We have managed to create a climate of peace and collaboration between almost 30 nations in which we collaborate for such things as check-point free travelling and freedom of expression. Both Kosovo and Bosnia are situations that are almost 10 years old. But you're right, we don't have an army. If we don't have an army though, it's because of our old treaty allowed US allies in the EU to block any efforts to constitute it. That will change now that we've got everything reorganised. What mediation? In order to be negociations, there needs to be two conflicting parties (that we have) willing to sit around the same table AND to find a long-term solution to their problems. In this case, it barely seems to be that Israel is willing to give up on its expansion plans and its dream of a land empty of ANY Palestinians. Hardly an environment to negotiate, don't you think?
