  • Thats a good working fire.

  • Comment removed

  • Shit. All you have is an outside attack on this one.

  • 3:46 is satan coming out of the window D:

  • yo this is crazy

  • As usual the fire experts pop up in the comments.

  • @jacobeast What is the accident rate like in the Chicago department (ie fire-fighters injuries?)

  • @jacobeast1 It took you so long to get the water on the fire, and then people are saying put up a tower. In the UK the fire crews would have been able to see that the property was not savable and would have assumed a defensive stance (preventing the fire from spreading) In your video the crews don't contain the fire and the adjacent building sufferers damage from radiated heat and a minor fire is started....... Plus the Americans have an obsession with sending mass amounts of engines to fires.

  • @epiccat12 I assume you noticed guys ripping down fence to get lines through to the fireground; it ain't always easy to get water. And that you missed the two handlines alternating between the firebuilding and exposures. There's no way to avoid the heat from a fire that involved radiating. The fact that the two exposures still stand when they should've gone up speaks for itself. Chicago is a 1st rate dept right up with FDNY and LAFD; we know what we're doing. The more the better. And safer.

  • All I got to say is great job on video. I thought Firefighter were all brothers and sisters, way your acting is a complete down grade to everyone who puts on a fire fighting uniform, Volunteer bash Paid ,, paid bashes volunteer What is wrong in with you guys, some im from NY oh we do this. Great do it your way and they do it there. were here to watch videos and ask question not bash or else were just like politicians. Ny runs 10 guys on a truck great vols lucky to get 4 guys. Long live Forestry.

  • @mrtraiffic Which is why we can mount an aggressive interior attack and vollies stand around outside and operate handlines. That's why we get the manpower we get. All that's expected of a volly around here is to stay the fuck out of our way while we get the job done right.

  • @jacobeast1 What do you people have against volunteers?

  • @engine12f Tired of the complaints of how good the FDNY has it because we have a full crew. All 6 of the men on the rig GO IN. To hear vollies complain about how they don't have enough guys when all they do is stand outside and surround and drown will piss off any fireman who has soot on his helmet.

  • @jacobeast1 i like volunteering i hope to make firefighting my career. and what makes you think we complain..im talking about my department

  • @engine12f Best of luck to you. Hope you make it. You'll feel the same way if you get on paid somewhere.

  • @jacobeast1 i will always be a volunteer at heart...and thanks

  • @engine12f Okey dokey. But don't forget we paid guys have to actually GO IN to fires, not operate handlines from outside. We'll see what you have to say when you're in an 800 degree room doing a search.

  • @jacobeast1 we dont have to do searches very often most of the people in our territor have enough brains to get out..we do fight fires inside buildings.

  • @engine12f Wow, you must have some sort of great equipment that tells you everyone is out when you pull up so a search isn't necessary. A search should ALWAYS be made; you CANNOT TRULY KNOW a burning structure is empty unless you check it yourself. And your question about paid guys having "something against volunteers"? Stupid statements like"we don't have to do searches very often" because "people in our territory have enough brains to get out" is exactly why.

  • @jacobeast1 We might get 1 struckture fire in our territory in 2 years....and you are right you never truly know in the struckture is clear... most of our calls are car accidents.

  • God you americans have strange ways of doing things!

  • @epiccat12 What's so strange about putting water on a fire?

  • this is the chicago fire i thought the whole city was on fire and burned like hell

  • why are they worried about the fully involved structure. Protect ur exposures, get sum 2 1/2 or sum master streams and keep a good fog pattern between the involved structure and the exposures

  • @powerstrokedually What would a fog pattern do between the two structures?? Radiant heat penetrates through a fog stream and can still cause the other structure to burn. Oh, and it's spelled S-O-M-E, not SUM.

  • I would have liked to see some one get a pike pole and move that ladder off the front of this house to get it out of the way and keep it from getting damaged. Turned last I saw it was fine. I was also wondering why the video did not show what was being done on the rear and side exposers. Good video over all though. How many co.'s were there for this 2Nd alarm. I am not fermiller with Chicagos alarm assingments. What time of year did this fire happen?

  • me being a firefighter they should of first of all looked for over heads and really focused on the other buildings and put water on the one thats on fire

  • Thanks for these vid man :)

  • It's obvious that this house could not be saved, the fire was too big. Most important in this case was to stop the spread of flames to avoid losing the houses and the stuff nearby. Very impressive video, hello from France :)

  • yeah buddy shes rockin!

  • i realize the place can't be saved but they stand around and screw around and do squat.

My main focus would be to connect the water FAST and get that fire out FAST so it doesn't spread instead of dickin around

  • @garycalgary

Yea...You have alot of Opinions On Stuff Gary...Grow so Balls and Post a REAL Video on your Page Dude

You have None...DO you Jump around and Leave Shitty Comments for Everyone Videos Cause you cant Make a Video...Why Dont you make a Video and Let me Be Gary and I Will Give You My 2 Cents..

How Much Pot do you Smoke?

  • @7089540230 but what you obviously don't realize is that the scene has to be safe as well... they all have to make sure that they are all safe as well and if is extremely hard to do this with not enough manpower and with the main exposure having two other exposures to worry about

  • @7089540230 well said

  • @7089540230 you shouldnt bring weed into this. im not trying to start a fight but i know plenty of people who smoke weed and are fine. even i do it before i play rugby and i notice that i play a lot better. im not saying this for everyone, some people are fucked up that smoke. but its not as bad as a lot of people say.

  • @deekamikaze

thanks for your input...im fine and i have smoked weed for 20 years

  • @deekamikaze : Now that is the sign of ignorance, weed does very bad damage to anyone that smokes it.

  • @JamesLProductions You are too stupid to even speak. Just leave...

  • @deekamikaze this from the person who smokes weed and thinks its safe. And no I'm not stupid, I'm doing my Paramedic Science degree, so if you think I'm stupid you have another thing coming!

  • @JamesLProductions weed does bad damage? why is it if i have my stomach hurts from food or whatever or if i have a headache and i smoke weed i feel instantly better? weed is a medicine that people like you are scared of. its ok i dont give a fuck what you might think about it. garaunteed you've never smoked it. my parents have been smoking it for over 40 years (both in their 50s) and they're healthy then most in their 50s. could be genetics but they look good for their age.

  • @JamesLProductions you an assume shit allday about things you know nothing about. laws scare people. alcohol does way more damage then weed. getting a hangover the next day from alcohol is fucked, you know its doing damage. thats why i dont drink but when i used to get hangovers weed would get rid of any headache and id instantly feel better and not have to waste a day lying around. weed should be legalized and alcohol illegalized for all i give a fuck

  • @7089540230 wtf does weed have to do with anything? are you a firefighter or cop? quick to blame something that didnt have to do with anything. gary is right about the slow reaction of those guys. maybe if they were baked they'd work faster

  • @garycalgary

    Now Say Your Sorry

  • @garycalgary how are they standing around when they are getting a flow on there? i dont see how thts dickin round at all?! do u have enough balls to do this?

  • @garycalgary haha you're so uneducated on the fire service, the Chicago fire dept. is one of the most prestigious departments in the world, and when a home is this well involved and they switch to defensive tactics they did everything they could. far from just standing around.. just stop talking.

  • @garycalgary shut your faggoty canadian ass up you do realize men were surrounding that shit and at ANY time that shit came blow the fuck up.. all it takes is one tank of gas you mother fucker

  • @garycalgary yes I totally agree when arriving on scene you are to inspect the damage and near by strucers threaten then get guys into place and put water on the fire saving near by buildings. if their is a road on the back send a crew and two engines to the back to control it and watch for spot fires. Also with the fire really Going it would not hurt to start watching and being cautious of the house falling, This department needs a little more training after watching this video and house fire.

  • @garycalgary Name one second in this video where you see a firefighter standing around doing nothing or fooling around?

    Seriously tell me where?

  • 余りにも行動が遅いし消火が下手

  • y did it take so long for line 2 to get water running to it

  • @BigT58609 the engine has to prime the pump (Get the power to pump the water) so that the water flows at a high enough pressure

  • what year is this?

  • to any Chicago guys... do you guys still wear the hip boots and 3/4 coats?

  • @133ff26 I believe there are a mix of the full turnout gear and 3/4 w/hips in chicago. Depends on location and station?

  • Here's the aftermath:

    bit.ly[slash]bO69mI

    (Google Street View)

  • get tower set it up get a tiller set it up towards the back of the house and spray in the windows

  • @darrian278 shut up

  • @pkwjr

  • in mexicali go to inside!!!!!!whath hapenn in america ...

  • tht would be such a scary job

  • @NOLIMIT331 nah..its awesome!! best and only job i would ever do!

Its such a thrill to know your making a difference in someones life each day.

    REMEMBER THE 343.

  • They should of set up a tower. Your department have one? Check out my vid they have towers set up.

  • @FDNYresponsechannel

this fooatge was filmed from the rear of the home

tower ladder was set up in the front of house

  • O Alright

  • Everyone that wasn't there is a critic...

  • That's a barn burner right there.

  • FD does not look efficient...

  • @Canada Rules 4Ever That's a pretty harsh critique by someone watching from the SAFETY of there living room.

  • @CanadaRulez4Ever Because you were there and know everything that was happening right? Also, you've had the exact same scenario with the exact same conditions and done it better right?

  • Nice Catch, What Camera are you using here?

  • I feel so fucking sorry for the occupants of that house.

  • @Jemalacane it was a historical building. vacant.

  • @elementfreak1344 If this house were vacant, then how did it catch on fire if no one was living there to accidentally start it?

  • @TheWaynelds It was being renovated.

  • It gets so hot being next to a fire that big. It feels weird.

  • why is there no ladder ????

  • @MehrDrogen

this view is the back of the house...there was a tower ladder set up in the front

home was vacant and unstable for ground ladders

  • @7089540230

    ah ok

    thx

  • Why do you not allow comments about the rollover you caught on dashcam?

Why a dashcam running? (Place in MANUAL focus to prevent lights from causing out of focus) What flashing lights did you turn on?

Did that driver fall asleep at the wheel? How late?

Sad about this house. No drywall to limit fire spread?

  • @robertgift

    thanks Bob

there is no manual focus on that older type of camera

  • Nice catch on that house! Sadly too involved by the time FD arrived.

Too long their getting the wet stuff on the red stuff.

My camcorders, all used, had Manual.

What was the cause? Driver fell asleep? DUI?

Our dash-mounted HD camcorder is in case of any kind of mishap or tornado or emergent transport. HD deletes in seconds when nothing to keep.

    What/why light on your vehicle?

  • @robertgift

she just lost control and caught the shoulder, tried to overcorrect

    lites are always fun

  • These guys are still wearing Day Boots? Come on CFD get in the real world.

  • @jstchillnks

no they dont...the all have new gear

this was filmed 3 years ago

  • Great Clip...do you have any more info on this...Seems to be quite an intense blaze from the 2nd floor....just wondering if there was a heavy fire load there or was the place left open to the wind due to renovations maybe?....thanks for posting

  • @lees58

Was there a Heavy Fire Load? Ummmm

I will let you ask to buy a Vowel on That one

    Pat Sajack

  • ANSWER: This is the amount of combustible material per square foot of floor space.

    QUESTION: What is Fire Load.

basically I wanted to know what was stored in the place that caused the fire to be so intense. Renovations would usually mean moving things out of the house which would decrease the fire load. thanks Trebek

  • damn thier bunker coats go down to thier knees too long if you ask me.

  • @micme0083

they no longer wear this type of gear...they all have new gear

  • What a great fire ^^ ..... I hope that there were no injured person.

  • Great work Todd!!! How long did it take for CFD to knock that fire down?

  • @biggare1980

They got the Bulk of it done pretty quickly

crews were there putting out hotspots for a couple hours

  • Sounds like they did a heck of a job. CFD is the best department in the country in my opinion. Have always loved them since Backdraft came out. Keep up the great work. By the way, passed through your area Friday going to Gary from La Salle:)

  • I am curious, when was this fire, full date not necessary, year would be enough.
