Hey Betty , I used some Turkey Bacon and some dried beef. Like 1/2 of the chicken had dried beef and the other 1/2 had Turkey Bacon. Of course , I am the one who enjoyed the chicken with Turkey Bacon in it. I just used colored toothpicks so the family could tell the difference ;-) ... For my topping , I used Provolone cheese, something that was a request. It just came out perfect. Thanks, Betty...you are such an inspiration to me and your cooking helps me to be productive =)
Hey Betty , I actually used Turkey Bacon and dried beef. Like 1/2 and 1/2. I just put colored toothpicks on the pieces with the Turkey Bacon in it. The whole family enjoyed this ...Thanks so much! Kimberley =)
Do you think using ham in the center would end up with too salty a product, considering the bacon, at the end? I'm liking the beef idea, but wondering about making two varieties? P.S. The precooking the bacon is such a good idea. WIsh I would have thought of that one :)
I've made it with the ham and also with the dried beef. They are about equally salty in taste. If you're watching salt, of course, you know that country ham would not be as good a choice as deli (or home baked) ham. You can always put less bacon at the end to cut down on salt, too. You always have such insightful comments! Thanks!!!
good and easy to cook, i really like this cause i cook the same dinner every night and my family is really picky and this chicken looks so good!, I will definitely try this tomorow.

@angelrain1216 Sure. I would cook it first until browned, but not crisp.

My friend makes this and adds cream cheese to the gravy mixture as well. It really gives it a great flavor.
