McDonald in Iceland had to import all its meat and simply wasnt able to compete with franchises who bought local and much cheaper icelandic meat. Personally Im KFC man and they are still around :)

@imaginepeace63 Well I'm glad you have the option of working somewhere else, but some people don't. Their entry level positions are perfect for some high school kid that needs to get some work experience. They also have management training programs if anybody stays longer than the US average of 18 months. If you don't like their food DON'T EAT IT! Nobody is putting a gun to anybody's head for it. Just because youare able to turn down a low paying job, doesn't mean that somebody else can.

@NGMan62 My diet will help me live longer than you. I did have high cholesterol at one doctor's physical. I added more veggies to my diet. I cook with sunflower oil instead of butter. I eat less Steak and Pork. I eat chicken. I eat mostly fruit and cereal for breakfast. My doctor says my cholestrol level went down. So my diet will make me live longer than you

Well. I'm sure eventually some new restaurant / coffee house will open up to take on the customers that these closings will leave behind. Hopefully they will serve more healthy food, and hopefully it won't take too long so the people losing their jobs can get right back to work....

Well, maybe, I think it is mainly the cheap food that allows these company's to continue profiting. It is also the in'greed'ience used that seem to be addictive to the taste. Non of it is actual food but food by-product 'substances' instead.
