If a public option would have been part of the bill it would have lowered costs significantly, but we all know that was the only relatively "socialist" part of the original plan and would never get enough support.
6 and 4 are partially true (as they are combined) because there is encouragement for primary care providers to do some more of the work that expensive specialists do and get paid appropriately for it. This should stop the flocking of doctors away from primary care and lower cost.
I think before Dino Rossi makes statements like this he may want to:
1. Read the healthcare bill
2. Understand what it does and how it does it
The bill may not be perfect (none ever are and repealing it is the poorest decision of them all), but it sets the groundwork for sustainable lower healthcare costs while providing American's with better, universal coverage. Anyone who cares more about Washingtonians than politics and FINALLY getting a political office would work to understand the bill.
I did. I work for CMS. The cost infrastructure still remains. Point 3 is nothing new, they have been doing it for awhile, since managed care and PPS took ground., 6 and 4 contradict each other.
Another point, the propoosals that were already in the bill would have passed regrardless, had they not been put in the bill in the first place. The actual number of pages of the bill would have been about 400.
repeal it. It will be an open buffet

This guy wants to put our Medical Marijuana patients in prison.
Not to mention he's an Ex- big insurance CEO.
Too much conflict of interest, I think I've seen enough of that in Washington all ready

Obama says his bill will reduce healthcare costs - how does a subsidy reduce the actual cost of providing the service?
drummerfromoly 1 year ago
@drummerfromoly There are multiple layers of cost savings in the bill.
1. Not everyone receives a subsidy
2. Having everyone in the insurance pool lowers costs for everyone
3. Emphasizing preventative care lowers long term health costs - part of this is giving everyone access to medical care instead of emergency care
4. Increasing the number of doctors
5. Allowing the sale of insurance across state lines increases competition
6. Limiting the cost of certain medical procedures
Read the bill.
