  • Shortlines are just pushed to the side. Depending on what CP, CN and BNSF brings to them will determine if shorelines will run freq. or not and the customers.

  • Some of the roads died when BC RAIL and E&N railroads died. THe only major lines is the BC RAIL port sub, CP Cascade Sub and CN Yale Sub that service Roberts Bank.

  • When I Was Riding SRY #381, We Where Coming Up To The Road Blasting The Horn, Some Person Didn't Realize That We Just Hit The Road And Almost Smoked Her, She Was One Lucky person. The Engineer Actually Jumped Out Of His Seat To see If We Hit Here. That Was The Thrill Of A Lifetime!

  • Dog doesnt like the P5 horn

  • Just so you know why the trains are short in this section. This is at the top of one of the steepest railway hills in North America. It is not uncommon to see 3-4 engines for a 30 car train.

  • Correction top of the hill is 92nd ave

  • Sweet!!!

  • Why does SRY like similar to Montana rail link?

  • Because SRY is owned by the Washington Group, same as MRL.

  • wow!!! how much du trains run on this route??

  • I guess several trains a day use the route but they're not long ones. Some interest groups really want this route to be used for passenger services as it goes through some populated areas.

  • this is in newton a few blocks from cosco, right?

  • why does this route restrict long trains with high capacities? I just keep seeing short ones.

  • AAAA.012221Z JUN 2008 I like this video you did well there keep it up.......AR.

  • I would say SRY is still doing pretty well. They usually have a lot more cars coming back westbound. In a good week trains are often 10-20 cars eastbound and 15-30 cars westbound. Over the last year I've seen westbound trains with as much as 56 cars and caboose pulled by sometimes as many as 5 or 6 locomotives.

  • sry rocks --- anyway BCH still owns the track - SRY leases the freight rights

  • oh and that isnt a good example of train length haha.

  • In regards to your "It's hard to say how long this line will stay in service" comment I will say it will be around for a long, long time, if it can withstand over 100 years of service it can withstand these good economic times in which railways havent experienced such an insurgance in traffic since before the invention of the car.

  • I really hope you're right but about 5 or 6 miles away in the area called Cloverdale, they've already ripped up several miles of this line. This line unfortunately doesn't go completely through any more. I'm going to be posting another video in the next couple of weeks of the various line that have been torn up. Lets hope the trend doesn't continue!

  • thats because the highway 10 project forced the rail line to be realigned so they could widen the highway, our line still goes all the way to chilliwack still, dont worry, haha trust me, I work for SRY and were running strong still.

  • what is the importance of this line anyways if only trains with a lower capacity use it and it goes through concealed areas.

  • Actually I saw a train going through here a couple of weeks ago carrying around 40 cars. I'm not sure of the importance of the line but it serves numerous industrial areas. A lot of people would like to see the line used for commuter rail though.

  • Yah when i was driving through cloverdale, a railway historic society wants to electrify the line so that trolleys could run on it. I doubt it is the main line , it could be a industrial side track. Do you think?
