  • excelennte

  • Super3

  • This is good but I will admit the version in phoenix with zender is better. It swings more. This one is kind of dry.

  • My songgggggggggggggg

  • stuar zender and toby smith please come back to jamiroquai

  • This is such a great performance of an amazing song! :)

  • dov'è ZENDER????????

  • LOVE THEEEEEEEEEM!!!!!!

  • where's Zender nowadays i wonder

  • The ggod thing is that Fyffe sounds like Fyffe and Zender sounds like Zender. If Fyffe would go for the Zender sound and style it would be bad. I like that Fyffe does something new and different.

  • his hat screams words to me, but i can only make out drugs drugs drugs haha

  • Stop to argue guys.

Just sit back and enjoy the music!

  • @llucasmaia I guess youre a kid since you have absolutely no taste in music

  • @bigdaddyshit this song sounds exactly like space cowboy.... and what makes u think that your taste is better than mine, its just diferent, i like rock, sorry bout that.... be happy with your song...

  • @llucasmaia lol first its very different take it from somebody who plays it and i never said my taste is better i said you have no taste (like new guns and roses new metallica and any bullshit music that doesnt need any thoughts to understand) whats even funnier is i guess you think that because of the lyrics THE SONG DOESNT STOP ON THE FUCKIN LYRICS THIS ISNT RAP YOU RETARD

  • @bigdaddyshit not exactly, i was not thinking about the lyrics, i didnt even pay atention to the lirics. btw ophone77 is right, if u like the music just be happy as i said, i said i like diferent music, and no, not guns and roses or metalica, i in fact prefer Queen and U2.... bye

  • @llucasmaia So if you prefer different music what the fuck are you doing here? you just bother, i cant listen to the song properly because of your empty musical's comments, you are comparing two completely different styles, start from there.

  • @llucasmaia Man you say this song is gay, then you say, be happy with your music...

  • he looks like an older version of joseph gordon levitt

  • AWESOME version!

  • DAmn, I wanna read Akingbola's shirt!

  • Paul Turner playing this song is the best may not be better than zender's playing but I really like it more than fyffe

  • i, personally, dont give two fucks what anyone thinks when i say that this is downright pathetic to what this band/song once were! you can hardly hear the bass because we no longer have the hard, warm warwick growl stu produced. keyboards dont flow as smoothly neither! the present jamiroquai DOES NOT COMPARE to the band it once was :D

there is absolutely no soul in this version

  • Quel son de malade!!!

  • One of my favourite love songs.

J'adore cette chanson merveilleuse... Elle est trop courte... Même en live

  • Great version of this song. Please tour in the USA. We need some good music over here badly. I think my ears are bleeding from listening to the current crap on the radio.

  • @examminer its like that in the u.k aswell we never hear them on the radio .its all justin bieber rihanna beyonce and lady gaga bullshit . jamiroquai have and always will be a band that us people with taste and those of us who dont just follow the in crowd have to find ourselfs , but i wouldnt have it any other way

  • Nick is playing the chorus wrong.

  • @dmcmahonbass Theres no wrong in funk...LoL as long as its funky it shall continue on.

  • original band memember is always the best. but we have to be happy that they still exist atleast. dont get me wrong I love JQ til death

  • Perfection from beginning to end.

  • True, certainly have become more professional, even if the old Jamiroquai were more creative ...

  • Wow, this is lacking in soul big time. The original line up made this tune what it is. Anyone who says otherwise has no understanding of music. Peace

  • Comment removed

  • @Hania454 RU kidding? This "soulless" version still has more soul than 99.9999% of the music out there.

  • I Love You Boy!

  • Simple music played brilliantly......

  • A lot of harsh comments about what is a top-drawer rendition of a great track. I agree (and am on record many places as saying) that the original line-up was the best, but this still sounds great. Props to the man who dares to play bass on this tricky Stu Zender composition - I reckon he did the song and the Montreux stage justice. Look at Jay Kay feeling the groove at 3:48 and tell me I'm wrong..

  • Fyffe plays it differently but he's a kick ass bass player. all that nagging and comparing him with zender and shit. the guy just plays cool too

  • fyffe is a great bass player so as mr turner...but mr moon is stu's thing..."by appointment to the king zender"...just don't dare playin' it when u're no able man..

  • @mrmoon94 shut up. lol, seriously though, i'm really sick of hearing about zender, he left jamiroquai over a decade ago, if you wanna listen to zender, listen to mark ronson's terrible music. I for one much prefer jamiroquai to mark, stu was great but people need to get over the fact that he's gone.

  • @jamiroquai01fan I agree, Zender was great but remember he chose to leave the band over some stupid argument. Fyffe performs this brilliantly.

  • @ShadowRave Yes. All the musicians who have ever played with the band are top class. Zender was great, he did some amazing performances and helped write some of the best songs ever written. However, jamiroquai and us fans can cope without him lol. :) I'd like to hear them play it now with paul turner and the new horn section and everything. Love to hear what they would do with it.

  • @jamiroquai01fan but we can't say that this version is better is better than Phoenix 97 with Stuart Zender! that's impossible to say that because mr moon is a Stuart's b-line and that's why this song is excellent! the live in Phoenix is EPIC! we know that you are angry that SZ left the band but seriously can you imagine Jamiroquai if SZ was never in the band ? No it's impossible because even jamiroquai's last album is good they lost their TRUE FUNK AND ACID JAZZ when SZ left the band!

  • @lissa948100 I disagree i'm afraid. I think stu was a very impressive bass player when he was with jamiroquai. You could say the same about him, without jamiroquai he is less good. I agree that this song was better when stu was in the band, of course it was, he helped write it. But i think that jay kay is the real genius behind jamiroquai, the sound has changed so opinions differ but i think that jamiroquai are still excellent without stu (RDLS), i don't think stu is good without jamiroquai.

  • @jamiroquai01fan Stu's songs with AZUR (D'Angelo who is a great singer) are very funky, and his live with Amy, Winehouse, Daniel Merriweather etc. are great too! but that's not the same style as Jamiroquai's music of course! And Stu made an appearance in Zingzillas and he made a very good slap! he still the best bass player that Jamiroquai had! and Ok Jay Kay is a genius, but Stu Too and for me is underrated like Toby Smith etc. 75% of people think jamiroquai=JK §

  • all these negative comments about Fyffe....he is absolutely fabulous....the difference is when you see Zender (who is also fab) on stage with JK they are always next to each other...look at Montreux 2003 & any other concert ...Fyffe is always behind him & NEVER in the spotlite......this is for you Nick...all the props to you man....

  • This song isn't good without Zender. Fyffe fucks this up. I'm sorry, but that is my opinion.

  • Bring back Mr Moon...

  • oh mr moon me la chupa a mi

  • Mr moon without zender and toby smith is bullshit. Jay kay doesn't sing anymore

  • Everybody..Zender plays this track with more feeling than Fyffe..

  • who exactly is mr. moon?

  • :58 . Your the one that makes me smile =)

  • Fyffe doesn't have that jazzy funky flavor that makes stu so special to my ears, specially in this song

  • I've watched a JMQ concert in Portugal this month.... They were great, but the bass was hidden. Like in this!

  • Fyffe and STU were the Best, Whiy did they go???

  • @nurschauen100 .............see Pixie lott concerts...he's there & damn good.

  • Sorry to burst your bubble, but fyffe's playing of this track will NEVER live up to Zender's!! Period!!! The album version sounded better than Fyffe's live version. and let's not talk about Zender live.

  • LONG LIVE JAY KAY!!!!

  • ECCEZZIONALE!!!!

  • the bassist made me jizz

  • @metallicolor This bassist made you Jizz? Look up a live performance where Stuart Zender plays. this very song (Particularly the Pheonix 1997 one)You'll die.

  • Nothing can ever come close to Rhodes pianos

  • I love the pauses 3:50 3:58 4:06

  • Stop talking about Zender all the time! This is also tight as hell. Zender is not a better bassist then Fyffe, there about the same

  • @eeevelinaaaa

Every single true jamiroquai fan would disagree with you on this one. You might think its just bias towards zender, but if you just listen to the first three albums properly you will see, zender is a natural. He brought a certain feel to the band which is inimitable. Just listen to zenders playing on the album version compared to fyffes interpretation of this song. While fyffe is more than competent and a great player there is nowhere near as much emotion in his playing.

  • Comment removed

  • @eeevelinaaaa are you kidding? listen at his timing at the intro. he is not so tight as zender.

  • Happy song, inspired confidence =]

  • MR.>MOON

  • i think jamiroquai became less....fun... without stuart zender

  • i luve this song!! its beautiful! ..jk haceme un hijo jaja

  • you make me mad! Why, you're so beautiful!

And why! you are not come to the appointment yesterday!!!!!!

I was waiting for you! See you tomorrow ok? Call me!!

  • @minsung....they make great hearing aids in this decade...I met him in person @ Sunflower Jam in london... This guy can really play the bass.. he is excellent...don't know what you heard but e/one one here does not be negative about him....by the way .....it's only your opinion....

  • wtf... he totally ruined the feeling.. wtf... not smooth at all.. ew,..

  • just show the goddam bassist!!!

  • This song is awesome live! they should do it more often.

  • I love this version

    2 years of hearing it

    the bass

    the guitar

    the backsingers

    the keyboard

    all just so perfect!

  • It's a shame that the camera rarely focuses on the bass player.

And I do miss Zender when I watch this vid.

Thanks for posting by the way.

  • Totally agree!!

    Bass is Jamiroquai!!

  • really cool song, but he has weird figure expressions and hand movements when he sings.

  • Loved Zender!! Respect Fyffe..both bring it on!

  • This was Stuart Zender's bassline right here! But hey, this guy fills in pretty decent.. i just miss my main man Zender baby.

  • you really says that what i think. good comment...

  • Well, yes... this guy plays it beautifully, sure. But Zender came up with it. I haven't connected with the band as much after he left. I still like what Jay is serving up, but I'm not as in love with it as I was. I hope the new album will blow me away when it comes.

  • Ditto MitchGbass....I agree with you. Zender was great but Fyffe gives me goose bumps & is FABULOUS... Zender left...it was his choice...someone had to replace him & think Fyffe was the man for the job....

  • I just can't get over it :(

  • you see? every1 is replaceable. Mr. Moon was Stuart Zender's master piece and this son of a bitch plays it so simple.... I can't believe it.

  • the whole song sounds fantastic, wish i could play like that, wish i could play at all! hahahahaha! ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • this was Zender's beautiful baby.

  • excellent...

  • my song!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • live the time signature in this piece really tricky jazzy funk!

  • I love live. It sounds like Jay Kay is loosing his voice. "I really turn me on!!!"

  • I cringe constantly. **** it, his voice deteriorated fast after 98...

  • same here, to be fair, he sounded particularly bad here. i think he was sick? shame this one went to dvd and not a better gig with a stronger voice.

  • @destituteillusion i particularly don't care - i think he sounds great with these 2 backing singers. especially when they all 3 are in harmony, when he closes his eyes. The vocals SOUND awesome there.

  • No!!!! R u dumb or just a ass j iz always great with all of his songs.

  • Jay's voice has gone off pretty bad since about 2000 or so. Having seen him live 4 times it seems he has a harder time singing in the original keys from back in the day.

  • soooooooooo gooood Where is the new album?PLEASE come back ,the music needs you guys. This is loooooooooove

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaa me he enamoradOOo ..... mr mOon simplementeh sobrenatural......................

  • Jamiroquai: The anti-techno. Love them.

  • Jay Kay with Gavin Dodds, Toby Smith, Stuart Zender = more fun, lose....with Harris, Matt Johnson and Paul Turner = More comfortable, seems more professional...take Jamiroquai either way, cuz they were and are great

  • That's the opinion the opinion that I have abiut them. I think that with Harris, Matt and Paul he seems more serious, more mature, professional

  • Rob Harris is a gun!

  • And he gave more power to jamiroquai.

  • totally agree :)

  • i agree but Paul Turner isn't on this one.. It's Nick Fyffe

  • ALL IS JUST PERFECT!!!!!!

Jami takes all people to a perfect world, i just love it!!

    ;D

  • Nick Fyffe fluffed up on this? You sure? I'm thoroughly enjoying his bass tone and interpretation :)

  • Nick Fyffe stuffed up the timing of that solo intro. He's inferior to Stu. If you want to hear a good version, find the "live in Phoenix" one.

  • ooohh you are right...but Stu is an awesome bass player hard to replace yah...

  • Stu was a bigger talent yes.. Playing sick at a young age, but i think Nick Fyffe nails this one! You don't have to play a copy of the cd version bass intro, to make it good.. This is some funky shit

  • All live versions of "Mr. Moon" are fucking awesome!!!!!!!!!

  • I love this song!!!!!!!! Thank you!!

  • Start with the bass, use your voice and make me dream oh great Jamiroquai!!

For me the best with Marvin Gaye!!!

    I hope soon in Italy...

  • Yeah, they should do a live tour with the real jamiroquai Toby, stuart, rob, derrick, shola and JAY!!! yes sire!!!

  • I like this bass sound

  • Matt Johnson is awesome, he's very handsome, and his piano solos are often great....why we dont' talk about him, or Rob Harris who is the guitarist that is the longest in the band (From 9 years, Katz 5 years, Dodds 3 years). Rob Harris is really a bandmember of Jamiroquai, he cowrote many songs, and now Johnson too. Don't think at the past, it was great yes, but it WILL be great.

  • I ADORE Matt Johnson and his keyboard skills! Agree that he is a hottie too :-)

  • I totally agree! all the videos I see from Jamiroquai on here people are always talking about how they miss Zender... I mean, man... it's getting a bit old, leave it out! I am a long time Jamiroquai fan but I don't spend my time in the past... I'm not saying you do, but that's just the impression you're giving to the people reading your comments...

  • You´re right, but indeed, we need think in the past. Jamiroquai isn´t a acid jazz band anymore since "Travelling without moving". Actually still a great band, but since the horn section left along with Stuart Zender, it´s another kind of music, not the acid jazz music of his first three and glorious albums.

  • although stuff like Black Devil Car still kills!

  • So true..but there still great as hell...just doing there own brand of Funk pop for lack of a better word..

  • hey the 09 albulm will have them return to their acid jazz roots....the only reason they changed sound was becuase sony made them change(apparently no listens or lives acid anymore..oh its not mainstrem)

  • cool - but how do you know that they are going back? ps acid jazz is not mainstream the the reason jamiroquai are so good is that they can make anything work. Remember in 2001 - disco was not mainstream but it was jamiroquai who bought it back to life-after that disco came back in for a while :)

  • This is sooooooooo funky!!!!!!

Love the bassline. Zender is the best

  • yeah zender is the best ever but hes not playin here :S:S:S he shouldnt have leave the band...

  • true. Is it Paul? Different style than Stuart. This version has more dead notes

  • no you dummies, thats nick fyffe on the bass, first the man (Stuart Zender), then Fyffe and now Turner

  • Yeah Right!

    Stuart Zender is a Groove-Machine!!!!

  • they need to bring back MR ZEEEENDEEEER

  • @minsung Yes please

  • He's so cute!

  • thats song its so refrescant mr moon to mr moon oh honnney¡¡¡¡¡¡¡love ya kay.

  • the most beautiful of always....this is the true j.k, that of the first two albums

  • los medios recuerdos las medias lineas de bajo las cagó!

  • play that tune for me

    MR MOON

  • Tengo unas ganas de sacar un buen porro de marihuana prensada en Paraguay e irme a la isla del miembro masculino con el Señor Luna xD

  • A la espera del septimo... :)

  • this band is so fuckin tight. but i also miss stu

  • I Miss Gavin !!! I Miss His "nerd-looks"

  • MMMM simplemente teletransportador...

Me dieron ganas de irme volando a mi casa a bailar Jamiroquai.

Esta cancion es todo un ritual.

    Viva Jay kay !

  • I miss Stu, Gavin and Toby but this lineup is pretty sick too :)

  • Its good. just different. Not as raw as Zender. Paul has more of a classy studio touch.

  • well, you know that it's nick playing here? =)

  • Stuart Zender was one of a kind but Fyffe very good in this vid. don't know why so many people rag on him

  • He's okay. Its just... he's not Zender... ^_^;

  • this is a nice version just think the bass should be louder ^^

  • FUCK THAT!!! if you really are a fan of Jamiroquai then you don't care what are the mistakes and you don't even care if there are some...you just love the song don't matter how it is played...i love Jay Kay! <3

  • Hey Cyberpsych1, sounds like you're just blindly in love with the romance of the old line up. I loved it too but move on, they all have, including Stuart and Jay. Be more constructive and it isn't even Paul Turner (who I think is doing a great job with the current line up) It's Nick Fyffe on this version and he ain't that bad. I miss the brass etc but c'mon, I hope you got over your first girlfriend quicker! Facts man......get them right before spouting off.

  • Yup, totally agree with you there. Although Zender will always be missed, he's been gone for around 10 years now! I don't actually understand why you hate this version so much - it's extremely tight, the bass is still pretty damn phat and girls in the background gives a fuller sound as well.

So yeah, stop ruining everyone's good time and just enjoy one of, quite simply, the finest live bands in the world.

  • Out of all the live versions I've heard of "Mr. Moon", this is hands down the best. Some of the other ones are a little too frantic. This one is perfect. JK's singing is calmer and I love Matt Johnson's riffing on the electric piano at the end. Brilliant.

  • I am playing this in my car for months now.

    Great version.

  • whats wrong with you guys! you think you can do it better? go nail the audition!

  • Stop crying about zender already.

The kid left years ago and aint coming back.

This was a Jazzy performance as it was on Montreux JAZZfestival.

    Great performance.

  • I kind of agree with you on the Rhodes solo. The solo seemed to be more of a background fill than a solo. Toby's solos had so much space, unusual sounding scales, and not as typical of those standard jazz licks as this guy was playing. This guy's solo was so pc... make some wrong notes... keep it a little funky. I don't know.

  • stop driking the haterade :P...lets be real..this version is cool in its own way. not everything has to be heavy..matt on keys makes this low key groove gloooww .

  • ¡¡¡Great, beautiful and cool funky acid-jazz song!!!

  • Worst Mr.Moon I've ever seen. It's not Gavin Doods on guitar and nor Simon Katz. It's not Toby Smith on the keys either. And, It's NOT the dude who made this bassline what it is playing the bass. And yeah I suffer from PZD.

  • drumz n keyz piss on every1 in this band

  • awesome performance! its actually a perfect live song .. and fits him and his voice very well.

i like it better than the album version, its more powerful.
