I do know that Auburn came very close a few years ago to losing their Southern Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation, which would get them automatically expelled from the SEC, due to the actions of trustee Bobby Lowder. Lowder is supposedly at the center of the huge pay-for-play scandal.
