Remember the Olympian gods are the children and grandchildren of the Titans, who were a race of gigantic gods themselves. I’ve never read the books, but I’m assuming the movie’s writers, director, producers, whomever wanted to make the Olympians similar to the old myths. It does look better than the Hercules & Xena TV shows where the gods where the same size as the mortals.
