  • basically you build little tabs behind the round part of the joint... it's sort of hard to explain. I'll try to make a video of it sometime. :3

  • Can I just ask, how do you get them to stand on their own?

  • @Glisean BJDs in general have feet that are more proportional to their bodies than say, fashion dolls. In general to get one to stand you place their feet on the ground, hold their feet with one hand and then gently move their upper body until you feel their center of balance, then carefully let go and they stand. Lagoon has locks in her knees to help her stay stable, so she stands on a variety of surfaces in different poses.

  • @batchix psh, apparently i like to say "in general." XDDD

  • @batchix That's really cool. How did you get locks in her knees? Sorry I'm asking a lot of questions I just really think it's awesome.

  • :> My Dream is to order one of your dolls

  • @MiiilkyChan awww thanks! :D <3

  • is there a way to make it so you cannont remover her head? so it cannont be changed?

  • @taurusmorris If you weren't able to remove the head you wouldn't be able to change the stringing. The elastic eventually wears out, so being able to change it is important. If you could do an internal skeletal system, like what the Volks Dollfie Dream V2 has you wouldn't need that, but that's a lot of engineering that i'm not sure of how to do.

  • How tall is Lagoon?I don't own any female dolls and would love one to match my SD or MSD boys! She is pwetty!

I've always been into sculpting in clay... would love to learn this!

  • @sapphirexwind Lagoon is about 42cm tall. She's a little bit shorter and slimmer than other 42cm mature minis. :3 i'm glad you like her! :D Good luck with your sculpting!

  • Yeah they really seem very nice! I'm also trying to learn how to make BJD dolls and my problem now is casting :P i'm not sure is my mold material any good or do i make mistakes in molding. Can you tell some advice about molding bjd dolls? :D

  • Wait, you made this dolls? o_____o

  • @tiamira These**

  • @tiamira Yup! I made the mini-machina and I made Lagoon. I've also made Machina Alpha and Machina Gamma. There's a few other BJDs that i made and cast, but those were very small numbers and are hard to find.

  • @batchix Woa, that's amazingly stunning. Such art!

  • I would love to know where you send your dolls for casting ?????? I have to know !!!! pretty please with sugar on top ( tee hee ) thanks much ... I love the videos

  • Where did you send it to get it cast. Ive been trying to find a place

  • i'm so amazed! this is amazing!

  • Thanks for the quick reply! :) I thought they might not be quite as strong. I tried to work with super sculpey originally with my first attempt but it just...wasn't turning out how I hoped. And I was having a super hard time figuring out how to make a core/what to make cores out of and then how to remove them once the clay was baked.

  • @PlayWithDynamite I'm glad you like her! Good luck! :D <3

  • Are the first two examples you show (when you're talking about junk casts) what material are those dolls? Are they still the paperclay?I' m brand new to BJD's and I'm trying to learn. I'm not as interested in casting really. I like the idea of making OOAK dolls more I think. I was trying to figure out if it's possible to make a finished doll with the paperclay...I also have DAS & Premier to work with as a possibility. Your videos are SO helpful and inspiring! :) Thanks so much!

  • @ktewinc One is Alumilite Resin and the other is a resin doll made by the casting company I use. You could make OOAK dolls out of paperclay or super sculpey but you'll have a varying degree of durability and neither product would be as strong as a resin one. A paperclay doll you wouldn't be able to play with or redress much at all, it'd be super delicate. A super sculpey one less so, but you can't string them tightly or the SS will break. DAS might be okay, i don't know. :S

  • I absolutely love your doll :D i like how crisp the casted doll looks. where did you send her to get professionally casted? In terms of the company?

  • she's beautiful ;[];

if i had her, i would cosplay her as the "queen" from Kuroshitsuji

  • @KATT718 thank you! <3 <3 i like the costumes in Kuroshitsuji. one of my friends did a great Ciel. so much pretty!

  • @batchix is there a video of it?

  • @KATT718 I don't know.. i can't remember what con she wore that costume for. i'm sorry! ;o;//

  • i want to learn how to create my own dolls but i dont know how nor where to start...did you take courses or learned on your own?

will lagoon come with accessories such as hair and eyes?

  • @UntoldDarkness66 I've got some tutorials here and on DA. No one taught me anything in person, I looked at what had been done, what materials i had, and refused to give up when i was discouraged. X3 which was often.

Lagoon comes with a face-up and eyes only. I'm looking to get an outfit made to sell separately, but not until i meet my order goal. :3

  • @batchix if i made an outfit for the doll that i want to order, does it matter what kinds of fabrics i use or does it have to be special?

  • @UntoldDarkness66 i'm not sure I understand what you're asking... You can make doll clothes out of any kind of fabric. thinner fabric works better, i like light weight cottons and knits. Silk is great as well. I've often torn up old clothes that don't fit and made doll clothes from that! I usually make a first try out of cheaper fabric so if I mess up I'm not wasting the good stuff. :3

  • @batchix it's because i read in a BJD online shop that the dolls had to be dressed with the clothes they sold because the dolls can be stained with certain fabrics and hair...that's why i was asking.

  • @UntoldDarkness66 Oh! I see! Black clothing can stain. You want to pre-wash any fabric you use, especially black. I usually wash black stuff several times. I've heard that rinsing black clothing with vinegar can help the dye to set and not stain... but then you smell like vinegar. X3

  • how much did it cost to get it done?

  • @giarose451 I don't feel really comfortable discussing the production cost, but it's enough that I'm strapped at the moment.
