@CatBornAgain Nah, that isn't true, my father was good friends with Mel Gibson's dad, and he was always trying to convert dad to the pre-vatican II catholicism. He wrote the book "Is the Pope Catholic" showing that JP2 was going against established catholic dogma. He and Mel were very strong advocates to going back to latin mass. Mel is just messed up, and under control of smarter men, nothing more, nothing less. The best we can do is pray for him and his family.

@aalexmary I'm not sure what you mean. Documentaries and lectures are very good methods of spreading the Gospel. I think it is clear given my youtube channel that I'm not against lectures or doccos. Movies, as far as I have seen, even when they are trying to go against violence, seem to glorify it. Don't get me wrong, there was a time when I enjoyed this movie. I have just learn a lot more since then, and I realised the error in my ways. You are more than welcome to choose your path though.

At least on that level, the Passion of the Christ was accurate. The Jewish nation did kill Christ. When people are drunk, their frontal lobe is deactivated, and they respond purely based on their programming, without morals stopping their words. There are indeed impressive aspects of this film but to ignore its strange aspect and its more grievous aberrations from the Gospel saying "Leave it to God" is to ignore the constant warnings and exhortations of scripture to test all things according to the scriptures and to maintain sound doctrine.

Sure, I personally gained value out of it, however like all movies, this one has some serious rat poison that we need to be aware of. Even if you still think the movie has it's benefits, this series will tell you which is biblical and which isn't.

As far as telling Mel Gibson the problem with his movie, he knows what he put in the movie. He mentions in his interviews what book he used for the script, and it wasn't the bible!

I don't understand why people are so opposed to this film. It spreads the good news of Christ and what he did for our sins, many people have been saved from watching this film. I mean even if one soul was saved from eternal hell as a result of this film wouldn't it have been worth it? I personally got a lot out of it in the place I was when I watched it, however I believe I also was conditioned into believing things that aren't actually biblical.
