I will say that I am glad we can have an intelligent discussion, seeing as you haven't deleted my comment yet. While we are nit picking, you should have capitalized the "f" in "French", as well as the "a" in "American". I fail to see the logic behind the comment that it is for the sake of profit. If that was the true intention, then why did we take the oil fields, and then turn them back over?
We all find it convenient to ignore the blatant human rights violations committed by Saddam.
Saddam indeed committed pretty bad human rights violations, but it would be very hypocritical then to support the US government and army when they do the same over there and in Guantanamo. Also the war was not based on these arguments I respect, but on enormous lies by a president who should have been impeached for that.
PS: about the capital letters to nationalities, I prefer not: I'm in inhabitant of the world, I don't care about nations or patriotism.
Also, Saddam has been taken over for quite some time now. The US should have left Irak then. Except for keeping control ot a government of puppets, so they can keep their oil ambitions, what's the point of staying over there: americans soldiers are not fighting terrorism, they're just pushing more and more frustrated people to be so.
"Pro-war idiots on the border of the March to the Pentagon against the war in Irak"
I guess you are some sort of prodigy who can't even spell "Iraq".
I would weigh in on this situation, but my effort would be wasted on some keyboard surfing tough guys who wouldn't even give my argument a moments thought. A true traitor is someone who refuses to question their own beliefs, for fear of seeing the world for what it truly is.
I'm french, and I spell Irak the way it's spelled in french, whether you like it or not. And indeed I despise idiots who support a war which only purpose is to generate more money for the weapons sellers and the oil producers, and certainly not for "saving a true sad world". Aren't the traitors the ones using americans for their own profit?
Both sides are pro-US... One of 'em thinks that means our government is always right (particularly when it's RIGHT), while the other takes a less "faith-based" approach to science, foreign policy, the proper role of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of gov't, ...
"...We're up to our necks in the big muddy, and the damned fool says push on..."
I'm as proud of my country as the next guy. Why do you keep insisting that that the anti war marchers are Anti American?
Why don't take a look around and see how your rhetoric is dividing the country. The far right is quick to point to every little thing the left does wrong. Now it is time for some self examination and see how the far right and that includes you ar part of the same problem.
Anyone that supports the Anti-terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act (passed under Clinton), the USA PATRIOT Act, or the Military Commissions Act (passed under Bush Jr.) is guilty of treason.
YOU'RE EITHER WITH THE "CONSTITUTION HUGGERS" OR YOU'RE WITH THE TRAITORS!
Anyone that supports the officials BS fairy tale of 9/11 is guilty of supporting domestic terrorism.
YOU'RE EITHER WITH THE 9/11 TRUTH MOVEMENT OR YOU'RE WITH THE TERRORISTS!
If Rolling Thunder really wanted to do something worthwhile, they'd be out trying to stop this war. From what I saw, they're the dumbest bunch of motherfuckers on the planet. At least Bush and his friends will get some oil if they win this war. The rest of us, including the dumbasses who believe Bush's lies, won't get diddly.
Well, since posting my endorsement of 'em, I've read accusations about the RT leadership leaning pretty far right. Some more liberal biker/vets want no part of 'em. All I know for sure is that two different Gulf vets I talked to back then had only praise for RT. If the political rumors are true, I may have to take that into account...
Yeah...let's hear it for the fucknuts who claim to be all about "free speech". I guess that's why they assaulted several anti-war demonstrators. The facts speak for themselves. "Rolling Thunder" is the face of american fascism.
Rolling Thunder as a whole is no more to blame for the actions of the pro-war thugs (& I suspect the number of reported incidents here and elsewhere will grow in the coming days) than the peace folks are for the few idiots who vandalize property or instigate police response in the name of peace.
I'm just curious what kinda instruments of vandalism the police found when they searched the marchers, and how long it'll take before the RT vets figure out that they were used by the freepers.
Rolling thunder were a large part of the pro war demonstrators and every incident I heard about was from a Rolling Thunder thug. As a whole Rolling Thunder has an image problem that they have to fix if they don't want to be known as thugs.
I agree. It's unfortunate, but they start with one strike against 'em. Average folks fear "bikers" going in. While it's only a fraction of 'em that actually do the bad shit, all of 'em get tagged with it. Teddy Bear runs & the like help, but cannot take it away... Even after seeing some of the vids that've been posted, (& even being one of the peace folk) I'd like to believe that this doesn't represent the majority of RT. But it isn't easy...
Rolling Thunder does great things for vets, and deserve a whole lotta supprt. If they really believed that the memorials were under threat of some kind of attack from the peace marchers (or agent provocateurs--undercover law enforcement or pro-war folks out to create an issue--I'm glad they went to protect them.
great job Patriots! We are fed up with the commie protests & will be there in force to let them KNOW they are NOT going to destroy our republic with their trash
You mean the fascist Bush trash that is actively destroying OUR Constitution, Bill of Rights that these guys supposedly fought for?
I was there and this particular video is of a group of about 150 deluded nuts standing at the end of the bridge where the 40,000 marchers turned left on the Pentagon. You would not know it but there were also Active Military protesters in the anti war march. We sure do not want your vision of a militaristic republic to follow the very DEAD Roman model.
Who are the "idiots," those who support the people fighting for the right of free expression(those who you call "idiots"), or those who can only take advantage, while giving aid and comfort to those who would take those rights away?
