  • Question for you sir: What kind of yield can be expected from a 5-gallon compost tea brewer? My wife and I have a 30'x30' vegetable garden, and then 2 berry patches each about 7'x15'. We also have an herb garden that is probably another 7'x15' or so. Would a 5 gallon bucket give plenty of tea to cover the roots and foliar spray? Or would we be looking at investing in a 25-gallon brewer?

  • @MentorOfMinos Bruce has said a 5 gallon bucket can cover an acre. You can add it to more water as a carrier.

  • We have iron bacteria in our well water. Does anyone know if that is ok for making compost tea in?

  • @bluefringes well i'm not sure what that is but mollasis has iron and it feeds bactieria so yeah why not

  • If i don't add molasses, is it ok?

  • Nice info Bruce. I have always wondered how long you can keep the tea brewing? As for as the Mycos and such staying viable. Thanks for the tutorials and help. Happy Trails.

  • I just built mine today and brewing my first batch today.

Cost at the WalMart 26 bucks. OH I did buy 2 York Peppermint patties in that for a BUCK!!!

    So not too bad.

  • Awesome. My next choice would have been a Klondike bar. =)

  • very informative series- covers a lot of details that I've not found elsewhere. kudos!

  • Thanks! Glad you found it useful.

  • You've mentioned Horizon dairies somewhere 01:15 01:20 on how there deceiving consumers with their organic claim, is that the same dairy that sells Horizon Farms branded milk?

  • Yup- that's the one! The very brand Whole Foods stocks its shelves with.

  • how do you keep the tea from going anarobic?

  • Keep it aerated and follow the schedule Bruce outlines. A bit of molasses will help as well. If you let it sit and don't use it, it'll go anaerobic.

  • I went to 2 walmarts to buy that pump yesterday and they didn't have it, but they did have one that cost twice as much, which is the one I purchased but I was kinda mad about it. I started a batch of compost tea last night and I am very excited about it!! Thanks for making these vid's available to the public!

  • You're welcome, Monica. Another box store that has a variety of air pumps is PetsMart. So far, they have more air pumps than any other retailer. However, Wal-Mart, I found has the *cheapest*- that's *if* its available.

  • Do you have the website of Bruce?

    Thanks.

  • Right hand side of the video... Click the More Info button.

  • Hydroponic stores also have a large variety of air pumps - IF you have them in your area. We have two in my area...lucky me!
