  • Why not simply upload to YouTube or screencast and use the embed code? That would also cut down your storage costs.

  • @PANOTONE Sure. That's an option and I do that a lot! But sometimes I want more control (i.e. use a different player), or simply don't want YouTube to be able to shut down an account with no reason or explanation which they have been known to do. Thanks for the comment.

  • Thanks, Lon. I minimized the preloader time and the embed works fine. Just wish it could embed like with JW Player. Express Show settings are too limiting but embeds the way I'd like. Great video training by the way.

  • @dcleary24 - Thanks and glad you like the videos! FYI, you CAN use the JW Player instead of Camtasia's players. Just configure JW as normal and use the video file Camtasia produces as your source video (ditching all the other files Camtasia spits out)...

  • I almost always use JW Player, but this time I needed the Table of Contents for my video.

If you expIore my site you'll see I mostly use JW Player, but I don't know how to build a TOC with JW Player so went with Camtasia.

  • @dcleary24 Ahhh yes. For those situations I use a nifty, really easy to use player called Media Menu Producer: screencastprofits(.)com/tools/mmproducer - in fact, it's the player I use for all the Camtasia video tutorial content in the ScreencastProfits Gold & Silver courses...

  • Hey this was great! I got it to work the first time. One question for you...is there a way to avoid the "proloader" that comes with Camtasia? I just want the video to appear on the page without the preloader loading...thoughts?

  • @dcleary24 If you're using Flash, it's gonna preload. You could cut down the % of preload (in the Flash Controls) but your video might stutter a lot. I guess you might use a different format like MOV or WMV but even at that...you can't display video that you don't have (on your computer that is) so some amount of data transfer has to happen...

  • You just saved my life. Love you. :-)

  • Thanks Lawton! I think lots of folks will like a Mac version...especially at $99. Now, if Techsmith would just make Camtasia PC 100 bones I'd be REALLY excited!

  • Lon, iframes are a pain so thanks for this tutorial buddy. What do you think of Camtasia for Mac coming out?
