In FFXIII, you can actually deal 999,999 damage in a single hit (given that the enemy is Staggered: 999.9% with debuffs on and your character has buffs on as well).

You have to wear a Genji Glove to actually break the 99,999 damage limit. It's pretty crazy, but you can't pull it off that often (not worth the effort either really).

...actually, there are ALOT of enemies with above 1 million hp in that game.

In fact, Vercingetorix has over 15 million hp :P (Mark 64). I believe that the only times you should actually use the Genji Glove is when you Stagger enemies, since you can potentially increase your damage tenfold.

You should look up the "Long Gui" fight here on YouTube. It's the most challenging enemy in Final Fantasy XIII, and you REALLY need damage output to take it down.

@GriefJerky O_o guess you're right... Why would they make the hp so high? If the enemies have more hp, but you deal more too, what's the point? Why not just stick with the 9999 limit? It makes the battle more easy to oversee when you have less hp.

It's entirely because of the game's "Stagger" system. Even if you have insane stats, you might deal crap damage if the boss is (for instance) Resistant towards physical attacks. Also, when you manage to fill up the Stagger gauge, several passive abilities that you have take into effect, and sometimes the enemy actually loses resistances and such.

Another reason for their high hp is to make the fights more challenging :)

onion knight only good if your character in lvl 99

at lvl 10 is 7 to all atributes

at lvl 20 is 8 to all atributes

at lvl 30 is 9 to all atributes

then until lvl 99 all artibutes goes to 99..

Onion armor is the best armor in the game, in the original Final Fantasy 3, it gave you 9999 health, and Dark cloud only rarely hit 500s on you.

Onion Knight is the strongest job in the game, once you get to lv99. Not job level just your regular level. They get max stats, ability to equip the best armor in the game, and access to almost all the spells in the game.

Your right about everything you said but the higher your job level is the more damage you can do. I just hate that it alwasy comes up as 9999 damage but your actually hitting higher so i can't rly tell when im going to win fights lol.

The only time where I cannot interpret 9,999 as being 10,000 is when I played FF2 Soul of Rebirth against Lucifer. But then, it's highly unlikely that an attack that comes up as 9,999 damage has dealt exactly 9,999 damage. My discrepancy record is in FF3, against Ahriman where I used Jump against it, it came up as 9,999 but I actually dealt 60,000+ damage.

You can do more than 9999 damage, just 9999 damage is the most that appears on the screen.

Case in point, I killed Bahamut in one hit from my 99/99 Black Belt.

Besides, your original comment was about a single hit. Anima deals multiple hits. You can reach the 500,000 damage with a single hit on FF III though. (By single and multiple hit, I mean the number of times the numerical damage is shown on screen. FF III = once. FF X = more than once.)

To get OK, Get a Friend and Send 7 messages to him.. (what 7? 7 hours too?) trick is adjust DS time by one hour and that is when you can convert 7 hours to 15 minutes =P

I beat him..^^ check it out, in my channel... its bad quality but at least i have proof not like the others... im doing another run for 9999 HP so wish me luck! ^_^

I actually thought FFIV(DS) was the easiest version FFIV of FFIV to date. I mean I didn't even have to grind level at all compared to the older versions. Even the first time through was super easy, the augment system just made it even easier.

Onion knights are nice but they have such low stats. But when they hit level 99 they are the ultimate job to have. The can use black and white magic and wield almost every weapon. I would not reccomend an onion knight below level 97

You have to find the AR code for sending mail to other players, then you can exchange mail with all the the characters like princess and four men, and in the end you should be able to unlock this dungeon. Go on "neoseeker" and look for AR codes for FF3, and then around the web, you'll get both this dungeon and onion knigh job (unless you already have friends that can play online with, in this case the AR code is useless, just send 7 mail with them and then you can exchange mail with the NPCs).

Basically, Onion Knight when your level 40ish sucks bad, but when you get it to over 70, it starts getting good. When your character goes to lv 99, All your stats are maxed. Problem is, is that Onion Knight can't summon =(
