Beer reviewing is first and foremost a hobby for the reviewer and and educational outreach to the less informed.

Thanks for the reviews. I defiantly got to try some of these. I recommend if you ever get a chance you should try, “Penn Pilsner St. Nicholas Bock.” I do believe it’s seasonal but it’s so worth the wait. In fact Penn Brewery produces some very fine brews. Pennsylvania at large is my favorite state for beer connoisseur.

Maybe a change in glassware would change the review on some of the beers. Also, Choklat was a sticky mess of a beer. BA puts it in the top 100, and I still wouldn't put it in the top 1000.

@HrapovikPlush Compared to their Chocolate stout or their double chocolate stout? Cause if you're comparing an imperial chocolate stout (Southern Tier Choklat) to a regular chocolate stout (Rogue chocolate stout) then there is no comparison. You would need to compare it to Rogues double chocolate stout. In that case the Rogue is a bit better in my expert opinion. The Rogue is so smooth, creamier and more milk chocolatey.

@Nubicon yeah, it's such a unique IPA - it's like liquid flowers. We do get Troegs here, I've had some of their beers at Mahar's. I want to try to get to a few more of their stuff in 2011.
Wow, 185 beers! That's impressive. I think I've done 230 total in the 2 years I've been reviewing. In addition to all those bad beers, you had some great ones as well. I haven't had most of them so I will try to get them in 2011 (especially the Chocolat).
@AgileHProductions That's the only Troegs beer I've ever had, so I can't vouch for the rest of their line. But Nugget Nectar is awesome. But your panel doesn't like hoppy beers so they would score it rather low.
@Chad9976 Chad I HIGHLY suggest you get a hold of a bottle of Rogues double chocolate stout and do a review on it! You are overlooking an incredible beer without a doubt by not having that one under your belt! I'd really enjoy seeing someone put it up against the S.T. Choklat! I feel like your expert opinion should judge a winner between the two. Let me know if you'll do this or not because it's really a great idea IMO.
@fatsachs I'll get to it eventually. But now warmer weather is rolling around and I'm not really in the mood for imperial stouts. Maybe in the fall. Thanks for suggestion.
@NYRfan4ever Did you see my reaction to the Choklat? As much I liked Pliny, I still liked Choklat better. I was hoping to get another bottle of Pliny to re-review before I put this list together, but I wasn't able to get any and since I had just re-reviewed the Choklat and knew for sure how much I loved it - it just wouldn't seem honest to rate Pliny above it.

Some great beers for sure. I know everyone will would have their own order to them so I tend to not focus on where they slot in your top 10. Needs more west coast beers though. ;-P
