I have in-dash gps. I connected the camera's power to the Reverse light (wire) also. It works fine, but not sure if that's the ideal set up.
Where do you guys usually run the wire coming from the in-dash camera to the back? Like the Blue wire (reverse). I installed it under the carpet of the car, and it touches the body of the car. Is that safe? Or should I use a heavy duty wire?
You can also run the camera power to the cigarette lighter plug to give it power. The reverse light works but sometimes can cause interference in the camera image. Running the wire under the carpet is ok. it will not harm anything.
I'm picking up a 2010 mustang gt next spring and i was looking around for a perfect backup camera to install. I'm not sure if i want to do the wireless, but any suggestions will be helpful.

Thanks catch9966. So if I connect the camera's power to the lighter, then it's always on. Right?
Can I tap it to the radio's power (positive)? And just ground the negative wire?

correct just tap the positive. the camera will turn on with the vehicle ignition...

How did you enable the option? Mind sharing?

you need to plug a module in behind the radio which enables all the functions.
