but digital cameras can record the light, the television controller also uses infra red, you can see it with the camera, but not with naked eye

True, however with you would not want to go on a stealth mission with these goggles. When i take them off and look at the infra red light with my "naked eye" i can indeed see a faint red light.

@ Knuckles: The lights on the front of the goggles are infrared lights. Your eye will not be able to pick up the frequency that the light is emitted, but a camera can pick it up. It is much like you're television remote control, hold the remote towards your face and push the power button, then put your cell phones camera pointing it. and press the power button again, the light will come on and be visible through your phone.

Thank you Xandor for clarifying :) I am NOT being sarcastic. But yes the goggles actually DO emit a faint red light on the front. It is odd. But they are neat goggles.
