  • great job my friend pete....our friend pete....our best friend pete....our only best friend pete.......

  • danm these small message blocks

another thing for the newbie home painters with smaller size compessors.

if you find you are getting loads or orange peel because of air presure drop due to a small air tank, with you full size paint gun, try changing to a Minigun, they have a great fan size and use much less air so you can get more painted at the correct pressure, will take a few more coats as they will be thinner, but sor base coats they work great on blend ins

  • another thing i found helps alot for a good shine is getting the base coat as flat as possible, if any newbies find that they put on the base and its kinda orange peely, normally it would be ok to clear that and buff it but its still got an orange peel you cant get to,

use a 3M micro fine sponge pad to take down some of the peel, if its a solid colour base you can clear over that, if its a pearl, metallic or any other than solid then do a final super smooth base coat to reaquire the finish

  • Looking good, can't wait to see it finished

  • cool pete, heres a little tip for you, as you say the regular tack rags are far too gluey for wiping down the basecoat , have you tried the aqua tack rags? they are specially for waterbourne paints and have next to or no glue on them.

they are my choice of tack rag for both solvent and waterbourne

check some out if you not seen them, same goes for anyone else thats not been using waterbourne,

still prefer solvent paint over waterbourne

  • Between you and Pete you could write an Encylopedia 'O' automotive body repair and paint.

  • looking nice. thanks Pete.
