  • The Dickies = Best punk band.

  • From one of my top ten favorite albums ever.

  • sammy davis jr. ...the put a couple songs of his on fallout new vegas, like somethings gotta give, and i think he also sings blue moon

  • sammy also became jewish in that car crash... true. he was holding a magen david in his hand and the crash caused him to grip it so hard that it left a scar/imprint on his palm.

this song is amazing... the fist 3 dickies records were fantastic, largely due to chuck wagon's musicianship. he's playing the sax and keys on this track. he killed himself not long after dawn of... was released. sad.

  • Gotta love the Incredible Shrinking Dickies... Good to hear this... And as I said before... SUCK IT Green Day, or at least pay royalties...

  • tremenda cancion!

  • Sammy together with the Monroe? Must have been very wild times back then !

  • this song sounds alot like sheena is a punk rocker :D

  • @ALLEXXX321: i would say that it is a lot more complex than Sheena is a punkrocker + i cannot find that soundwise there are lots of similarities. Or you would say that every punk song sounds like the other, which is certainly NOT the case !

  • @MrSKINFLICK im not saying there ripping off the ramones im just saying it reminds me off sheena is a punk

  • @MrSKINFLICK the ska sounding parts are kickass!

  • @ALLEXXX321 Just keep in mind that the use of saxophone doesn't make something ska. Chuck Wagon's sax is kickass though.

  • @dfeltch i didn't say it was ska i just said it sounded ska ...

  • what is half white, half black, Jewish and has three eyes?

Sammy Davis Jr. and his wife...

  • love this track. love sammy too :-)

  • sweet. thx for poasting

  • What would be Rock'n Roll without the Dickies,Olga and the ToyDolls...?What would i've been without them? I don't know...

...just fantastic bad mood crushers.Life has never been the same again,as it had been before...

  • In the words of Sammy Davis Jr himself...." I'm a one eyed negro jew!"

  • The Dickies, one of the most under-rated bands ever, and still going strong 30+ years later. Lens great nasal vocals, and Stan one of the best guitar players ever. Brilliant!

  • It's so true i had the same réaction, i Never notice how much thé dickies sound like thé buzzcocks on That song!

  • @Monsieurjupiter: TRUE !! BUT MUCH FASTER CARS !

  • Sammy Davis, Jr. had the most perfect set of teeth! I don't know if he had to wear dentures or had orthodontic work on them. But they are perfect!

  • Sammy was a member of the Church of Satan.

  • Sounds like Buzzcocks!...

  • Never mind the eye - what's up with those teeth (3:11)??? Looks like they were chipped out of an elephant tusk!!!

  • "Dawn of the Dickies" was the second punk album I ever owned... after "jealous again" by Black Flag. Thanks. This was great.

  • absolutly fantastic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! seen em live twice now , fukn excellent

  • i always have this song stuck n my head!!! fuckin' awesome song 5/5

  • the stunning opener to dawn! i've always wondered what SDJr's take on this tune might possibly have been. surely he was informed of it's existence??? did he dig it? how could he not?

  • are fucking kiddin me?

    this song is fucking unbelieveable

do people (in general) realize what a masterpiece this song is????

    seriously. its fucking breathtaking

  • Great vocals, somehow profound? Sure.

  • chuck could realy blow

  • BUT WHERE IS "FREE WILLY" ??!!

  • But does he see in 3-D?

  • Loved the '50s moshpit at the beginning... : )

  • I love this song!! Go Dickies!!

  • this song was mentioned in a book I read: Tank Girl Armadillo (not a comic)

  • dickies i love you!!!!!!!!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX make life fun!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i bought this lp on blue vinyl in 1980,this sammy davis tribute track is as awesome now as back then, thanks for post

  • A befitting tribute to one of the great one-eyed performers. Nice job. Yeah, bay-bee.

  • Reminds me of "You Should Never Have Opened That Door" by The Ramones.

  • HAHAH you are right, this song sounds like "You Should Never Have Opened That Door" HAHAHA

  • I always thought this song was about one of the zombies in Dawn of the Dead.

  • i may appear drunk and thick here but i never knew this was about sammy davis

  • haha yeah he lost his left eye in a car crash

  • not sammy davis,,,,,,,,,david bowie you dummy

  • what a class song

  • you got that right
