dont realy need to understand the words...its just touching deep in soul anyway..lovely!

  • I wish some one give brief description of what he song translation would be better.

  • See my translation attempt on following pages...

  • loving this, very good!!!!

  • Actually in pakistan we have at least dozen distinct dialects of punjabi speech.

  • what is the language he is singing in, it isnt urdu or punjabi or sindhi, is it some sort of a local dialect, someone with the knowhow please reply

  • It is Punjabi...song's originally by Sufi saint BullehShah who was punjabi

  • Who is this singer?

    I love Bulley Shah etc

  • Saien Muhammad Ali, read the introduction about the video :)

  • Thank you very much for posting this video, and thanks to the lahori who posted a transliteration of the lyrics with a translation in lyrics. from a very appreciative Indian.

    :-)

  • Love the music and think he's handsome too!

  • What is he saying?Sounds nice ,someone please translate the main part.

  • 1. "Maira aye charKha naoN laKha kuRey"

"My existence is priceless" (Here charKha - a yarn spinning wheel - is used as a symbol of life and one's experience through life)

    2. "NeuN katdi katdi pakka kuRey"

Matured and nurtured by my good deeds, devotion and love of divine.

    3. "MeiN tey mang RanjheN di hoi aN"

I've given myself to the divine

    4. "Mera babul karda aye dhakka kurey"

But people force me to abandon my love of divine

  • 5. "LokaN bhaNey chaak mahiN da"

For others, Ranjha is only a meager servant

    6. "Mairey paa da Makkah kurey"

For me he is my Mecca

    7. "LokaN bhaNey ishq soKhala"

People think to love is easy

    8. "Aye ishq nahiN chaDda phakka kuRey"

This love of the divine destroys everything and leaves nothing behind

  • Thanks so much for transliteration

  • thanks alot bro-makes lot of sense now!!

btw what do the words Neun Katdi Katdi mean if you were to translate word by word. Also what does Kurey mean ??

  • NeuN = Love, act of falling in love

Katdi = To spin cotton into yarn

Pakka = To mature, to ripen

    Loosely translated:

"Matured while spinning yarn of love"

  • KuRey = To address a young woman (Like "hey you")

  • Beautifully translated...thanks. same message in present kalam as " Chirankal yehe Deh Sanjariya....Mil Govind Milan ki teri variya, Aur Kaaj tere kithe naa Kam....Mil Sadh Sang( Pooran Murshid) Bhaj Kewal Naam (Meditation) (Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji Maharaj) . Dhan hein Shah Inayat, who blessed Sain Bulle Shah with that divine love & permitted him to share the feelings of a helpless lover with common people like us. May Kamil Murshid bless every one with that LOVE.

  • 9. "Bulleh Shah naiN sach kar jata"

    Bulleh Shah realized the truth

    10. "Maira Shah Anayet guru pakka kuRey"

Shah Anayet is indeed my true spiritual leader (Guru)

  • kya baat hai

  • got tears in my eyes while listening this Kalam of Baba jee..bhulle Shah does magic with his words......:)

  • thanx Almighty he doesn't look an'extremist' like u. And besides, he didn't make his surat himself. My advice: 'better not to comment on Almighty's creations'

  • fantastic

  • Wow ... At University I was woken at 3am by 2 Sikh Sardaar student dancing to Bulleh Shahs Kalaam. I thought WHAT!!!. I got dressed then spent the dawn enjoying their religous discourses. Its a shame that the extremists have ruined these friendships. If only a saint like Bulleh Shah could come to the UK & stop all this hatred of the wahabi's. Thank you. I enjoyed this very much.

  • sikhs are really clos to islam it'slike tasawaf we follow sheikh and they follow guru baba bulleh shah declared one of there guru teg bahaur ji as ghazi when he was murdeered by mughals

  • lol.. I am Sikh and my family does that a lot. Baba Bulleh Shahs teachings are followed in Sikhism..so we know all of these. Actually my grandmother was telling me that when they used to sit in "thirinjanaan" they would sing this song while on the charkha. Pretty cool!

  • @princesspunjabi ,,, I am from Pakistan but originally my parents were from Moga city, my father always used to talk about his Sikh friends and his birth place in Moga, my Dadi was from a village Rama Balaspur near Moga

, my father used to sing Kalam of Baba Bulleh Shah, Baba Fareed, Waris Shah, Baba Guru Nanak and other Punjabi poets,,,, Tahir from Canada

  • dis is de music, we have been missing, hope it doesnt fade away unfortunetly this part of our culture seems to be fading
