Where's My Droid Tutorial 2 GPS Feature

My phone got stolen, and I think the guy who did it has thrown away my SIM-card (my number).

If I download the app from my computer to my phone, and text that message, will it show me the location of my phone? Please respond!

Doesn't gps n wireless networks cause more battery? I think its written there...

Must also add when i received the text message for google map location a picture of my house came up. Cant get more accurate than that. This is a free app too????? brilliant.

On my android it starts the gps up automatically even if gps is off. Works well and quite accurate. Very clever app.

You're wrong, Nate. Unless you're using some ancient version of Android, leaving the GPS on does not drain your battery. It uses no power on standby. That's why you won't see the GPS icon in the status bar unless it's being used. If an app is started that needs GPS, it turns it on and you'll see the icon appear. GPS will turn back off when you exit the app that's using it by using the back button.

Top 1 must have aps. I'm a Mac and everything is updated to the latest and greatest. I could not get gmail to respond to the WMD using Firefox on my laptop. Downloaded Google Chrome Browser to my laptop and added the "Texty" extension to both my laptop and my phone. Viola -it works sweet. To the haters 1.8 days from now when Firefox fixes this - Don't hate.

Gps function is awesome - sends exact street address where your phone is located. Outstanding app. Going on the top 10 must have apps list.

@Natemendez09 you are absolutaly right,.. coz to keep the gps on is awful for battery life,,, like me a lot of people keep the gps OFF... if this app will have feature for turning ON the gps it will be EXACTLY BEST APPLICATION FOR ANDROID PHONE !!!
