Rikachan,you obviously know very little about animals. Snakes stalk their pray and strike almost immediatly. If the snake was even considering eating the hamster then that hamster would have been dead in the first 20 seconds. Also, it's not cruelty for feeding live animals to repililes. Somtimes they have to because it's the only way the reptile will eat it. Try going to a zoo somtime. And to bmwsux3, no. If the snake really wanted to eat the hamster then it could have swallowed it whole.
