  • I am an avid ripper reader and fan benawl and I believe that Tumblety fits better than other suspects of the case. I quite agree with this documentary.

  • Although Kelly is another good suspect, based on circumstantial evidence, although he killed his wife there was no evidence to suggest he had a hatred of women or any motivation to kill again. The modus operandi of the killer in cutting open the body seems distinct from kelly's first offence; this surgeon character falls more in line for me. Also the early interest in graphic images and the overall sense of hatred for women seems fitting. I am only a layman with an inkling though!

  • I think his profile fits quite well with the crimes committed . Of all I've read and watched (let's face it - circumstantial evidence" is all that is available due to lack of witness statements and absence of physical forensic evidence so is hardly grounds for dismissal of a suspect) - his profile answers something others don't. That is, detail in terms of his character and up-bringing. It is the inclusion of this that makes this documentary the most compelling for me personally.

  • @ColdHeartedMan1980 :

based on what grounds? The evidence leans heavily to the Batty Street Lodger

  • @wubbe, I agree.

  • @ColdHeartedMan1980 Why? There is no evidence whatsoever that Jack The Ripper had sex with his victims, or that the murders were sexually motivated.

  • he did look like a nut

  • Quite a nice documentary, but it's very circumstantial. Don't think many people hold Tumblety very likely.
