When hitting on the front row, he uses a much more old style or beach style of hitting. He gathers all of his momentum and jumps straight up and hits at the peak of his reach; as opposed to broad jumping like most indoor hitters. This guy also has a complete game in terms of ball control. I always hoped he would transition to the beach at some point in the 2000's, but it wasn't meant to be.
Giba is not the highest jumper out there, but he is the smartest hitter. He touches probably around 350, which is average, but he still kills it. Look at his approach on the first kill of the clip, he makes it look like nothing.
Giba doesnt touch 325cm he spikes at that height. he deffinatly touches more than 325. i can touch 310 thats 15 cm difference which isnt a lot and my spikes arent anywhere near as high as his. Giba is just awesome

k must make you an expert... those are measured. in game your adrenaline, well not just adrenaline, but your whole endocrine system are working to maximize your performance... most people, im gonna guess olympians like giba who are faced against other olympians get an adrenaline boost when playing games thus equaling a higher vertical than the previous measured vertical...
so do the math whats the veritcal? cant say he doesnt jump high if you didnt do the math... maybe you just jump pretty high and dont know it.. olympians are probably not the best people to try to downsize as they are the best in the world.. especially the mvp...
i am not saying that like, he doesnt jump high. im comparing him to other athletes that play in his leagues. Most jump around the same or higher than him. But he is still the best so it doesnt really matter
Well, back in the day they also measured how high they could jump and on the cuban national team everyone touched 360 except one that touched 370. my dad was the national team head coach and he usually made the guy that took care of the equipment write up numbers that he made up...
he is the best in the world but he actually doesnt jump high. If you do some research on him his spike reach is just about 323. Im only 15, and 1 cm taller than giba and i touch 318. There is always room for me to gain verticle tho. His timing and form is just amazing though so it all makes up for it

If you play vball, are talling than Giba and jump just as high as him at at JUST 15 (maybe someday even higher) then you are well on your way to being one of the best, if not the best ever.
On the other hand, if you're THAT tall and can jump THAT high at ONLY 15, and you still don't get a scholarship for Vball to a good college, you just plain can't pick up vball for shit and should give up.
Like GIBA, I am not a very tall player but the way he plays, gives me an inspiration. He jumps so high like flying and his reflexes are very fast. He's good in blocking and digs which surprises me a lot because he's blocking really really tall players. MORE power to GIBA!
