Yeah, but people hate hearing that in a crisis. Why do you think in zombie movies there's that one person who thinks they can reason with them still? Reality is harsh. Lee is being realistic. There's a difference between the harsh realist and the asshole who causes fights for no reason. Lee is the former.

You do have to burn dead bodies, though, or freeze them, or bury them. But by now the corpses would already be rotting and invested.
