HELL YEAH.....OB REPRESENT......... I remember once when we were kids.... we sent him in to buy us wine coolers.....and he came back out with a bottle of wine and a 2-liter of 7/up........ kind of wierd.... but we did get wasted regardless LOL ...... RIP SPACEMAN!!!!
I met Spacemen in his home overlooking Sunset Cliffs around 1970/71. My fiends mom was doing an interview for a local newspaper. Via a little ceremony, Spaceman inducted my friend and I into a special "space club". He issued us cards which we had to have to get on the 2 spaceships waiting on the other side of the moon for the end of civilization. Nice guy and incredible art. Wish I could have obtain one as they were not only futuristic, but beautiful as well. Sorry to hear of his passing.
Damn, I miss the spaceman. I still have one of his paintings that he gave me of his "cosmic art" masterpieces. He wrote a book, too. A spaceman classic of tales of daring escapes from a Mexican prison and all sorts of great stories.
I have some of his art for the alte 70s before he went blind. Nice to find out a little something about this guy. I've had the landscape scenes for about 10yrs now in my music studio up in Ramona...and didn't even know he was a musician. Now I could never take them down!
I once knew Clint (Spaceman) in the mid 80's in Ocean Beach (OB). I lived on Sunset Cliffs Blvd. and he used to visit with us.
He was/is an amazing man! A talented artist and a superb musician.
Marc T., I know exactly what your talking about. He used to give us a number too, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Clint was/is a special individual and he was fun to talk to.
i knew spaceman personally....i miss him,....he was a great guy, and an interesting character too. i had several of his later pieces, after he was blind. gave them to us street kids for food
When I was about 15, as a surfer in O.B., I met space man, and I think he had a trombone and gathered us all together and gave us a number in case the space guys picked us up. I still remember the number: W2103. That's a true story. Marc Trainor.

Thanks for the update whoever you are. I hate to hear he's gone, but as you know, he'll never ever be forgotten.
I miss OB alot. Maybe I'll come back there to live someday. I'm a San Diego native and I've lost my way.
