  • Thanks for posting. But let's give Freddie Green credit, too. I am sure I can hear him in the rhythm section. Wonderful album!

  • I've always viewed this as one of Lester's final statements of the decade. He proved he still had what it took to be a top tenor. No, his sound may not have been what it was in the 30's 40's, but who's is? A tone much like a wine can often get better with time. Lester proved he was that bottle of wine in so many ways.

  • I'd love to hear the whole album! This is wonderful.

  • Lester Young due to alcoholism probably wasn't as consistent as he was in the 30s and 40s but he was still capable of producing excellent albums as this track from the Jazz Giants '56 album clearly shows.

    Lester's play which I love is until 1940's.

    However, I am very bright when this performance considers the time called 1956.

    Perhaps the musician who acted in the same play would be only reliable people.

    It will be a thing by the environment that Lester was able to be relaxed.
