@wendy1851 AS FAR AS I KNOW HER NAME IS ON A TAPE RESEARCH IT SHE WAS ALONG WITH OTHERS INCLUDING BWJ PART OF A GROUP CALLED THE SANCTIFIED SINGERS WHO TRAVELED AND PLAYED IN TENT REVIVALS VERY SIMIALER TO BILLY GRAHAM IF NOT MUCH THE SAME PLEASE KEEP IN MIND I MIGHT BE OFF ON SPECIFICS TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT ALL THE GOSPEL BWJ PLAYED SHILOAM
@roehee1234 I'm looking up that version as we speak. You should check out the Colin Stetson version of it over there on the right ---> (if it's there). It features kick-ass singer Shara Worden on vocals and the song is just generally eerily wonderful. Martin Simpson also does a great version, too. Sorry, I just love good covers. PEACE!
this immediately brought me to the memory of my grandparents. i thank you so much for allowing me to just go there with this post. this is a blessing...thank you so very much. my father was a part of the jubilee quartet gospel generation of the 50's and 60's, playing the guitar and he would love this. i can't wait to play this for him. wow.
Thanks for posting this! I first heard him on a gospel compilation lp. This guy had a very unique & rough voice. You just don't hear singers like this anymore, unfortunately. There was a friend of my family that we called Brother Brown who was blind but sung gospel. He reminds me of Blind Willie Johnson because they both were blind but both had rough voices. Unfortunately, he's gone also.
I keep seeing a buzz idea recently "non-believers do the best religious music". This guy proves that theory wrong!

The only videos on Youtube that I have ever seen with so many views and without any dislikes are Blind Willie Johnson's songs.

Powerful stuff. I just scored an original 78 rpm copy of this song, backed w/ "Keep Your Lamp Trimmed and Burning." Incredible!!!!!!!!!
