Why is it ur photos are so good but the video picture always seems to be so gray?

They are two different cameras! If you're really interested to know the technical details then I suggest you read up about digital photography and why it's not the same quality as digital videography.

I know what you mean, I wish I could afford a HD camera but I can't, that would have the same quality as my digital still camera!

I use Olympus IR-300 which is a digital camera and the quality is equal to an HD camera. As i do close ups, It seems to be blurred but for a full face video it's super!! Therefore i'm convinced that the quality depends the brand more than the technology.
