Prayer does not work by human mind or visualizing power. It works by acknowledging God and asking him to implement HIS power on our behalf. There is a spiritual war going on, and the mess in Washington is work of dark forces, but know this: Angels do the bidding of GOD, not us. Also: Satan is refered to in the bible as an Angel of light, among many other things. Be careful with this new age BS. Pray biblicly, with careful reverence to God, and submission and service to HIS will.

I dare say you assume much in saying that God allowed that to happen. Free will allows us to experience both the positive and negative consequences of our choices in life, and further, there is also such a thing as a dark side, if you like, of humanity, that does commit crimes.

You can not assume that God was behind it, unless you have asked Him yourself, which, judging by your comments, you have not. In this world we are the masters of our choices. That is why God can not intervene unless we invite him back into our level. It is not His plan for suffering or tragedy to occur. He would have us Home and free from pain. It is we who are the prodigal children....at least, that's how I see it.
