Close race... The focus rs would have faired a little better but the st is still sick. Too many people have sti's but that one is sick with the bug eyes. Like it better than the new ones. Probably faster than the new one too.
Having owned a Subaru sti and currently own a focus st, the scoob was a wrx and not an sti, both cars are great, both quick. Having owned both cars, a real Subaru sti would beat the st. But all depends on the driver !!
The scooby is an STi.... people who don't know much bout subarus think that just because it has a small spoiler, it's a regular WRX. Well this is the V7 STi. Another small difference is that you would see the little sidemarker off on the drivers side door, behind the wheel (starting at :34-:38) that's usually how you would know it's an STi out of the U.S.

i dont no 1 sti which has the smaller spoiler sure the high rise spoliers are be all and end all on an sti thats what gives its styling differences to a wrx....sti has brembo brakes,larger scoop,larger spolier..and thats probly about it as well as the seats and extra power...so who ever thinks this is an sti is bloody stupid cuz my 2004 sti when standard pissed on an st now shes running 320bhp i had an rs the orther nite....i use to own a mk1 focus rs..and u just cant beat big power with 4wd

Guy's, seriously the scooby is out dated i can sit in my lounge and can hear when one goes by, i don't however hear an ST or a M3 both these motors would take the scooby and hang it out to dry, i myself have chased 3 scooby's and flashed them all with no response and thats a square go on a motorway with pure drag.... i will take vid cam with me next time and capture the proof.

@windmd So you're admitting is an ST is only quick in a straight line once rolling? I own a 290bhp WRX and have driven an ST with similar power. My WRX would muller the ST off the line, although from a rolling (30mph+) start the ST would be faster due to not having the AWD drivetrain losses. You've obviously never driven a Subaru as it does take a degree of skill when cornering hard in the wet due to the tendency to understeer. .
