As a kid I remember watching re runs of the Love Boat, Mork & Mindy, Facts of Life, Alf, Webster, Three's Company, Bensen, The A Team, Night Rider, The Fall Guy, The Jeffersons, Happy, Days, Laverne & Shirley, Fantasy Island, Dallas, Dynasty, The Fall Guy, Eight Is Enough, The Brady Bunch, The Munsters, I dream of Jeannie, Bewitch, The Little Rascels, and the rest of these classic shows!!! Sad that theres nothing on TV now worth watching!!!

The reason why TV was so much better back in the 70s and 80s is that it was far more upbeat. Had a hard day at work or school? Just turn on the set and relax and let the stress melt away. Now TV's all bitter and cynical. Not that I have anything against shows like House (I actually love House); it's just that there's too much of that right now.

@biobaird Sadly there is far to much junk on american TV. Some of the few good shows end up getting cancelled far to soon. Firefly was (and still is) a fantastic show, but it only got one season. British TV on the other hand has come out with some pretty good shows. Out of the ones I have seen, Dr.Who is at the top of the list. Monty Python is great. Red Dwarf was pretty good too.

@xxbox6191 On my country there was a channel that used to show retro comedy shows and Love Boat was one of them. We have one now called RTP 1 Memory that shows A-Team and even MacGyver. Love Boat hasn't passed yet.

I used to watch this show on a Dutch channel that broadcasted reruns of cheesy, but fun 70's shows as Love Boat, Fantasy Island and Charlie's angels 24/7. More fun to watch when you can't sleep at night than all that sex adds and Tell Sell crap.

There was a slightly different version of the opening title theme heard on some season 1 and season 2 episodes of the series.

I remember watching the Love Boat (and Fantasy Island) on a regular basis every Sat. night back in the early-mid 1980s when it still was originally on the air. There was and is something so SOOTHING about the opening theme as well as each and every episode. Entertaining too. Saturday nights are just not the same these days without The Love Boat (and Fantasy Island) airing on its usual channel (ABC) in its usual time slot (Love Boat: 9pm est, Fantasy Island: 10pm est). Its a crying shame, really.

Yes, the captains daughter character was an annoying character, but that usually happens when a series mid-through introduces kids to an audience that didn't originally tune in to see kids.
