grande match Gilmar goal keeper agarrou 2 penalty, Sir Stanley Matthews acabou com Nilton Santos, coisa rara, igual a Stanley só Garrincha, e Stanley tinha 40 years
@alquiora: You might have seen this below, but I saw TT play several times for both Utd. & Eng. Taylor almost certainly had the ability & the impact as a Drake-mould No.9 to be one of the England all-timers, but his career was so tragically cut short.
@TheLegendfamily You are very lucky to have seen him played for several times. I bet if he survived he would have become one of the greatest alongside Utd legend Sir Bobby Charlton!
@alquiora: Difficult to compare Sir Bobby to Taylor since Bobby played first as mostly a left-winger & then as an AM. But, Taylor definitely should have one on to become one of the true greats for both Utd. & Eng. Are you trying to dig up more info on Taylor, alquiora?
@alquiora: Remember that both Ayteo & Taylor didn't simply bang the ball into the back of the net. They were both old-fashioned, Drake-mould No.9s who were expected to hold the ball up, act as a target-man in forward positions, win aerial duels, etc., & both of them were VERY good at their jobs.
Taylor and Atyeo causing all sorts of ariel problems. Great play from Matthews and Haynes with Edwards and Wright at the back. What a great side we had.
I actually saw this match @ Wembley back in the spring of '56. Matthews, Grainger, & Taylor all played quite well, but Edwards & Haynes shown quite brightly 4 England as well, IMHO. A lot of people really dk how well Eng. rebounded from the 2 defeats 2 Hung. in '53.

@TheLegendfamily No not really. I've seen his goal stats which was phenomenal and that led me to find videos of him on Youtube.

Fascinating. And of course we also get to see the 'dry leaf' style of shooting from Didi, as well as a petulance repeated in '66 by 'tina.
