@tomgunc Aikido isn't something that teaches you how to fight. Aikido teaches you about energy flow, and about how to change the direction of an engagement. It goes beyond fighting and it goes beyond peace; that is a fight in and of itself : "fighting vs peace". It is nature, it is the art of physics. If you don't think that is important than YOU don't stand a chance. I find it pretty sad that people think that throwing exercises are supposed to represent fighting ability or something, haha

The only Aikido I approve of is from one Sensei and that's Steven Seagal. Not too many AIkidoist can do what he does plus at the speed he does it in. He knows more then Aikido, he knows movement.
@udekiminage I know Aikido and I know that acted and scripted shit doesn't work in real life.....on the mat yes of course. Take an Aikidoist and of your choosing and put him in an Octagon those guys even the young kids will tear them from limb to limb. Aikido doesn't stand a chance. I am one the biggest UFC fans and as much as I love Aikido it has to be mixed in with other martial arts like say what Anderson Silva does. So I have no idea.....i've seen a lot. Maybe I'm lying to myself??

Your impression of this video is like watching MMA video about shrimping. To most people that don't understand. They think it is useless. But its actually very important. Same with this video. You are just watching a small aspect of Aikido.

Guys doing Karate do Karate, not Karate + some fancy stuff for the Octagon. Guys doing Kendo do Kendo not Kendo + some fancy stuff for the Octagon ... Why the fuck can't you leave Aikidoka alone and let them do Aikido? Without fancy stuff for the Octagon? If you want to go to the Octagon, learn shit you need there ... and let us Budoka alone.

@tomgunc Steven Seagal does not really do Aikido, it is just poorly performed Ju Jutsu aiming to hurt the partner to get idiots like you believe he is cool. It is not necessary to hurt someone like he does to be effective. You know, when he does a movie every of his Aikido moves have to be repeated dozens of times to get them on screen. In RL you would expect he only needs one attempt ;D In relation to Yamaguchi Sensei (RIP) Seagal is just a novice.
@Jiyukan steven segal is a 7th degree balck belt in akido.he is the first american to teach in japan.r u serious.get ur facts together.its odvious u no nothing.a 7th degree in any martial arts is dangerous
@anggunse Dude no offense, but he received 4th Dan in Japan because he married a japanese "princess", the 7th degree he gave himself via his american federation. Yes, Steagal is "dangerous" because he is an idiot and does not care for his partners as you easily can see on his records of broken bones during stunts and actions in movies. What you think why no one is making any "serious" movies with him anymore? The guy has such a bad technique most would not give him 1st Dan.
