@jacquesferreira I have a Hilux and am trading it soon on an Amorok, the Hilux has caused me problems....Toyota is not what it used to be. They are looking bloody dated too. I test drove an Amarok recently and there is no comparison, Amarok is bigger and better.

This is not a fair comparison. You are comparing a 2006/2007 Hilux with a 2010 Amarok. If you really want a comparison, then compare the new Hilux with the Amarok. I love Toyota, I drive a Hilux, but Amarok is stealing a lot hearts world wide china.

saliendo de las discuciones, el tema es que el que opina en este caso yo tengo una amarok, es muy linda, elegante todo, buenisima, pero a la hora de cambiar me fui a la puta no tiene precio de rventa, la propia casa no me apoyo m tasaron bajisimo para el cambio, ensima que deje mejor cuando la retire con todos los chiches, cuide no sirvio de nada, y un vecino mio compro una hilux hasta la fecha no pierde valor en la casa tasan altisimo, alguien de la VW me responde DNDE STA EL PUTO PROBLEMA
Tengo una amarok y un corolla. La amarok es muy buena camioneta, me encanta...mas que la hilux. Pero toyota tiene una calidad infernal, el corolla es 2005...tiene 180.000 km, es un auto que lo llevamos al campo muchisimo tiempo, y la verdad que no se afloja...el auto no hacen un solo ruido, ni los paneles, ni el torpedo, ni las puertas...parece 0 km. Y la hilux tiene mucha de esa calidad, que amarok no tiene por mas linda y buena que sea la camioneta.
vivi en experiencia propia las 2 camionetas, y dejenme decirles que la toyota es ampliamente superior, y si hablamos de motor la toyota le gana con freno de mano puesto, eso si de confort la amarok mil veces
y para rematar la volvieron elegante y agresiva ...es trochera...no me arrepiento de mi amarok.......toyota hilux...es un dinosaurio......es un modelo algo viejo y muy rustico...eso no le quita lo bueno...pero hay que reconocer que vw la supero con creces.

@rayzoorg Las amarok tienen mas problemas que viejo de 90 años en la Antartida. Conosco mucho que llevaron a la agencia la amarok para comprar la hilux, VW vendio la mitad que Toyota. Ah! y en velocidad final la hilux se come a la amarok, ahora la hilux con ESP, Control de traccion, LCD, cuero, asistencia de frenado, le golpea mas fuerta a Vw!

@rayzoorg Aca en Argentina no viene con LCD(es una boludes igual), reconosco que el interior de la VW es muchisimo mejor que la Toyo, que los de Toyota son re avaros, ni un puto airbag mas le meten, ahora tiene abs con control de frenado pero sin disco atras :S, al margen sigue siendo la primera en ventas, con el doble de ventas que VW. Y muchos con Vw cambian a Toyota por problemas en el motor, ruidos, etc. Lo malo de la VW,NEW RANGER es que nadie quiere ser el primer boludo en probarla.
la volskwagen amarok tiene mas clase y mas cosas que las otras camionetas....para el idiota que dijo que el amarok de vw es gay....no sabe nada de nada..partiendo de que la amarok es tomada del modelo hilux de toyota pero con la diferencia que es algunas pulgadas mas grande...tiene un motor 1000cm3 mas pequeño que la hilux osea 2.0 y trabaja con 2 turbos que hacen la misma cantidad de caballos que la hilux..osea 163 y en algunas versiones 183..vw tomo lo mejor de las otras y asi nacio el amarok.
el que tiene dinero, se compra un buen vehiculo, el que no tiene dinero se compra toyota o nissan los vehiculos mas baratos...toyota=carro bonito y barato...volkswagen =elegancia, fuerza...toyota tiene fallas, hasta el prius tiene fallas, en usa causo 4 accidentes con familias fallecidas...toyota is a shit...
Toyota has proven it's durability and performance through the years. It is without doubt a class leader. The 4x4 ability is exellent with torque available low in the rpm range (3.0d4d) and I have great respect for it. On the other hand, the VW Amarok is new to the market in SA, it is unmistakeably a beautifull bakkie, with the best fuel consumption in it's class. It destroyes the Hilux with its fuel consumption. A tough call to make. For a family bakkie, I will most likely choose the Amarok.

Majority prefers the hilux, read fortune magazine dec.2010 issue, its all there! so irregardles of mechanical functions, safety, efficiency, size and design, specifications, power & torques etc etc etc, people still choose the hilux.

A family truck can be a Honda Ridgeline or a Chevy Avalanche, but the Amarok has the same or better contruction structure, FYI, with a more powerful engine (less displacement, same power than the HIlux, more Torque = More powerful and more efficient). Well the first song I used is a very local South African song that many people knows of in SA. They always use it when celebrating our national heritage day thats in September every year. I thought of giving the Amarok a local twist.
The Hilux I used the National with "Fake Empire" meaning that we are very much use to only support one brand in South Africa when it comes down to bakkies and thats Toyota. Not a bad a bakkie but change is good...

One full tank in the Amarok can run over 1000Km, can you do that with the Hilux? NO
The Amarok has 400 Nm of Torque, how many Nm the Hilux has? 343Nm, almost 60Nm less, and when it comes to towing, torque commands!!
Off road capabilities?, Amarok is 4Motion, Hilux has a dated dual stiff differencial, nothing compared with the 4Motion system. FYI, Kid!
