  • The trombone player looks like Django Reinhardt lol

  • Thanks, 4205Ir, I love the Big Bands of 40´ 50´ and I see you are an expert.

  • Please, friends, who is the trombone player ? Carlos, from Brasil

  • @abreuferreira1 The trombonist is Harry Di Vito.

  • Ray could entertain you with his drums AND songs. Yet he could hit the licks with the sticks on "Down The Road Apiece"heard ..and have you his.."Comin' Out"...wowo-nice!.

  • Love this great happy tune. Real N.O. Thank you so much!

  • This is my favorite kind of jazz. And this is coming from a guy who listens to heavy metal almost 24/7. I wish we still had music like this around.

  • At his era my dad Bobby Nichols was the number one trumpet player in the work.

Artie Shaw, Tex Benekie, Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Edit Sautuer-the real genius behind Glenn with Bill Finnegan.

  • Kickin' dat trad - we're all going mad! Hallelullia! C'mon!

  • I loved this rendition of the great old tune written by Lil Hardin (one of Louis Armstrong's wives) who played piano with the King Oliver band at one time. Lil was so talented and really was "the woman behind the man" during Louis's early days and rise to fame later.

  • This is a fun song by talented musicians, no doubt. But everyone who likes it owes it to themselves to see the "related" vid of Louis Armstrong's 1950s band blowing it through the roof.

  • You'll notice how they don't have to have a gazillion mics all over the place; they just use two and it sounds just fine.

  • @SatchmoSings It's some kind of law of nature: the more complicated recording technology gets, the worse music becomes.

  • @TheSanityInspector Man, you've just told one of the mightest Truth I've ever heard

  • @TheSanityInspector No truer words were ever spoken. However, if you have the right playback equipment, those old records can sound reeeeal good. I rarely play my CDs.

  • Great Band!!!,,,

  • Great video. Does anyone know when and where this was performed?

  • Thank you for this great video. McKinley was truly a great drummer and was a great leader. I especially enjoyed Bobby Nichols....wow could he ever blow that horn! Whatever happened to him? He was one of the best.

  • Any more of this brilliant drummer ( and band ) Wonderful!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great stuff! I wish people would disengage McKinley from Glenn Miller--he was so much more than a drummer for Glenn for a few years. He lead some superlative groups over many years that very much had their own characteristic styles. (For my money far more interesting and less commercial than anthing Glenn ever did).

  • Great. He lived in Largo, Fl. Led the Miller Band, and danced to his music. Another great performer and very personable.

  • what a blast
