People talk about being positive in sales but I think that carries of best in face to face sales. With internal sales if you see the call is not going right you can't tolerate a weak fob off - be a jerk and keep persisting! You have to be dirct to get to the root of the issue so you can effectively sell your stuff!
The worst that happens is that you're too nice and your pipeline is choked up, making lots of call backs going nowhere... wasting everyone's time.

My professional educated opinion is that sales people are the scum of the earth, a bunch of egotistical losers with a career that is founded on lying to people with no sense of remorse or guilt. YOu are money minded prick that deserve to nothing other than the shit that your customers give you every day.

Sales is an artform. Your customer is the blank canvas and your products are the medium. Sales requires incredible knowledge regarding communication. Its not as easy as being a good listener or a good talker. Its so much more than that. You have to identify your sales targets personality and flex your style to match theirs. It takes a very intelligent and authentic person to be in sales and I admire all sales people for doing a tough, heartbreaking job.
I disagree...I've been in Inside Saled for 12 years now, and I get more sales by batting my eyelashes and turning on the charm. Of corse, most of my customers are men...But hey, it works for me.
