Female gamer here. ^_^ Some of my favorites include Shadow of the Colossus, the God of War series (Greek Mythology nerd), and Kingdom Hearts...just to name a few.
Question: Why can't women have more interests than shopping (which I love) and vanity (which at times can be overrated)?
Video games are beautiful from an artistic perspective, hold unbelievable promise for voice actors and actresses to express themselves through a particular character, and are just fun to immerse yourself in.
@Borin81 Besides the fact that there IS and has always been a female audience they just started out small. I've been interested in games probably since i first saw one, it just sucks that I can't ever have my "heck yeah i'll kick your butt" strong female character with out her being a slut. Wow is a good example, aka the female worsen
As someone mentioned before, the problem only seems to be in American games. I'm a female gamer and I love Japanese games. They are colorful and entertaining. I hardly ever touch an American game though, and that has nothing to do with being a weeaboo or whatever. It's because I don't like the dark, bland colors, and the characters tend to be boring. They focus more on guns and being badass rather than having nicely cell-shaded appearance and being character driven. Think Halo vs. Fire Emblem.
4:15 Redesigning Lara Croft may not win total outsiders who continue to make assumptions about her based on her old model. But, what about women who play non-casual games but never played Tomb Raider before? And what about women who actively care about the sexualization of women, and only avoided the franchise because of Lara's marketing/boobs?
He is so right about Lara Croft. Marketing ruined Lara Croft. She is easily my favourite Vgame character. Sassy, sociopathic, whimsical, excentric, aristocratic female archeologist with the world wrapped around her finger. She is so awesome. Fuck Indiana Jones, she's the female Batman.
However, all you ever see about her outside of the better games are the size of her breasts and the tired risqué stills. It really shows how skewed our perception of characters is.
@RevolutionaryLoser Not only that. The designer had a reasonable version of Lara from the beginning. He put those boobs on her as a joke submission to higher-ups, satirizing how sexualized female game characters are. Then his bosses went and adopted the thing... Now -that's- ruining Lara Croft.
this problem is appearent to only in the western culture it seems. i am japanese and i seldom see the gender divide in japanese gaming culture. i think is mainly because the anonymous nature in the internet promotes male gamers to become more... robust. unlike in western side, the japanese culture demand us to supress our personality and comform to general social etiquettes in offline and online. this perhaps helped the famale gamers to transition to hardcore gaming much easier i think.
I have met quite a few girls that are gamers. In fact, it some how worked my way into what makes a girl attractive to me. And this is something that has always bugged me. This stereotype that I've never understood. The fact that people see a game as gender specific. That's like saying Monopoly is for men, while Clue is for girls? About a year ago, I was listen to NPR, and a woman was being interviewed, and her job was a design for video games for girls. As a guy, who grew up with it, I was
confused as hell. With the example above in my mind, I thought the idea of designing games for girls was outlandish. I was wathching your series at the time, on the escapist, and I did in fact sent an email. Maybe you guys missed it, but I was very glad when I found these old videos and that what I was concerned about had been address. You guys do great work, I hope you keep it up. You series almost feels like justification for my favourite hobby. I LOVE YOUR SHOW!!
In addition to the objectification of women, it's also a problem of sexual harassment, especially where multiplayers are concerned. Google "Fat, Ugly or Slutty" and you'll see a plethora of proof of neanderthals harassing women. This is what female gamers face every time they log on; it's also the reason why most of us mask ourselves as men so that we don't get sexually harassed. It stinks ass. But yes, hats off to Ubisoft. Hopefully, they'll release a female assassin as a protagonist ;D
@munkymp3 Yes there are people who are like that but alot(at least what I've seen) Girls are attention whores who think they're special beause they play video games.
I think he's kind of right we should make games that work for both male and female but you shouldn't take it to far draw a line in a way have games for both but have games for males and games for females and the thing is that games that are for both male and female don't usually have a sexy icon mainly male games do I mean female games can have them but Maybe not as much that's just what I think I don't think it really matters but just keep it in mind
Sure, I play video games. I'm practically addicted to Skyrim, Minecraft, Terraria, etc. Sure, I'm a girl, but why should I be considered different from any other person who plays video games? We're not "guy gamers" or "girl gamers", we're just...gamers. And hopefully it can stay that way. A gamer title shouldn't be a way for girls to manipulate themselves for attention, and somehow make them feel special for the fact that they can wrap an xBox controller wire around their boobs.
i agree with most of this, lol but at the same time i know more girls who LOVE playing the sexy female characters who are scantily clad just as much as any guy would, than i know girls who find it offended. Most girls who would say its offensive are girls who never would play anything other than an IOS game ...im speaking from my personal experience not for everyone
When I first bought my first Wii (several hours of pet sitting by the way) the lady at walmart kinda irked me, I got my games and I asked for a black Wii she looked at me strangly and she sayed "A black one are you sure?" I asked what the problem was with it and she sayed "Well normaly girls tend to buy the white Wii" (white Wiis are ugly in my opinion) And it always bothers me when I hear oh my god your a girl gamer? Well yeah... IF ITS SO SUPRISING WHY NOT SLAP A BOYS ONLY LABEL ON THE GAMES!!
I'm a girl. I play Skyrim, COD, Minecraft, Fallout, Portal, you name it. But Im not some fat chick who never goes outside. I'm actually quite good looking if I may say so, I have a boyfriend and Im one of the most popular girls in my year of school. Also guys to tell girls to get in the kitchen will NEVER get laid.
@maximusfart Who cares whether you're popular or pretty? That is besides the point and your emphasis on it is just showing how you think it's more important than being a true gamer. Sounds like you're the kind of girl gamer this video chastises.
And lol at you "[having] a boyfriend." Because what guy wants to date a girl who games?! I'm sure you're the only one.
@ldf8u No I was trying to say i'm actually a normal girl who happens to play video games. I'm trying to show I'm NOT a slut or fat or a lesbian as the stereotype girl gamer is.
"And lol at you "[having] a boyfriend." Because what guy wants to date a girl who games?! I'm sure you're the only one" Um why would you say that? Why watch a gamer girl video and then say they shouldn't have boyfriends.
@maximusfart Your logic is puerile and you wholly missed my sarcasm. I wasn't say that at all and was in fact pointing out how it was amusing that you felt like you had to proclaim that you had a boyfriend, as if trying to prove that girl gamers can, in fact, have boyfriends (and you are in fact a cool, pretty one--oh, my!) when it should be a given. In fact, it's sought after. How old are you precisely? You couldn't understand a word I said.
I was lucky enough to be raised by two gamers...I now play silent hill and mortal combat with my guy friends wile my girl friends are doing other such things.
The Mass Effect trilogy is exactly what this video is asking for! The games have plenty that's traditionally "male"--guns, explosions, space combat, sci-fi--but there is much that the typical woman would love, too--customization, intimate romantic relationships, dialogue, involving choices, and above all, a STRONG FEMALE HEROINE, sexy but classy and a military leader, who is getting her own trailer this time around. The series is the whole package for both genders. Hope Bio's ad campaign works.
Excellent article. Congratulations, you bring many valid points.
It's true, female game characters need to be more balanced in their designs. There's no need to get rid of the sex symbols, it's a matter of creating more characters that are not sexuality incarnate. If every female were a voluptuous femme fatale, then nobody would be special or really distinctive. Thanks for the video.
@Dolfboy Why shouldn't it be beneficial for men to learn about gender issues? Every man has a woman in his life that he cares about and would like others to see for her own merits. Women's issues are not just women's issues but people's issues. Also, just because the majority of the audience is male doesn't mean that no female audience members exist. I'm a living, breathing example of that.
Hey, nice video. I'm a girl, consider myself straight, and I love bouncing boobs in video games (especially Ivy Valentine's booby-bouncing hahaha). I play video games w/ my boyfriend, we especially enjoy playing Diablo together. Um, I say keep the BOOBIES, but also make strong female characters that don't need sex appeal to be memorable (take Chell for instance, from Portal). After all, not all women are big-boobed Barbies. Ah, and guys that don't believe in awesome female gamers are insecure.
@cookieking1996 Fuck You! Why Fuck Girl Gamers? You Tell me. Would You Prefer A Girl That Makes You Hold Her Handbag While She Searches Her Purse Of Multi Credit Cards? OR A Girl That Makes You Hold Her Xbox Controller While She Put Plugs The Xbox In And Puts Halo Or Skyrim On. From The Guy Friends I Have I Know Who They Prefer. As Mum Used To Say To Me When I Was 6, If You Have Nothing Nice To Say, DONT SAY IT.
This is exactly how I felt before my boyfriend introduced me to fallout 3. I was so scared to go into this world and feel alienated that it kept me from discovering this world for nearly 20 years. However I still choose to game alone for fear of being alienated.
For me, the biggest turn offs in the gaming market is how everything "girl" related is pink. Or that they HAVE to make a line of console in pink. I actually HATE pink. :P
The other is games like MW3 and other war games. A shoot-em-up game with what feels like no point to it at all. I was reduced to Nintendo games for almost my whole life because the games actually feel like the have a purpose or story line. Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon. Bioshock 2 and TF2 (pyro~)are the only ones non Nintendo for me
Some people say it's about attention for girls, we're popular for wanted to be one of the guys and play just as good as them, but that isnt always the case! I play because I either love the stories or the style, I want to go into graphic design when I'm older, so it's all fascinating to me, Halo, Borderlands, you name it. And I love the multiplayer because it gives me a sense of accomplishment as i get better.I don't care if you're a guy or a girl, lets just play the games!
I think its just that the common genres arent for women (Examples are very skill required complex games like battlefield which I suck at) they prefer games that simpler which shows why halo is the most popular first person shooter for girls. it's simple. no aiming down sights, not perks in the loadouts you have to remember, no camping spots to recognize. its not that their too girly I think they just dont have as much dedication that guys will to learn something complex. but some might
I'm female. I like L4D, CoD and I WANT SKYRIM! Halo is pretty awesome even though I only played it with a friend (Sadly I don't own it) I think it all depends on the person, I like anime and manga which commonly has action in it, so it's natural for me to e drawn to the action style games.
You made very strong points but you are basing some of them a bit on scantily dressed girls or too much violence or some other reason. True most of the people who play games are said to be boys but what if there's a lot of "girl gamers?" I mean is that sometimes girls who play games usually try to hide their gender because they usually get harassed when they do say they are girls then bombarded with derogatory terms.
If a gamer happens to be female, everything she does will be wrong. If she plays casual games, she doesnot count. If she plays an fps, she's there for the guys. If she is open about being female, she's an attention seeker. If she hides her gender, she doesn't exist. If she's pretty, shes a slut, if she's not pretty, she's pathetic. If she kicks ass and brag about it, she's also an attention seeking bitc trying to act all tough. If she is just average, or not that good, haha that's just what I t
1. If you want female gamers to feel respected and included, FFS, stop using the phrase "girl gamers". They're not little girls, they're women. It's creepy to infantilize grown people. 2. You are right, pointing the finger at female gamers who show themselves off as sexy, is blame-the-victim philosophy. It is made perfectly clear to all women in all areas of life, and gaming in particular, that looks and sexual appeal is a requirement if you are to be tolerated and even admitted in. in the la
Sexism is just another problem to me. i may not be female but i live in AUS. in case you did not know, Australia has some serious problems when it comes to video-games. Currently, we are fighting to release games that have been deemed too violent to be released, the prices of the video-games ($110 for a new game) and physiologist claiming that video games are becoming a "national health problem" and on top of that the whole sexism thing.
@JukemDrawles89 was that an insult or a compliment? anyway you seem to disagree with my opinion. Is its because i said that sexism is not my biggest problem? because if it is then you should know that sexism is a problem and should be delt with. when you play an online video-game only one thing matters, your skill. (regardless of your gender.) if you believe that one sex is inferior to another then its your problem
BTW: i have never been dominate in my life. mainly cause i cbf
As a gamer who happens to be a girl... this is awesome. There are so many stereotypes surrounding Gurl Gamerz and it's important to remind people that, well, that's all we are. Not sex symbols, not annoying noobs, just girls who enjoy playing games. Sure, they might suck. They might kick ass, too! Just like the males, there's a lot of variety and they can't just be lumped together by gender.
Hey bitches stay out i swear i broke sum girls xbox controller becuz she was playing cod girls need to stay in the kitchen true fact the avreage 13 year old male can take on a girl of any age
I just feel that girl gamers are only playing games because everyone else is. There are the many that do enjoy every minute of in-game experience, but there are those who play for the sake of playing. Games like CoD have made this trend even more obvious; its a game that everyone has(sadly). I salute those who have played the classics, but i'm not to ok with an "intruder" if you will. And those who use their sex appeal have no place online.
@JukemDrawles89 You're just mad because i'll kick your ass in a video game :3 Bring it, bitch. You'll be in that kitchen qqing before I even think to get up to grab a soda~
@JukemDrawles89 Actually, surprisingly, i've stayed away from wow. I'm holding out on Aion for GW2 and you sound like a guy who hasn't been laid in a while lol If only you saw what most gamer girls look like. You'd be so jelly of the dumb blonde you're stuck with. :3
@JukemDrawles89 Is that really all you can come up with now after this long? Should really go outside at this point and come to the 21st century. You have to quote me now to get your point across for Christ's sake lol Are you 12 by chance? Just curiously. You likely don't even have a job yet, either, by how you act around people. You assume you're better than the people you talk to without realizing you've been outplayed, out-skills and most of all; defeated. It's sad now lol
i hate when im on xbox and guys like harass me and try to get me to call them. It's fuuuudging obnoxious and they act like they've never seen a girl before. Seriously I'm just trying to have fun on modern warfare just like you guys and it totally ruins the experience when I'm being told to stay in the kitchen or some crap like that. Grow up
If you're going to look at someone's ass for the entire game, it might as well be a nice ass. Many games with a locked "behind the back"(not just third person, this excludes GoW, DMC) camera feature females with nice asses(not all of course, AC,PoP and others). They just need to tone it down a bit, but considering the new Lara sounds like she's orgasming half the gameplay trailer I don't think they're doing it right.
Idk bout it. I kinda like playing the sexy kick ass female characters :x I dislike the nudity in images but in game sexy females are welcome, same goes for handsome men(maybe make the men more appealing to females will draw a larger crowd to male populated games?
Personally I don't think we should try to "force" games specifically for girls. They're just humans with a different interest most time and if they're into casual or hardcore is usually up to them. It feels weird training a girl to try to like video games. I'd feel weird if a girl trained me to be into high fashion & celebrity gossip or something akin to the female gender.
@NarfLarf girls like games......but just not if they make us feel uncomfortable. there is a difference between not liking something and be turned off by something because it's unrespectful.
Ha. I thank my dad for getting me into gaming, When I was only five and he'd be playing Tomb Raider , which introduced me to gaming spectrum. I know several girls that are gamers besides myself. I talk games with all my friends and they like hearing about them because I try to make them sound legitimately interesting. It's easy for me to make my friends like games such as Skyrim, Dead Space, Mass Effect, Bioshock, ect. because I can make them sound fun to play.
Men have a stronger desire to be perfect male specimens. So we play videogames were the main characters are big muscley gun toting badasses, Or slightly smaller badasses with insane fighting skills.Women dont want to be the very best they can be (at least physically) So Sexy girls with big boobs and fighting/shooting skills doesnt appeal to them. look at arkham city, it fulfills our wish to be batman. The girls are all sexy.because whats the point of being perfect males, if the women are imperfect
problem inherit differently in other parts of the world. in japan, it is very common to find female players in gaming. i think is because japanese gaming culture has a strict ettiquttes unlike in western culture where aggressive behavior are encouraged. so not only the genre we have to worry but also the gaming culture must alter. and... i think that is asking too much.
Industries shouldn't have to cater to genders period, just likes of the individuals. If majority of people like war games, then they'll make war games, RPG's, zombie games....etc etc. If women would open their eyes and actually try these games instead of writing them off bc there are scantily clad women and explosions, then there wouldn't be such a gap in the women to men gamer ratio,
Have my women scantily clad, AND treated with dignity and respect! Have my games have both genders, BUT make them identical in every way so its simply a different perspective! You want gender equality? Well so do I, which means women must flanderize men as sex symbols and be as susceptible to physical violence for no reason as much as men in the world of fiction!
i'm a dude and i was never interested in halo or call of duty or left4dead. not to mention, i usually get my ass kicked on those games, but thats beside the point. i adore Half-Life because it's something fuckin DIFFERENT. i am mad, mad sick of games saturated with popularity that have nothing but simple cliche ideas consisted of them: zombies, lazer weapons, army shit
i mean competition is fuckin awesome but SERIOUSLY ENTERTAINMENT CULTURES NEED SOMETHING DIFFERENT in my everlasting opinion
@SONYandMICROSOFT not to be argumentative and stuff with u yo, i see where ur coming from. lol it does include all that but my positive side on that is that to me they actually make something different out of it all. i'm sure we'd all or at least many of us would agree on that
the zombies are more like puppet alien humanoids instead of dead-reanimated bodies, the laser stuff to me is unique and fuckin kick ass! and hey the characters rebel against the army or system or wutever
Maybe I'm just too... I don't know, casual? Maybe even bisexual? Even though I'm a girl, I am actually drawn to video games that portray women as seductresses and sex symbols. I really don't mind it, and I find that some of the most exciting games do involve at least three scantily clad women at some point. It's fine with me, I don't see a problem with it, except that other women might not take it as well. To me, gender barriers are pointless, though.
@BabyCreeperLaser My thought (maybe) is that you are very proud of the natural beauty of women and you can also see that video game sex symbols Its just for video game medial entertainment. I agree too. Gender barriers are pointless.....I mean come on look at the male video gaame sex symbols. Its pretty much the same thing and people fail to realize that.
im male but i dont care if i play as a super musclebound freak of nature or fight super muscle bound freaks of nature, i dont care if im fighting a guy who poses as a super genius super rich ladies man or if im playing as one
why would women care about sexy scantily clad women in the game when I dont either?
if there are male aliens in a game should i feel they objectify myself
@kilkolio Damn those womenz and them prying into our men hobbies. How dare they try to have a form of entertainment cater to them as well. They already took the voting and education exclusivity from us! Let them have their girly fashion designing and babies. HUR DUR! (FYI there are A LOT of male fashion designers. Way more than female game designers.)
the gaming industry is not attempting to cater for men either, its just by chance men were more interested in games they become programmers, designers for games and thats how history is made nobody is deliberately making games aimed for males only violent games are aimed towards ppl that like decapitating a zombie, puzzle games are aimed for ppl that like using their brain
as much as it would be nice to get more girl gamers and stuff, I would still like to have the whole "Games for men/women" boxes, because frankly, if every game was made for both genders, there would be so many things that wouldn't be allowed in games, like if this change happened before mass effect, no alien sex scenes, and who really want's those gone but feminists?
It's not only the question of hypersexuality in games,it's about the teen guys think that is not a real thing a girl playing video game, and she would end hurting herself because of guys argument.
Hello everybody, how are you, we are currently recruiting girl gamers ONLY to join our team of video gamers, ANY FEMALE gamers with regular video game uploads are welcome
Sometimes the problem with some girl gamers is that they always insists on introducing themselves as a "girl" gamer, like they are expecting people to treat them as "special" or "unique". In a video game, skill is what matters, not your gender. If people harass you, just ignore it then.
I'm a girl gamer and I do not play casual games-League of Legends is my most played game at the moment, and whenever I tell people my name or it gets out that I am a girl, I am horribly disrespected, called ugly, gay, or fat, and it has become such a huge problem that I have stopped sharing my name or who I am. I love games and I will never stop playing multiplayer, but I am sad that girls who play games like me are stereotyped to the point where it's hurtful.
@sushimandi I agree, it is sad. I guess it kind of like when a animal marks it's territory in the woods. That's his territory and any other animal that trespasses will get a good mauling. Don't let it get you down. Just concentrate on kicking their asses and you'll be fine.
gamer girls are great and there are so little thats why like halo videos(like 1 or 2) you see a bunch of little kids and like one girls and everyone is fightingto go near her and talk to her thats why i try to keep my cool im always a little suprised to see a girls in the game and i send them a friend request but once you get to know them they are a lot like guys
While the gaming culture should indeed have more women,I think that men are just more suited to video games in general.Men think with the side of their brain that governs logical thought, and women with the side that governs emotion.Game design is heavily rooted in using logical properties,as is the interactive nature of games. When you use the emotional centers in your brain, you're looking for story, and story IS an integral part of any game, but games aren't necessarily the best place to go for
I love gaming and i play halo and cod everyday but if anyone diss me then their into trouble my freinds respect me for who i am a girl gamer and i love to shoot things (preferably boys ) :0
Girl gamers get a lot of hate from... well, everyone, actually. :(
Even fellow gamers tend to treat them like crap, which can suck all the fun out of multiplayer games.
I don't know where it came from but a lot of people have developed the notion that girl gamers are at least one of the following: gay, ugly, friendless, and- and this is the most irritating one of all- not good at games.
>_>
Worse still is the constant propositioning that more often than not is outright harassment...
Im a girl gamer.. And whenever I play games like RPG games, first/third person shooter and other stuff, they think I'm a freakin lesbian or something.. Can't a girl just enjoy her games nowadays without people thinking that theres something wrong? I really hope there are other girls into gaming.. Great video BTW.
My friend wanna make games when he gets knowledge in it... he wanna make female characters with full body armors and not those goddamn bra and thong panties... so they acctuly get ARMOR!
Well can't say I blame anyone for anything, we are taught in business to make business moves. Sell it. Back then it was just about sticking to what you know. But in the world, someone will make the change. When that change works, it is no longer about sticking to what you know, it's keeping up to who is making the change.
I'm a girl, 22, and I play only rpg games (ultima/final fantasy/mass effect/elder scrolls/nwn/planescape torment/arcanum etc,etc...)... and well I don't want to be "overbearing" but I'm not so ugly as the common belief says... is so sad to feel compelled to make these statements -.-
I've have obtained respect for this man. well said

PLAYING EVERY GENERIC TRIPLE A TITLE DOES NOT MAKE YOU A 'HARDCORE' GAMER!
playing those you mentioned makes you just as casual as the girls..
Bioshock is just System Shock 2 in a not so good disguise.... JRPGs are terrible.
yeah Halo is good but its linear no aiming over powered masterchiefness is just annoying...
and only 1 PoP was good.

this problem is appearent to only in the western culture it seems. i am japanese and i seldom see the gender divide in japanese gaming culture. i think is mainly because the anonymous nature in the internet promotes male gamers to become more... robust. unlike in western side, the japanese culture demand us to supress our personality and comform to general social etiquettes in offline and online. this perhaps helped the famale gamers to transition to hardcore gaming much easier i think.

SeffleMunch 2 weeks ago
Sure, I play video games. I'm practically addicted to Skyrim, Minecraft, Terraria, etc. Sure, I'm a girl, but why should I be considered different from any other person who plays video games? We're not "guy gamers" or "girl gamers", we're just...gamers. And hopefully it can stay that way. A gamer title shouldn't be a way for girls to manipulate themselves for attention, and somehow make them feel special for the fact that they can wrap an xBox controller wire around their boobs.
darkraichu55 2 weeks ago
i agree with most of this, lol but at the same time i know more girls who LOVE playing the sexy female characters who are scantily clad just as much as any guy would, than i know girls who find it offended.

IF ITS SO SUPRISING WHY NOT SLAP A BOYS ONLY LABEL ON THE GAMES!!

maximusfart 3 weeks ago
@maximusfart Who cares whether you're popular or pretty? That is besides the point and your emphasis on it is just showing how you think it's more important than being a true gamer. Sounds like you're the kind of girl gamer this video chastises.
And lol at you "[having] a boyfriend." Because what guy wants to date a girl who games?! I'm sure you're the only one.
ldf8u 2 weeks ago
@ldf8u No I was trying to say i'm actually a normal girl who happens to play video games. I'm trying to show I'm NOT a slut or fat or a lesbian as the stereotype girl gamer is.
"And lol at you "[having] a boyfriend." Because what guy wants to date a girl who games?! I'm sure you're the only one" Um why would you say that? Why watch a gamer girl video and then say they shouldn't have boyfriends.
maximusfart 6 days ago
@maximusfart Your logic is puerile and you wholly missed my sarcasm. I wasn't say that at all and was in fact pointing out how it was amusing that you felt like you had to proclaim that you had a boyfriend, as if trying to prove that girl gamers can, in fact, have boyfriends (and you are in fact a cool, pretty one--oh, my!) when it should be a given. In fact, it's sought after. How old are you precisely? You couldn't understand a word I said.

Industries shouldn't have to cater to genders period, just likes of the individuals. If majority of people like war games, then they'll make war games, RPG's, zombie games....etc etc. If women would open their eyes and actually try these games instead of writing them off bc there are scantily clad women and explosions, then there wouldn't be such a gap in the women to men gamer ratio,
MangledMaggie 2 months ago
Have my women scantily clad, AND treated with dignity and respect! Have my games have both genders, BUT make them identical in every way so its simply a different perspective! You want gender equality? Well so do I, which means women must flanderize men as sex symbols and be as susceptible to physical violence for no reason as much as men in the world of fiction!

the gaming industry is not attempting to cater for men either, its just by chance men were more interested in games they become programmers, designers for games and thats how history is made nobody is deliberately making games aimed for males only violent games are aimed towards ppl that like decapitating a zombie, puzzle games are aimed for ppl that like using their brain

@sushimandi I agree, it is sad. I guess it kind of like when a animal marks it's territory in the woods. That's his territory and any other animal that trespasses will get a good mauling. Don't let it get you down. Just concentrate on kicking their asses and you'll be fine.

I think girls should just pose naked while playing games with the controller unplugged. while the man plays and she make me a sandwich

Ah, well.

Games are games, it isn't complicated.

It'd be nice if there was a game or ten that was a nice transition state between casual and hardcore gaming.
