They both have the same engine. Only variables are the trans. and driver reaction time. Weight I believe is very similar too so by the numbers, the GLI would win. Both really nice tho, I'd take either....
I have manual 2.0T Jetta and we just tried the same thing with my gf's auto 06 Passat and it was pretty close, but Jetta was always ahead at any speed.
It may be slower, but it's a bit of a luxury car too, which is where the weight comes in. The Passat is just a much nicer car. I love mine. I'd never take a Jetta over a Passat, not ever.
i can't help it they are idiots. when i drove the GLI and my bro drove the passat we ran three races. 1 head up till we had to hit the brakes, race 2 went to the GLI and race 3 was the passats. so they are a lot closor than we thought.

front mount intercooler would be a great mod but would eat your budget. turbo back exhaust would be a really nice power increase, cold air intake would help your turbo spool quicker, the chip for the cars is nice but at 600 plus install i would buy intake and exhaust then the chip. after that you will need to do a big front mount intercooler upgrade to prevent heat soak.
u have no idea what ur saying. you buy software first for vw's, then downpipe. cat backs just for the sound the dp is where the power is. lol u dont need a big fmic
im in the process of building my passat for better power. what chip do u recommend? i just ordered my full apr turboback exhaust and atp downpipe. but i was sure what chip i should go with, or should i go ahead and get completely new engine management system?
i hear apr is more drive able. i guess it depends on what he wants to do. personnaly i was leaning towards apr cus the ease of adding to it. how much more aggressive is revo?
