As a kid I remember watching re runs of the Love Boat, Mork & Mindy, Facts of Life, Alf, Webster, Three's Company, Bensen, The A Team, Night Rider, The Fall Guy, The Jeffersons, Happy, Days, Laverne & Shirley, Fantasy Island, Dallas, Dynasty, The Fall Guy, Eight Is Enough, The Brady Bunch, The Munsters, I dream of Jeannie, Bewitch, The Little Rascels, and the rest of these classic shows!!! Sad that theres nothing on TV now worth watching!!!

The reason why TV was so much better back in the 70s and 80s is that it was far more upbeat. Had a hard day at work or school? Just turn on the set and relax and let the stress melt away. Now TV's all bitter and cynical. Not that I have anything against shows like House (I actually love House); it's just that there's too much of that right now.
@biobaird Sadly there is far to much junk on american TV. Some of the few good shows end up getting cancelled far to soon. Firefly was (and still is) a fantastic show, but it only got one season. British TV on the other hand has come out with some pretty good shows. Out of the ones I have seen, Dr.Who is at the top of the list. Monty Python is great. Red Dwarf was pretty good too.
John Ritter Jaclyn Smith and LaWanda Page in the same episode Jack Tripper needed time away from that apartment and there was a catfight between the Charlies Angel and Aunt Esther!
@xxbox6191 On my country there was a channel that used to show retro comedy shows and Love Boat was one of them. We have one now called RTP 1 Memory that shows A-Team and even MacGyver. Love Boat hasn't passed yet.
I used to watch this show on a Dutch channel that broadcasted reruns of cheesy, but fun 70's shows as Love Boat, Fantasy Island and Charlie's angels 24/7. More fun to watch when you can't sleep at night than all that sex adds and Tell Sell crap.
I remember watching the Love Boat (and Fantasy Island) on a regular basis every Sat. night back in the early-mid 1980s when it still was originally on the air. There was and is something so SOOTHING about the opening theme as well as each and every episode. Entertaining too. Saturday nights are just not the same these days without The Love Boat (and Fantasy Island) airing on its usual channel (ABC) in its usual time slot (Love Boat: 9pm est, Fantasy Island: 10pm est). Its a crying shame, really.
This Jack Jones theme is one of the best themes ever--a timeless piece of great old american entertainment music--very very sophisticated Sinatra like composition sung by Jack Jones--GOOD WORK!
i watched an episode of the love boat for the first and only time last year, it was like i'd been lobotomised, it was some story involving the doctor being accused of sexual harrassment due to some jealous wife vengeing on her husband, and the dr just shrugs it off, and the captain proving himself totally corrupt, it was sickening shit.
No need for that. It was an extraordinary episode, the summation I wrote below was absolutely how I saw it. It is a 'friendly' show of elevator-music quality, fine, but that episode was ... frankly glib to the point of being warped. I stand by it, and I'm 34 btw.
for some reason i must have interpreted your comment the wrong way. i really can't remember why though. Anyway, sorry 'bout that. I loved the series myself (I'm 36!!), aspecially the song. Reminds me of 'Copacabana' ...
LMFAO..omg...What a disgrace for RACE...If you noticed...All cabin crews are whit EXCEPT for the WAITER (Serving food for others) there r no Black sailors no shit...How fucked up is that ???
read this! read this! read this! You will get kissed by the love of your life in 3 days if you copy and paste this on 4 more videos in 20 minutes!!! This is TRUE
Would anyone here be kind enough to send me a copy of just one Love Boat episode? I sure would love to watch this show again. VHS or DVD would be just fine. Email me at fantasmic1971 at yahoo dot com if we can tape-trade here. I'm sure I must have something you would want on VHS / DVD in return. Thanks!
Yes, the captains daughter character was an annoying character, but that usually happens when a series mid-through introduces kids to an audience that didn't originally tune in to see kids. Bad idea then, still bad today. Otherwise, this was great to see again. When in the heck is this series going to be on DVD?!

You have George Jefferson, Aunt Esther from "Sanford and Son", Jack Tripper, and the most popular of Charlie's Angels (not named Farrah Fawcett).

There was a slightly different version of the opening title theme heard on some season 1 and season 2 episodes of the series.
That remix had more emphasis on the strings, I believe. Does anyone have that version of the Love Boat theme???

Bartending is a respectable profession. Not only do you serve drinks but you also have to play the role of a psychologist many times.
