I my opinion, wheels are just not the way for off-road skating. And suspension is not a solution either. Hugely tall. And wheel will still remain to hang behind obstacles. Small wheels will still dig into most any not-paved surface.

Something better will need to be put in put before we see any number of skaters in any forest, at least skating in the fashion XC skiers do.
