  • Jian Ghomeshi always makes the best interviews.

  • very very nice interview

  • Haha, look at 2:49, he looks terrible. I'm not a fan, but I don't like the Gallagher's way of treating people and stuff, particularly Liam's

  • Lol I love the little two and throw about singer/songwriters

  • The staring is weird? lol where are people suppose to look? the wall? Remember ppl if you are at a Noel Gallagher concert avoid looking at Noel Gallagher.

  • So Noel bought an iMac then :) Excellent choice.

  • I agree. Bowie is *not* a great singer.

  • Wow, really excellent interview by a guy who clearly has the intelligence to throw decent questions out there. This was a great joy to watch, and we got to see an honest and serious side to Noel. Excellent job.

  • possibly the cavett of this decade, Jian is! :-)

  • Jian does a fantastic job with interviews. Canada seems to have really strong interviewers, such as Nardwuar and Geroge on The Hour.

  • This is the first interview I've seen where the interviewer asked Noel genuine, penetrative musical questions. Usually when someone asks Noel a vague musical question he palms it off but this guy brought the intelligent side of Noel out which made for a great interview.

There's a tendency to see Noel as working class blagger who just has an ear for great songs but in fact he's a musical genius equal to many of the legends. More interviews like this would highlight it.

  • ...and Porn.

  • Oasis without Noel would be a joke.

  • I don't understand why all these interviewers are trying to have Noel explaining the musical transition from a solo album and an Oasis album, and on top of top they try to tell him he's contradicting himself hen he's not. It's a fucking solo album, people, of course it's gonna be different and he doesn't have to fucking explain the content, realization, nor personal input he added to it or the 2 years he was off. It's MUSIC by NOEL GALLAGHER. Show some respect, enjoy it, nod and smile..

  • "I don't regret a single note." Didn't he say that Be Here Now was a piece of s....?

  • NOEL FUCKING GENIUS!!!

  • Noel 'God' Gallagher

  • It's nice to see an interviewer asking good questions not just the dumb "Let's get who hates more lol!!!!1" Great Interview lads.

  • Liam doesn't like the video ,

  • now that was a fantastic interview

  • What did he say in 4:41 ?????? I hadn't done a great deal, but when i ???? all up.please tell me if u know.

  • @abughaben But when i totted it all up id made two albums had a baby moved house...

  • @MattSmith987 yeah, but it was strange to me to pronounce the last syllible (LED) , because that what gave it that lenght. Thanks for the reply

  • @abughaben totaled it all up

  • 17:30 OH SNAP. I mean, yeah. That's the thing. They're not OASIS song, they're his songs. He wrote them. Liam sang it. Completely different things. Finally

  • the interviewer guy is cute...

  • Noel, you're on the Internet. :O

  • "I'm not for the black leather jacket...."

  • Finally a reporter who makes good questions to Noel .

  • A very nice interview!

  • What does he say at 25:49 about "Uncle Liam"??

  • @theselector "You know what I mean, he'll freak out".

  • the death of you and me isnt stadium rock? who's booked you to support RHCP at croke park so Noel?....baffled!!!

  • @weskane23 He's also playing all the Big Day Out concerts in Australian & NZ. They usually get 80 - 120 thousand people per gig.

  • 24:49 Noel bought a Mac. Wise fella.. xD

  • This interviewer is an idiot mate. If it wasnt for Noel trying to boost up the atmosphere everyone would have fallen asleep. Oh wait, everyone does fall asleep in his other interviews

  • fantastic interview. his honesty abot life is refreshing. feet still firmly on the ground.

  • This is a phenomenal interview. Noel is one eloquent twat.

  • Great interview Noel and interviewer!!

  • Noel gives a great interview, but the interviewer here was great as well. Did his research and didn't ask the same 5 questions Noel's been asked by every interviewer before.

  • IT IS BELIEVED! By who?

  • Uncle Liam is teh man

  • We all know how important it is to Uncle Liam, ROFLLLLL

  • "with one of the founders of Oasis"...classic mistake. Noel was not one of the founders. Founders were Bonehead, Guigsy and Tony, then Liam came and gave the name Oasis.

  • @mancunianoasis Well said, sir. And duly noted.

  • @Qtv No way. It was Liam that named Oasis and it was before Noel got there. But Oasis wasn't Oasis until the songs met the attitude. Noel was a founder of what Oasis was.

A thing isn't founded in the moment it is named. It is founded with the thing comes together. It like saying that someone that organised a charity from the ground up isn't a founder because someone named to foundation before they were brought in

  • @GDFullOn Oasis weren't Oasis until the songs Noel got from the Griffiths. The Griffiths were the real founders of what Oasis were.

  • @mancunianoasis I thought the founders were the three and Liam and it was called "The Rain", and then when Noel came it they changed the name to Oasis. Wikipedia says so anyway.

  • @SelasSolaris do you learn things on the "Wikipedia"? The Wikipedia DOESN'T say so anyway. "Oasis evolved from an earlier band called The Rain, composed of McGuigan, Bonehead, McCarroll, Hutton. Unsatisfied with Hutton, Arthurs auditioned acquaintance Liam as a replacement. Liam suggested that the band name be changed to Oasis.

  • @mancunianoasis I do learn some things from wikipedia actually, it's a very good website with tons of information. I don't think it's a crime to learn things from wikipedia. Either way, Oasis would have been nothing without Noel, founder or not.

  • Comment removed

  • @mancunianoasis Liam gave the name The Rain, Noel was the one who named the band Oasis

  • @habstein no, it was Liam. The Rain existed BEFORE Liam coming. You're a classic Noel fan blinded by what he idolises. Then you have to correct the Wikipedia too, that doesn't even mention the Griffiths, who were much more founders than Noel. Withouth them, Oasis wouldn't have existed.

  • @mancunianoasis I admit that I was not there for the band at the very beginning. At that time, I was like 2 years old for god sake. So when I got so into Oasis music, I did what a "classic" fan would do: trying my best to get all the information I could get about the band. It's very nice of you to "correct" me, but really, I don't know whether what you said is true or it's you who got the wrong source. If you have any proof, like interviews or articles about this matter, please share with us (:

  • @habstein Jesus! wrong source?!?! any proof?!?! in which world do you live? I am a fan since 1994 and my website is on the official Oasis site since the '90s when internet started. If you want to get all the information, at least listen to what your idols say, read books about them, etc. or if you want to learn from the "Wikipedia", it's written the same thing there.

  • @mancunianoasis jeez, I can imagine that you're raging like my teacher on me not finishing my homework or sth, calm down.. I'm just a kid being eager to know more about my favorite band, that's all. It's embarrassing but guess the paper I read was wrong about that. It's a good thing that I won't make that mistake again from now on though.

  • @habstein calm down?! more than raging, I'm laughing at the new fans ignorance, blinded by what they idolise. At least learn the basics about your idols. It seems you discover today that the papers are full of bullshit. I guess you still have to know how Noel is a media darling... Another proof that people are gullible.

  • @mancunianoasis ok, good for you, you got a good laugh after all. It must be hilarious to see your reaction towards Mike Posner's cover of Wonderwall, j/k. It's like the worst cover of all time. And yes, I am a fan of Noel. I love his music and I don't really care much about the media things about him or Liam. They are brothers, they love each other and they're making good music. Music is what counts in the end.

  • @mancunianoasis Funny people using quotes by the artists they idolise to criticise people supporting the artists they idolise.

  • @GDFullOn funny people speaking about their idols without even knowing the basics about what they idolise.

  • @mancunianoasis Bullshit the Griffiths were founders of Oasis as much as Noel

They were influential in handful of songs of the first album but that is the extent of it. Oasis would have existed without the Griffiths though!

Oasis weren't founded when a name was put on it. They were founded when the attitude met the tunes and it all came together. Oasis were Oasis before the Griffiths but they weren't actually Oasis until Noel came with the songs.

  • @GDFullOn the Griffiths DIDN'T give the name Oasis. You don't even know the basics about your idols.

  • @mancunianoasis Interesting!!! , Who r the Griffiths?? Never heard of em.

  • @theselector says a lot about the ignorance of Noel fans...

  • @mancunianoasis What's that got to do with anything? I'm also a Liam and BE fan AND an Oasis fan but just coz I don't know EVERY SINGLE detail of their private or professional lives doesn't make me less of a fan than u. You brought The Griffiths up....so who the fuck r they?? Do u have any info or not??

  • @theselector I hope you're joking. Of course you're not. How old are you, 11? Any INFO? The Griffiths a DETAIL in Oasis?! Jesus, do you even call yourself an Oasis fan? Leave it now.

  • @mancunianoasis Hey man I didn't say The Griffiths were a DETAIL in Oasis. I merely stated that I don't know EVERY SINGLE detail of their private or professional lives. If u were referring to The Real People then why not call em "The Real People".....that was the name of their band was it not? Sure they were important in the early yrs , more so as producers and advisers , but they never wrote the songs. Noel et al have aknowledged their help and support and they in turn have recognised thegenius

  • @mancunianoasis yeah, but the founder of success its noel. i cant imagine a successful oasis w/o noel

  • @Pinkchyo yeah, Oasis wouldn't even have been known without Liam. That's why in your profile you wrote that you like "Marihuana". You're 22 years old, so in 1994 you were 5, so there's no point in talking about Oasis history with someone who had his nappies changed.

  • @mancunianoasis THATS JUST THE MOST STUPID POINT EVER! MY AGE HAS NOTHING TO WITH MY KNOWLEDGE TOWARDS THE BAND, A LOT OF MUSICOLOGISTS WERE JUST KIDS IN THE 50 OR 60 AND YET THEY KNOW EVERITHING ABOUT HENDRIX, THE BEATLES OR THE STONES. ITS JUST SAD TO KNOW YOUR OLDER THAN ME AND MAYBE DUMBER THAN ME.

  • @Pinkchyo uh! capital letters, I'm so scared. Be careful 'cause your bullshit are even more highlighted now. The difference with you is that they studied the history of music, you didn't.

  • @Pinkchyo "Your Name is Nestor. You are just another dreamer in this world. You like; sex, poetry, some Marihuana, and music. You are friendly, honest, some sense of humor and kind(specially to girls)." ahahaha only 1 Oasis video? Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Bon Jovi, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Coldplay, Rage Against The Machine, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Guns'N'Roses, Heroes del Silencio, AC/DC, etc...It seems you're eveything except an Oasis fan.

  • @Pinkchyo I tell you: we Oasis fans are famous for liking especially Oasis, above all. They even mock us 'cause they say "we like Oasis only". In fact, we know everything about them, not these terrible mistakes about the history basics I read here. Your idol Noel wouldn't be happy of you listening to metal and those things, he hates them. Especially Bon Jovi, he can't stand them, 'cause they copied a song from him (the contrary never happened with anyone eh), a song he hated.

  • @Pinkchyo when I didn't know anything about the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, etc. I DIDN'T go around saying bullshit and saying that I knew everything. Then I STUDIED their lives and history. You DIDN'T. Not yet.

  • @mancunianoasis man, Liam founded with the other three guys a band called THE RAIN. Noel really was the last one to join the band that would record Definitely Maybe, but 'Oasis' is a name suggested by the Chief, the guy that is being interviewed above our comments.

  • @putaquepariu90 when I read "90", I immediately thought: here's some more bullshit. In fact, I can't tell you "man". So, kid, Liam DIDN'T found ANY band called the Rain. The Rain was founded by Guigsy, Tony and Bonehead, and the singer was Chris Hutton. Once again, the name Oasis was given by LIAM, every Oasis fan knows this, also Noel knows this. You're not an Oasis fan.

  • @mancunianoasis Yes, Noel was the last member to Join Oasis, before it became what it was. But he eventually became the essence of Oasis and defined their sound.

  • @blackcuve thanks, I didn't know. For 20 years I thought it was Bonehead.

  • @mancunianoasis Actually I think you will find that Liam Bonehead Tony and Guigsy were the founders of a band called "Rain" not Oasis, Noel joined the band and re named it Oasis

  • @Karomarr AGAIN: NO. Liam came when there were ALREADY a band called Rain, and the singer was Chris Hutton. LIAM gave the name Oasis, from a poster he had seen, there was written "Oasis Leisure Centre, Swindon".

  • @mancunianoasis Correct pal : ) Didn't Noel sack the original members? Chris Hutton and someone else? lol

  • @danmancmufc absolutely not, there was no Chris Hutton when Noel arrived

  • @mancunianoasis OK mate, get that stick out of your arse lol. See you at Heaton Park for The Roses! You think Noel will be there?

  • @danmancmufc of course, to mock scum united losers

  • @mancunianoasis haha scum. you're funny you bertie's. c u in May when we're liftin the Prem and you can apologise to me at Heaton, and buy me a beer, and let me punch you.

  • @danmancmufc c u? apologise to u? punch me? My club is called AC Milan, 18 international trophies. You? oh 7. It will take centuries for you. Dream on baby

  • @danmancmufc 24 years old, fucking hell, now I see

  • @danmancmufc see you on Thursday on Channel 5...

  • @mancunianoasis AC Milan? WTF? Fuck off to Italy.

  • wow, fantastic interview!

  • Noel always gives good interviews, new record is kind of boring tho...

  • @villah Disagree, about the album I mean. I love every second of it and it's far superior to Beady Eye's first effort imo.

  • werner herzog rules

  • I absolutley love him.

  • Interesting
