  • u know whats really bad. they had one of these at one of my Elementry schools when i was growing up never new what it was until i saw this damn thing.

  • This one freaks me out bigtime. The look, sound, and etc., remind me of the dreams I used to have about radiation and noise and etc., around nuclear and steam pressure installations. Listen to "voice of energy" by Kraftwerk to complete the nightmare.

  • sounds like a car while it is turning on

  • Had one of these in the town I grew up in.. Looked just about as ugly, and I even had nightmares about it a couple of times.

  • siren says... "I WILL KILL YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU... and so on

  • When it first starts it sounds like the looney toons theme

  • this is sound formula _D

  • sounds like a air raid siren noise from a ren and stimpy cartoon.

  • Justin Bieber this your alarm wake the hell up

  • the start sounds kinda spooky D:

  • I think there was one of these where I used to live. But the only tornado siren I ever saw nearby looked nothing like the Allertor 125. Looked more like a tiny cylindrical house on top of the post.

  • TAKE COVER!!!!!

  • URGH! When I was little I lived near a military base and had one of these fucking things right in my back yard. They tested them every two weeks and these used to scare the unholy crap out of me. I will never EVER forget the sound of these sirens for as long as I live.

  • Looks like a turbo with a blower stuck on it

  • I LOVE IT

  • This is my favorite tornado siren.

  • fif that was happenining naow not a test id be rlly scaird cause that sounds like a f5 warning

  • Westy, there's an Allertor in Bloomington that's yellow. It's on Old Shakoppe road, near the river I think.

  • Actually, the Allerter 125 was made in the 60s, not 70s. They used them as LRADs against hippies.

  • i feel like harmonizing with that more than run for my life

  • god if i had a hangover headache while standing next to that fucking siren,

and it went off, i would get a sawed off shotgun, and blow that motherfucker off the pole. LOL!

of course my ear drums would still be ringing...

  • sounds like an air raid siren from a ren and stimpy cartoon.

  • It's like shut up siren its 3 am get the shotgun shoot it of the post then regret that move for the rest of ur life but u do get a bit more sleep

  • Ear destroyer!

  • WHAT A HAIRDRYER

  • This is a cool siren, and old

  • That's the kind we had in Ontario as a kid, I used to look at it everytime we drove by because it was so creepy looking. Went off in the 70's in humidity, scary at night!

  • I just looked it up and its actually from 1960.

  • ugly, but Allertors are SO loud and they have good penetration.. as in, you can hear them inside a house !

  • lol looks like a car

  • Racing game? Gran Turismo? xD

  • Who cares what it looks like. You rather a good lookin siren or a good workin siren?

  • Looks like a toilet.

  • "It's right on top of a park building where there are ice rinks and a community center. This must be terrible to hear especially if there's a lot of people around."

Dude, it's there to be heard in attempt to save peoples lives. Not to be nuisance.

  • Isn't this that thing that the Blues Brothers took off that pole and put on top of the Blues Mobile to announce their appearance at the Palace Hotel Ballroom?????????

  • i think the noise from the allertor penetrate onto buildings better

  • its not ugly... the noise is terrible but its a very pretty color.

  • These sirens were used in Great Falls,Montana for air raid sirens for the city next to the Air Force base to warn the people thier! These were tested often during the 1960's during the 13 days in October, when USA and Russia almost when't to war over Cuba! I was 4 years old when they sounded these several sirens! I can still hear them to this day! I and my family trully thought the world was going to end when these sounded!

  • Sorry....I'll take the ole Thunderbolts any day....

  • There are three of these here in beaver county pa

  • HIT THE DECK

  • awesome start up!

  • Awesome, scary, excellent.

  • @ThatHoodieGuy yea for me its really scary becuz im alone and its creppy hearing that noise

  • The ugliest sirens ever seen? No way dude, I think its the scariest and coolest siren and its not form the 70s, these allertors are from the 50s and some still remain operatable across the country. I hope they can still keep them up since they're no longer being manufactures, I don't like seing them replaced with the new ones.

  • Great Value Air Raid Siren

    Shop At Walmart!

    Or else you will die!

  • @thetick531

    Yes, I'm from Canada,eh!

  • @RussianOrphan1 Most of the tornado warnings around here are bullshit and never anything serious. Its gotten to the point where I go out into my pool and relax and just listen to the sirens go off.

  • 0:36 WTF?!?!? EARTHQUAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is the same one used in my town. It just lets me know when its time to go out in the pool and swim while I wait for the tornado to arrive :D

  • @reuter51 That's a good idea! Next time my town has a tornado warning and the sirens go off, I'm going to try to go the swimming pool!

  • it looks like there is something spinning in there

  • that rotates fast

  • @soccerk8te38 Yes, Allerators do NOT joke-around.

  • Are the T-125 and the P-15 related?

  • it looks werid

  • i think theres a gear box in the siren and hooked to the chopper motor

  • So many videos of sirens in MN :3

  • We have a few of these in Sioux Falls. What year were they made and how do you compare to the Thunderbolt??

  • Pretty blue color & nice sound!

  • Allertors...are so badass.

Not as cool as the Thunderbolt, but they're up there.

  • Man I saw something like that under the hood of a fast and furious car once..

  • We had CLM'S and Allertor's all over London Ont when I was a cold war kid. CLM made here in Canada, Allertor couldn't tell you wether it's our's or American? But they all sound mint! They tested them enough growing up

  • This must be the type of siren that's near my house, looks exactly like it but sounds a little different, whaddya know?:)

  • My two favorite sirens are the EOWS 612 (1979-present) and the STH-10 (1955-2006)

  • THATS NO TORNADO SIREN!! THATS A HAIR DRYER!!! XD ROFLMAO!! OMG OMG OMG,MY SPLEIN!!! ROFL!!!! LMFAO

seriously...tht thing looks like a hairdryer and it sounds like its sick...XD

  • The Allertor's are Very Cool...i wish we had em in my Area...we just use crappy Modulators. :-(

  • @form109 oh you mean thoughs stacted disk sirens that sucks

  • @clowj69 Yup....Modulators and the Omidirectional Whelens....they dont even touch the Allertor

  • it sounds like a chainsaw not a siren in my opinion

  • Isn't this a slightlu higher tone than the other 125s?

  • i like federal siren 2001

  • @theappleexpress The Allertor Blows the 2001 Clean out of the Water.

  • @form109 what siren does blow the 2001 out of the water..... all of them!!

  • Sounds Sick :| See The One In Bloomington ,MI...

  • It sounds great to me.

  • live home if you hear that for real, if you want to live.

  • I can hear other sirens at 1:39.

  • Well, there are sirens in the distance Evan. Here's what you could hear

ACA Allertor at Nicollet Park in Richfield

2001 SRNB over by cedar ave (across from the new super target in Richfield, also next to MSP airport)

2001 SRN In a park, which I don't remember what the park is named, near by the Mall Of America, and on the southwest side of the airport, also by the intersection of Cedar/Hwy 77, and 494

  • How many Miles can you hear that siren from

  • There about 1/2, to 2/3 of a mile.

  • i have a siren in my park that look like that one . its a blue siren a defrant blue than that one live on a farm .

  • This is a very cool color for an allertor. This one has a pretty powerful wind up like the red P-10 in Eden Prarie.

  • ummm, its spinning the wrong way...

  • Most Sirens Like Tbolts Can Spin Counter-Clockwise There MAde To

  • ACA's are supposed to spin counter clock ONLY. It's because they have a directional stator that must spin in a certain direction and the the rotator is driven off the main siren motor.

  • The way if spinns firealarmz depends on the way it is wired.

  • @Johnporter271 Its probably wired backwards, actually. Ive seen that happen to a T-135 in one video......

  • that siren looks very ugly, turquoise doesn't look good on ANY piece of machinery!

  • yes but it IS a BLUE siren. Only BLUE siren Ive ever seen.

  • Is the musical interval on this a 4th ?

  • did you record this right under the siren?

  • What a strange Attack tone.

  • lol awesome color

  • It seems like all the videos of sirens around Minneapolis have a wierd attack cycle setting. I've seen it on nearly every video of yours with the attack signal. Most attack cycles are set to be 6 seconds on and 6 seconds off. The attack cycles in your video are more like 10 seconds on and 3 off. What's up with that?

  • nice coat of white paint

  • I love the way you can hear the AC hum of the motor during wind-up.

  • never seen a blue

  • is that blue green iv seen navy blue red but not this lol

  • Awesome recording of the Allertor-125! This one is a 3 phase 10hp model.

  • Thats a awesome color

  • They do have an Allertor in Texarkana,Tx! It is at Interstate 30 and Jarvis Parkway

  • Jonesboro, Arkansas had Allertors 3 out of 26 sirens 3 sirens failed to sound during a tornado warning they are replacing 3 sirens that did not sound with new sirens Memphis, Tennessee have 2 Allertors one Allertor don't work so they replaced it with a 2001.

  • Awesome colour and healthy Allertor. :)

  • luv these sirens. i think the closest one to me is in texarkana tx

  • there was one in Hulen but its been removed.

  • Is it really mint green???

    That friggin rocks.

  • Favorite siren next to the Thunderbolt, good video!

  • wowa the color of this siren. I never seen a blue allertor. great video

  • Great video! Sounds very healthy! Long wind down i see. :)

  • I was in school during the test at Bloomington

  • Great video of the Allertor 125! It looks just like the one in Greenfield, WI.

  • Greenfield's used to be yellow and were painted blue. There are other pastel blue ones in Milwaukee, and a pastel green one too.

  • @carexpertandy

Holy crap, I remember now as a kid when I lived there and now that I think about it, the sirens i heard during thunderstorms sound exactly like this one

  • Excellent video! That Alertor sounds healthy! :)
