  • This was created by the Bic Lighter company as the tail end of what would start off as a "No Smoking" policy trailer. There were many variations, usually involving two Bic lighters "talking" to each other, then the "No Smoking" title card, and then the Prevues intro. Many theatres ultimately cut the Bic material off and just used the Coming Attractions portion, as this particular snipe demonstrates.

  • Is there a full version of this song anywhere? If so, where can I find it?

  • Keith Mansfield is the greatest for these old movie bumpers :D

  • The music is "Destiny", by our old friend Mr. Keith Mansfield.

  • @TServo2049 I was looking for this background music for a long time, about two years ago, and now you gave me a light. Thank you for sharing this information!

  • @TServo2049 Thanks!! :D

  • Movies and great memories. Thanks a million for posting this!

  • I have always hated the coming attractions. I can remember this music too.

  • A part of this sound track was used for a Canadian theatre chain's "Coming Attractions" ad, Famous Players Theatres in the 70's.

  • Ah, that's the one! I've been searching through policy trailers/theater bumpers galore looking for it.

This was screened throughout the early '80s by an independently owned multiplex in the small town I grew up in.

I think their version may also have been the black-background one that, as others have mentioned, can be partially seen in "Grindhouse."

I always loved the fanfare music. Nice.

  • That's also the music MGM/UA Home Video used for their "Coming Atraction" opening sequence...anyone remember that bumper or have more info about that piece of music?

  • The ITC Film Distributors logo also had that music at the beginning.

  • the grindhouse version had a black background

  • Man oh man, that's awesome!! Where can I get this trailer on 35mm?

  • this was seen on the movie "Grindhouse" before Edgar Wrights "Don't" faux trailer.

  • This is the bumper I remember seeing at the drive-in when I was a kid. I was wondering if anyone on YouTube would post it. Many thanks. Peace & safety to you & yours!
