@Ydouneed2nomyname metal models are verry easy to strip. they are entirely imune to most of the corrosive substances like terpentine or nailpolish and will survife any stipping with no demage to them.
@Ydouneed2nomyname just use, revel airbrush cleaner. strips the most casting materials without damaging them. super glue and nearly all puttys aren't harmed to
@Ydouneed2nomyname exactly. some kinds of resin may be problematic, would recommend some tests with spare parts to be sure. But the forge world resin and the gw plastic are not effected... didn't test the new fine cast though.
du kommst ja aus deutschland oder? wieso bist du eig. auf die idee gekommen deine videos in englisch zu machen? (Also ich denke wegen dem größerem Publikum oder?)
I've seen this done many times with an airbrush but I wonder would it be possible to do using blues or any other colors with a regular paintbrush and if so is it like the nmm style?
Always make sure the tape is completely down against the blade. Paint from the airbrush will sneak into a bump in the tape and ruin the other half of the blade with ease. Also, if you are going to do non-metallic metal airbrushing (essentially what is shown here), you will want to go from white to black/dark color+black. Like a blue non-metallic blade will transition from white, to ice blue, to regal blue, then black or black/regal blue mix. The other half of the blade should be going
in the opposite direction. On the other side of the blade (the BACK), you will want to go in the same direction as its respective opposite side of the half.
if you live in Australia a good product to use is simple green its a high strength cleaner making it a low strength pain stripper :) works on all from plastic to metal and finecast
Tamiya makes an excellent tape for models, it comes in many thicknesses and is found in any hobby store. Also blue painters tape is acceptable and somewhat cheaper.
@Bigsp4 Non-acetone nail varnish remover does not damage GW plastics. If you want to strip plastics with nail varnish remover be sure it says Non-acetone or acetone free.
Great vid Alexandra.. One question.. can the tape sometimes take off the paint on the first painted side, when you cover it to paint the second side.?
Genau dafür liebe ich meine Airbrush. In wenigen Sekunden hat man einen Effekt dupliziert, der mit dem Pinsel ewig dauert :-) Welche Airbrush benutzt Du denn genau?
I find the normal acetone very good and cheap to buy from hardware store. I think nailpolisher is expensiver and they are same stuff.

So you've said it won't damage plastic on a short stroke, but can you strip an entire metal model in nail polish remover by soaking it?

@Boodmaster21 this includes plastic and resin right? If so, that sounds like a good idea. Thanks. I'll look into this.

@Boodmaster21 alright thanks! Does this work with other kinds of paint like oils and enamels?

@inspiredprophet it depends on the stickyness of the tape. there are special masking tapes for airbrush work on the market.
