I am curious if you ever tried a teepee as a shelter, just use some paracord to hold 3 or 4 8 foot pieces of wood together and wrapped in a tarp. I can't find any youtube videos showing the use of one, though it seems it would be a quick way to make shelter
@johnmonk66 Hehe...I haven't done that, although I have been thinking about it...many times :o) Just it's hard to carry a tarp that big when snowshoeing in the bush. Now if I were driving a snowmobile, that would change everything. I would be pulling a skimmer and hauling a canvas tent and a wood stove...hehe!
@johnmonk66 Yeah :o)...plus a 12x8 wouldn't actually be big enough for that ! Especially where two people are considered. It would have to be much bigger.
Thanks man :o) Haven't stayed overnite yet this winter. But it will come...probably via natural winter shelter! Won't be using the HH until we get some 4 season underquilts. The shelter alone on the HH won't cut it up here...hehe!
Thankyou buddy :o) I plan on making a pulk for later this winter, so I can drag out the Heini keg wood stove that I plan on making/using for my shelter...if I ever get it built...hehe! The sling works good though :o)
We just love those moments when you see wildlife on an adventure. But when you get the camera out .... gone! Love this meal review. This meal was also a request, so with your permission we would like to add it to the BackCountry Meal Review Play list. 5 *'s
Hey brother ... good to see you in the woods - i`m still in bed !!! :o(
Great review - like always ... yummy ! He He And some important info to bushbumming : checked it out - one complete meal (only!) 290 calories ... not pretty much, i guess ! :o)
Thanks buddy. I appreciate it :o) The knife is the Ontario SP5! Sorry I can't tell you the calories on that one as I don't have the package anymore :o)
My buddy Jan at Bushcraft and Canoe says complete meal is 290 calories. It's 2 servings. But I'm not one to count calories anyway...hehe! It is less than some other MH meals :o)
Thanks for the responce Ggreen. Outstanding videos Excellent knowledge being passed on.

What type of fixed blade were you using to baton your wood?
Thanks Great Vid
NKGMAN 11 months ago
@NKGMAN Thanks! It was a Ontario SP5 16" carbon blade. Good knife. I don't believe they make it anymore though. But it may still be found.

@Ggreenvideos Didn't think much about weight, figured a 12 by 8 foot blue plastic tarp wasn't very heavy, but every ounce counts.
