  • @h2opolodan11 lets be precise and say 'Post Renaissance's' Christianity, before then it was just as barbaric as we think modern Islam is today, if not more so. Even then, 'Post Renaissance's' Christianity happily allowed for the "freest" nation on earth to hold millions of slaves for until the civil war.

  • @h2opolodan11 ....really

  • I'm Chris Matthews and I'm a douchebag!

  • is this video doctored?

  • I'm not a fan of Huck but I think he did a great job here.

  • what's up with the sound?

  • Agree or not, Huckabee is quick on his feet and a very good communicator.

  • Please Read: Her Name is Ms. ANN, on YOUTUBE. It tells the whole story. Listen to James Manning. It will change how you think! Chrissy got his panties in a bunch!

  • Leviticus states you shall not eat pork, or masterbate. And wearing polyester would not be allowed either. That means most Southern Baptists are headed for hell, right?

  • @woody5551 The pork and polyester laws were jewish civil laws under the old testament, there's a reason it's called "old" testament, it's because the civil laws are done away with at the fulfillment of those laws by the Messiah. The Old Testament itself predicts its own replacement by the new testament, a covanent that regards spiritual laws. Regarding civil laws, the new testament simply decrees adherence to the secular governmental law of the land.

  • @woody5551 However I would advise a better source than a Youtube political analysis heading for further insight to your spiritual interests.

  • Grilled???? how???

  • Matthews is just a dick, period

  • Wallace is funny, he says that Huckabee was to supposed to be giving a bio. His ad was brilliant... it is not inappropriate to say that he was a denominational leader and this gives him background with social conservatism?

hmm... I respect Wallace, he is one of my favorite liberal commentators... but sometimes I think he tries to ambush people. But I guess that is what Hardball is all about, making people sweat.

As a conservative, I really do not mind this sort of stuff, keeps us honest.

  • Huckabee whipped Chris Matthews' ass.

  • that Mr. Huckabee, what a classy guy

  • Obama won Makkitoto, Obama supports hate speech legislation while claiming to be a "Christian"

  • Huckabee makes assasination jokes while claiming to be a "Minister".

A "religious politician" is an oxymoron.

  • no it isn't

  • Jesus sought absolutely no political power. If the aim of a christian is to live as he did then Huckabee would never seek to be the President. This goes for all Christians.

The justification of slavery, wars, secret government experiments, and secret societies can be traced to Christian beliefs twisted to serve people with political and economic power.

A "religious politician" is an oxymoron.

  • wrong again

  • lol, what political office did Jesus seek then? And how much money did he have on the day of his death?

According to the bible the answer to both of these questions is none. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • No, but being Christ-like is being Christ-like whether you are running for office, playing professional sports or working at mcdonalds. Just because Mike Huckabee is a politician doesn't mean he can't be religious, and genuinely at that. personally, i think you've got your dick hard because you tried to use the word "oxymoron" and it makes you feel smart, even though it was a bad example. then again, this is America, i can say what i want, lol, geez.

  • lol, you think I'm horny because I typed oxymoron?

You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many. (Mark 10:42-45)

  • No need quoting The Bible to me son, I know good and well what's going on in their. Even the "true" role of government is to serve the people and to do what is best for them. I feel that Huckabee is "down with that," get it? lol.

And no, I don't think you're horny, I think you're "excited" that you were able to use such a word in the first place and ALMOST, get it right. Too bad you came up a little short though. You're lack of competence to comprehend sarcasm is rather entertaining however.

  • The use of oxymoron in my first comment was just fine. What makes you think it's such a "smart word" anyway? It was on a spelling test in my 6th grade class. I'm pretty sure my 12 year old sister knows how to use it.

I don't know why you like starting shit with random strangers but if you did actually know the biblical verse I just typed then you can't deny the truth in what I'm typing.

Unless you are also one of the many hypocritical Christians that infest this planet.

  • I was saying that youre easily entertained by the idea because I dont think youre smart. The verse says nothing about Christians not being politicians; its talks about greedy people and how THEY wont lead us. I feel Huck is one of the few who take government for what it really is,a servant of the people.WERE the government;were supposed to elect officials that represent OUR values.I feel cussing is hypocritical for Christians, yet I still do it,so with that youre barking up the wrong tree

  • Jesus, so far as I am aware, never had aspirations to become a metal worker, or to play the leading role in a Broadway musical. Nevertheles, it's perfectly acceptable for a Christian to pursue either of these paths, correct? What makes politics different?

  • "You know that the rulers in this world lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the slave of everyone else. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Mark 10:42-45)

    I can't think of a slave who makes $400,000 a year.

  • You didn't answer my question.

  • The passage I quoted says that Jesus wanted his disciples to be different from officials who "flaunt their authority over those under them."

Metal workers and Broadway actors have no political or social authority to flaunt. They are rewarded or punished based solely on their products and performances. Unlike the President who can be rewarded and paid very well just for being what he is.

I have little against the government or politics but I believe in the seperation of church and state.

  • Jesus was talking about serving those around us, not being a slave with masters. It's ok for a Christian to SERVE the United States in politics. God has called people to do that. By the way, what is your masters name?

  • His name's BasePlug. I'm pretty sure yours is a fictional character named Jehovah.

    Grow up assclown.

  • His name is Jesus, and He's Lord of all! And He's coming soon! Praise God

  • This guy is an arrogant bastard. First of all Governor Huckabee did NOT get grilled actually I think it was reversed.

  • May ass he's not imposing his beliefs. Huckabee's a dick head. And reminds me of TV evangelists.

  • He has a right to say he's Christian. >o>

  • Sure he does. And we have a right to see him as the swindler he is trying to use every irrellevant angle to gain power. Obeying God won't get you voted anymore. Obeying the people might.

  • there is a special place in Hell for Huckabee and his ilk.

  • The place is called Earth.

  • That is one great comment you left there.

  • What's so bad about huckabee?

  • Mike Huckabee for years have supported the kkk.

  • Um, do you want to back that up with some facts?

  • Awful man evading the obvious religious appeal he was trying to engender in voters.

The reason America got Bush for 8 years was because of the simple-minded 'vote Christian' mentality, and it seems that mindset is anything but eradicated.

  • does anyone know how many times these guys blink? lol

  • hukabee seems to be a decent man even with all the belief bullshit. much much better than mccain

  • how did mcain win over huckabee? i'd vote for mike any day over john

  • Chris hardball got his balls soft after this interview with Huckabee.

  • Huck didn't get grilled, idiot over this video needs to change the titled- Huck just answered the question that were given to him and did not get grilled in any kind of way. His answers made more sense than the question!

  • More like, Hardball grilled by Mike Huckabee

  • how is huckabee getting grilled? hes answering his questions and doing a great job? lol huckabee did a great job and he answered them great

  • Great job Mike.

  • It's just a shame the religiously deluded aren't given tougher questions, like "You believe in a god for which there is no evidence. Why should we not be concerned that you will believe in other nonsense for which there is no evidence?"

People should feel ashamed that they believe in bronze age idiocy - not proud. Religion has as much place in government as astrology, crystal balls and palm reading.

  • Jewish people survived being thrown out of Israel, Persian decree for destruction, and German systemic mass murder. God brought them back to Israel after 2000 yrs to fulfill promises to Abe. Israel is prospering like no other country in history. All this, past and future is in the Bible. Given the opp, many would crucify Jesus again, regardless of evidence. The Bible spans beyond Bronze. The M-East is the stage set in Ezekiel 38-39. The evidence is overwhelming, but don't let that fool you.

  • Yeah, and The Magic Book of Leprechauns tells us that King Leprechaun will return with magic dust and turn the earth in to chocolate cake.

Of course, I don't believe that for a second because I am rational, sane and not a deluded, wingnut whacko like you.

  • no evidence? you sure about that?

  • Yup. Certain. I've been debating religious whack jobs for years and your team have had thousands of years to produce something - and there's nothing. Just thousands of different gods, all with their own fairy tale 'miracles' and backward morality.

You all think you've got something (personal revelation, irreducible complexity, Pascal's Wager, Thomas Aquinas, etc., etc.) and it's all always half-witted gibberish.

  • well, fortunately im not a religious whack job, who people like you, always associate every christian with. just like i dont associate every atheist as a crazy godless person who has no direction in their life. i wouldnt believe the bible if it werent for the immense amount historical and archeological evidence to say the least. believe me, people much smarter than you have tried to discard the christian faith and have come up very, very short.

  • OK. Now I'm a little puzzled. You have 'evidence' but never told anyone? For thousands of years people have been looking for evidence for the crazy claims about all those gods and you had it all along?

I suggest you contact the press and get this 'evidence' for the existence of a god published. I'll read all about it when you get your Nobel Prize (I won't be holding my breath).

  • and have been born-again themselves.

  • "I suggest you contact the press and get this 'evidence' for the existence of a god published. I'll read all about it when you get your Nobel Prize."

    LOL..!!

Ooo, my God.. This guy is a complete idiot.. Monoape, where have you been in the last 30 years???

Don't you realize that more and more evidence affirming God's existence have been found, not only by religious people, but also secular scientist???

Please Googled "Grant Jeffrey" or "Lee Strobel" & get ur'self educated, ape...!!

    LOL!

  • Thank you Chris Matthews!

  • Just because there is no religious test imposed on people to run for office, doesn't mean that the voters can't impose religious tests to obtain their votes.

  • Huckabee was again gracious, didn't back down to these ridiculous questions of Matthews. By the way just heard Chris Matthews say yesterday how much he liked Mike Huckabee! Don't we all!!!

  • Governor Huckabee ran Arkansas for over a decade and NEVER imposed his faith on them. Even the most liberal democrats in Arkansas said Governor Huckabee was a fine leader and he STILL has a 65% approval rate in Arkansas, a democratic state!!! Voted one of the 5 best Governors in the US. He certainly knows how to separate religion from state. I admire him for standing up for what he believes in.

  • Totally agree with you, nrobyar..

I'm from Indonesia, the largest Moslems nation in the world, and I still hv so much respect and love for this man.. I even think that he is the best man to lead America... He is far better than Mccain, and even better than the Mr. "charismatic" Obama.. I dont know, its just something about this man that astonishes me..

You Americans are lucky to blessed with such candidate... Hope my country can have presidential candidates with the same quality as he is..

  • I actually think Huckabee did a fine job answering his questions.

Matthews spent too much time on this ad in the interview, if you ask me.

  • I agree!

    Entiendes "grilled"?

  • dangerous man to lead the free world, extreemly dishonest. it is amasing how far these whores are willing to go to serve their masters such as FRB and other entities. only Ron Paul can restore Oval office's integrity. using Jesus to win the vote of some simple minded people is down right dispacable.

  • dangerous man for leading the free world. extreemly dishonest.leaning toward Jesus to get elected is not only deceiving but out right wrong. the only man who can restore integrity to Oval Office is Ron Paul the rest are sucking up to especial interest such as FRB owners. this election is a turning point for not only american lives but the whole world in general. these whores are out of control to serve their masters.

  • I seriously want to vomit.

  • Huckabee has problems differentiating private from public; the Christian and the Caesar. Thus, he compares the "selling point" of his Presidential campaign [look at me I'm Christian] with Matthews' Hardball tv program. Thomas Jefferson called them Platonists.

Americans will not elect someone who used Christ to free rapist and serial killer Wayne DuMond. It's not what you say, Mike, it's what you do, what you've done reflects a very poor judgment. Ask Lois Davidson.

  • Huckabee. What a loon!

  • Christopher Hitchens covers the religious test in his latest Slate article. Its on their website.

  • Anyone who thinks Joe Lieberman is a "tremendous person is not worthy to get anyone's vote.

  • Huckabee will probably call you a tremendous person too

  • Ron Paul is the man

  • this has nothing to do with him... at all.

  • Yeah considering they our both running for President of the US

  • And Hardball keeps asking religious questions. How stupid is that?
