Thank you for the video about Mayakovsky's deep love to "muse of Russian avant-garde"(Pablo Neruda) unusual
Lilia (Kogan) Brik ( Brik for the first husband),the sister of Elsa Triolet who was a girl- friend of Mayakovsky and met Vladimir with Lilia(Later Elsa was Louis Aragon's wife and a notable French writer).
Wow ! I got chills. The poem and the reading were both what the Russians call "душещипательные" which literally means "soul-pinching". Thank you for posting this gem.
Great post, however fleeting! A reminder how some peoples DO hold their poets in the highest esteem. ...once, as any rate. I doubt Putin has ever seriously read Pushkin, Mayakovsky or even Yevtushenko!
Erika, thanks for posting this documentary about one of my favorite Russian poets. BTW I loved the lesser known poem he wrote about the Brooklyn Bridge. Most people think of Hart Crane's bridge, but Mayakovsky in his journey to America in the early 20th century fell in love with our industry and engineering and the chronicles of his visit are a good read.
Hola Erika, como no entendía lo que pone en el video, lo he buscado y me ha parecido fascinante la vida de V. Mayakovsky, que intenso debió de ser, y aún así, nunca debió sentirse satisfecho de todo lo que hizo porque se suicidó.
beautiful
