  • actually they say numerous times sulu is born and raised in san francisco and cho and takai talked about this problem and takai said sulu is supposed to represent all asians

  • They never at any point say where Sulu is from. You're just assuming he's from China because George Tkay is Japanese... The Sulu character was intended to represent the entire Asian continent because if there are no Asians in the future... the entire Asian demographic will get vewy vewy angwy.

  • this annoys the crap out of me

  • I thought this movie took place in an alternate dimention

  • 1.) Kirk faces of against people twice his age with twice the experience. You want him to kick everyones ass?

2.) Who saved the day in the Wrath of Khan? Spock? Both saved the day in this anyway.

3.) You don't have a problem with it, so? Kinda thing happens all the time.

4.) Ice planet + monster ≠ stealing from starwars.

This guy is what I like to call a failgeek. He can't even get his geeking out right, and its not due to having a 'social life', clearly.

Annoying video by an annoying turd.

  • @Odilwerk the funny thing is you think this is real....

  • @bobjenz Think what is real? WTF are you talking about now?

I can understand your putting on an act, but its an annoying one and most definitely not in the funny sense, leading to the view of you yourself being an idiot. Most of your jokes are stolen and done better by those stolen from, whilst none of your points have any merit whatsoever.

In other words, it's a crappy video in every sense of the word.

  • Does anyone else think this video would be better if 1) he didn't do that dumb laugh and 2) the video wasn't edited in the typical youtube style of lonelygirl15

  • pike was not the first captain of the enterprise. Plus the constitution class in TOS looks entirely different than the one in the new movie. The new movie also follows 0 principles of the original Star Treks. In my opinion, when Gene Roddenberry died, Star Trek got gradually worse. This hit rock bottom.

  • the whole movie is the problem you can add Abrams too

  • bobjenz pays an awesome nerd "hahaha gleeven

  • first of all i think we can all agree that star trek only ever made it to the silver screen to capitalise on the merch, with the possible exception of wrath of khan. next i think while you make some interesting points, you missed the main objection to the film (see above). as for kirk, yes he got his ass kicked, but it is obviously setting up his devil may care attitude for future toy sales - i mean movies (again, refer above).

  • Dude, don't wear the red shirt! Everyone knows Redshirts are the first to die...

  • @ShanaenaeGrassyplace and its always the unnamed ensign...

  • 2:11 ... sure - if you don't mind having a comm officer with the neck of a giraffe...

    Problems?

Oh dude, where to begin... sez i only have 374 characters and this isnt enuff to outline why this movie sucked bantha udder

  • never heard of an asian named sulu in real life, just fuckin roll with it 4 eyes!

  • There has been an ice planet in a star trek movie before (undiscovered country) my main complaint was even taking into account the new timeline there was still continuity errors! the USS Kelvin was built prior to the temporal incursion and should have looked like a constitution class vessel from the TOS era or even a bit older!

  • I wanna punch you in the face. I hope you don't mind too much, but that's what I keep thinking. I try to listen what you say, but your face is driving me insane. I hear that snazzy voice and all my bully genes awaken and I just want to hit the weak and inferior of which you are the epitome.

  • @Brehserman bring it on bitch

  • @Brehserman He isn't acting like a nerd, he's imitating actor Jerry Lewis (a dork). The only true defining trait of a nerd is that they are smart, intelligent, or well read.

And bring it on. so called nerds can learn martial arts or use weapons, you know. "Bully genes" my ass. You're just an underachiever who beats people up to compensate for your feelings of failure and inadequacy.

  • @roylopear This was just a joke, AFAIK the technology to punch people through the internet is still in Beta. ;) I also was just (badly) quoting a movie scene. Search youtube for "Something about your face" in case you're interested.

  • @Brehserman Oh, well ok. :) And I am guessing he is acting intentionally annoying and cliche. And BTW, Anyone who wanted a more "hardcore" SF series was always free to watch "Stargate: SG-1", which contradicted a lot of the philosophy of "Star Trek: TNG". (sort of like "7 Days" vs. "Sliders")

  • @Brehserman Step Brothers film (2008)

  • Though I am not a fan of Star Trek its worth noting that this was a series based on detail, future science, negotiation, discussion. Not things blowing up. It was rebooted because people know of it and therefore it gets an audience straight away. No other reason. The film District 9 is arguably better, but probably got 10% of the gross. You do the rest of the thinkin', I've thought for you long enough.

  • Pretty much on target, especially writing Star Trek as a Star Wars movie. Except for your last objection: piece of tail? What are you 13 years old?

  • I think the whole "Let's give all these cadets a fleet a star ships, including our flagship!" was pretty stupid. You can't seriously tell me that they lacked more experienced crews to give the new fancy ships to, rather than leaving them all in space dock. Or why you'd leave them with the flagship afterwards (or why it even was in the first place), regardless of how well they did. Unless they were pretty well all that was left of the fleet, in which case the Federation would be screwed.

  • This Star Trek was fun to watch, but wasn't memorable nor worth getting the DVD over. All that needs to be said.

  • A problem I have with the movie is Captain Pike. Pike is supposed to be about Kirk's age instead they made him older. Another problem I have is the slaughter of the StarFleet cadets in orbit of Vulcan; that made me sick.

  • Uh, Riker was referred to as 'Number One"...

  • stupid

  • Good review, I loved the film, but dude, those cartoon style laughs you do, so irritating.

  • i sure can tell what's wrong with you nerdo!

btw john cho ain't gay ether, is that a problem?

  • i agree with ya bob

  • Kirk got his ass kicked all through the movie... did you get your ass kicked all through high school?

  • ITT: die hard star trek fans who dont realize that the franchise had become so diluted and complex that only die hard fans knew what was going on, abrams did a good thing, he rebooted the series so the avrage person didnt have to learn 40yrs of star trek history to enjoy the film, becuz *gasp* believe it or not, not everyone has seen startrek

  • dude, you realize you're shirt is red, and you have a command insignia on it?

  • Nothing was wrong with the movie but there was plenty wrong with this video - please work on your nerd character, maybe watch revenge of the nerds or something as a point of reference. Now don't get me wrong, I think your a dork but you don't quite reach the level of respectable nerd

  • I didnt mind this new Star Trek too much...If I had to point out a few things....Spock & Uhura ? As Spock would say "Fascinating"....but it doesnt really make sense. What about the whole 'Pon Far' thing? I know that vulcans & humans have got together before....but handn't spock not even gone through ONE pon far at this point according to the TOS? Other than that...I could've used a story that had a bit less action, and more intrigue and plot...but all in all, not too bad as an intro 2 a new ST

  • What if somebody went and did an origin story with Star Wars where the characters were there (played by different people), and you added bad CG, a terrible story, and plot points that specifically defy the source material? Well we have that, it's the prequel trilogy and everyone agrees it's shit. It sucks for all the same reasons that Star Trek '09 and Indy 4 sucked. Be consistant people!

  • Just shut up...you're not even insulting "nerds" you're just making a jack ass of yourself.

...Thank god you're wearing a red shirt.:)

  • JJ Abrams Star Trek is just like Van Halen with Gary Cherone as the lead singer. A drastic mistake. Hopefully this will end the same with Abrams being banished from the Star Trek world and his movie being forgotten, just as Cherone was thrown out of Van Halen after one album.

  • @ZX2ManDave You do realise that Star Trek 2009 is the highest grossing star trek film and was in fact made over a year ago... and Abrams is infact producing 2 more with all major cast signed on

your right man, this was clearly a drastic mistake

  • @RidingMad125

I dont care how much money the movie made. I dont care how many movies "The Great" JJ Abrams makes. Every thing i have seen that had his name connected to it has been absolutely horrible. I knew the second i heard he was making a Star Trek movie that he would destroy it.

  • @ZX2ManDave but he clearly hasn't destroyed it......

  • JJ Abrams should be kicked in the balls before he has a chance to destroy another film.

  • @bobjenz DUDE, YOU ARE THE NEW JIM CARRY!!!!!!!

  • You are terrible, bad nerd impression just bad. You don't have the lingo, and your laugh is t e r r I b l e

  • @PtAltmVansanTarr and you drink Hater-ade

  • @bobjenz No. You are just unfunny.

  • @PtAltmVansanTarr It's funny that your telling somebody how to be a nerd! That makes you a real life nerd!!!

  • You did the vulcan hand sign wrong.

  • Pretty simple stuff, the Movie Rock's ! Answer this have you seen a better star trek Movie?

  • Nothing is wrong with the movie, you are annoying.

  • i'd like to say just one thing, and that you people who hated this movie just aren't adaptable enough, litteraly, i liked any star trek movie/series and i've watched all of them, i mean, just cause this movie gave something new to star trek (a fast pace) and because it is entertaining to the audience that isn't made of hardcore trekkies does NOT mean that it isn't worthy of being called star trek :P

  • I think Spock is the main character.

  • This guy is annoying.

  • I liked that Spock did most of the work, but both he and Kirk were very emotional and girly :/ Other than that, I strongly disliked Uhura if only for the fact that her hair was boring and she didn't have as much 'badass babe charisma' as Nichelle did..

  • Sulu was born in San Francisco. Doesn't that make him an American, not Japanese? Japanese is a nationality, not a race.

My main problem with John Cho was that he lacked even a fraction of George Takai's charisma.

  • Kirk had a few moments of awesome that had less to do with brawn and more to do with cleverness.

Remember the "I got your gun" moment? I think they were trying to make him less of a brawn-based character and have him and Spock be more complete foils of each other.

  • dear bobjenz ,shut your trap and enjoy it for what it is, you prick

  • i think they did make spock d most of the work, i think if i chose the best star trek movie, it would be Wrath of Khan!!!

  • um.. the problems were fake and the movie was okay... but kirk got beat up too much and bobjenz is a total spaz. those are my problems.

  • JJ Abrams should be raped by gorillas for destroying Star Trek with his garbage.

  • Never understood the Star Wars ripoff claim.........Star Trek came before Star Wars! It wouldn't be so far fetched to assume that without Star Trek, Star Wars likely never would have existed..

  • Is the new Uhura the hottest babe in anything with the word "Star" in the title ever?

    I say yesssss.

  • star trek is awesome and the movie had no flaws who cares if kirk wasnt a badass

  • In the novel Kobayashi Maru, Sulu was actually stated to be Japanese-AMERICAN by several generations, but I dunno if you count those as canon.

Chekov was WAY too old by at least three, four years. The ice-planet creature was in no way evolved to handle sub-zero temperatures, and THEY GOT MCCOY'S NAME ORIGIN WRONG. SpockUhura is never going to last, and the relationship felt awfully forced. AND NEITHER EARTH NOR VULCAN HAD ANY DEFENSE. AT ALL. WTF. Starfleet Academy, guys, seriously!

  • Patrick Stewart is about as English as they come and he played a Frenchman. What's the problem with John Cho playing a Japanese character?

  • @willtor Thats actually a pretty decent point!

  • I love that people bash the know there are outnumber. The new startrek 2 will kick ass. Forget the old ones it like a doll that you don`t whant to lose GET OVER IT. This it 2010 not 1010.

  • The whole movie sucked donkey balls jj is a fucking clown shoe!

  • @NCC63549 do you even like star trek

  • Good video but i hate the laughing thing you do

  • star trek sucks in the first place

  • The movie was ok however I did not like the story line . I have 2 problems with the movie.

    1. The Planet Valcan blowing up

2 Spock being in love with Lieutenant Nyota Uhura what is that all about? Nurse Christine Chapel would have been and a better Candidate why didn't they add The Valcan Lieutenant Saavik she would also be a good Candidate. Spock had a sexual relationship with her. I don't understand why that was not thought of.

  • I was SOOOO happy they put in an orion girl. HOWEVER she was NOT anybodys slave. (duh! slave-race!!)

  • Shut up! Star Trek is good! 316 dislikes and rising.

  • I didn´t like the movie too, had probs with the storyline and logicgaps. BUT seriously! Man, you´re NOT funny AT ALL. your crusty-fake laugh is not remotely masking that fact. why do i care to even write a comment? ´cause i felt so ashamed of you, sure thats my problem... just want ya to know... don´t hate ya. just feeling ashamed....

  • yeh there was the moment when he was talking to captain christopher pike and said "im going to destroy earth and all the remainding federation planets so romulus can exist free from the federation" and finally nearly at the end when he has that one perfect finger on the trigger to destroy earth, he turns around and chases spock, i mean what the hell!!, he could destory earth and then chase spock because that would be better, lol he waited for more then twenty years for nothing lol

  • have you tryed drinking diet coke and mentos

  • i personally enjoyed this movie. a good way to bring star trek to the mainstream and to a new generation. i liked bringing back the old spock yet i agree with you about kirk. i thought that he should have been been made captain in another movie. just my thoughts.

  • How did the new Kirk bypass Captain Pike? Pike was in The Menagerie, then Kirk took over. I refuse to watch a movie that rewrites the history.

  • @WingZero75 That was kind of the point of the movie... to rewrite the history so that we get to watch a whole new series of movies in a "new" environment...alternate timeline thing. Not to worry... for us... who know both the old timeline and the new... the old still exists and is just as valid as the new. The new one is going to be fun in a different way. i suppose if you dont like it you can just not watch and stick with the old.. but new can be good to eh!

  • See The Arrivals (arabic) 15 on YouTube

  • mmm....

i noticed a little misaph on the design of the enterprise but i really liked the movie :[

lol yes JJ abrams really DID copy star wars

    which is bad

JJ don't do that in the next movie

next thing you know they'll be pulling out light sabers and trying to destroy the deathstar -_-

  • I am a huge Trek fan, and I have never disagreed with anyone as much as I do with you right now.

  • Where to start... hot as Zoe Saldana might be, she's the one I have the biggest issue with them casting, as she was not familiar with Star Trek, whereas the rest of the cast was primarily consisting of fans, Quinto especially.

  • Where to start... hot as Zoe Saldana might be, she's the one I have the biggest issue with them casting, as she was not familiar with Star Trek, whereas the rest of the cast was primarily consisting of fans, Quinto especially.

  • "Space Tail"??? WTF!!!

Sorry Nerd-man, that was too disrespectful to Zoe Saldana.

  • Wow, I thought that Onion video bit was just being mean...boy you Trekkie bastards really are lame uber-nerds drunk on the smell of your own crap.

  • you're right!!! kirk didn't really saved the day!!! SPOCK DID!!!! hahahahaha xD

and i loooooove how ZQ took spock's character to a whole new level!!!! Love SPOCK and love ZQ!!! LL&P ^^

  • STAR WARS IS WAY BETTER THAN STAR TREK!

  • Okay, first off...

    1. Kirk is a pussy in the original series... hello! :P

    2. OF COURSE SPOCK WAS GONNA SAVE THE DAY! Hello, Nero asploded his entire planet... The whole movie was about Nero trying to get revenge on Spock.

    3. Idk... he looks like Sulu... and he got Takei's go-ahead, so...

    4. ... what are you smoking...? Where did you get Star Wars from that?! In Star Wars, they were not stranded... they had a base on Hoth... and the Wampa monster looked NOTHING like the monster in Star Trek.

  • Remember the end of yesterdays enterprise ?

Shove Nero through the frigging wormhole and fix the frigging continuity and fire Abrams!

This movie is crap, I'll never watch it!

  • Your glasses are crooked...

  • The stupidity of what seemed like a last-minute add on (to make sure we got a sublte "poltically correct" dose of stuidity) of Uhura and Spok being in a relationship. Very, very lame.

  • if you're going to proclaim yourself a nerd, at least learn to do the vulcan salute properly.

  • *giggles* Nice vid, bro. I only had one other real problem with the movie. SpockXUhurra. Where the heck did this come from she flirts with him ONCE is the series and is clearly digging Scotty in the old films. I mean WTF. Other than that I'm good. Live long and prosper, dude. *gives vulcan salute*

    P.S. KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!

  • @Oiyuki

In what episode is Uhura 'digging Scotty" in the original TV series?

If you look at Charlie X amid many other episodes, she is more vibing with Mr. Spock. When she is talking about the 'moon over Vulcan' and the episode when Spock allows the Medusan into him he compliments Uhura on her name origin. Where would the Medusan have gotten that?

They actually paired her in TOS with Kirk more like in Plato's Stepchildren.

  • @crazycoolone As I said it was in the movies that she seemed in to Mr. Scot. I think spock knew her name origin the same way he knows everything else. He's Spock he just does. And they did do the Kirk thing. Which was nifty.

  • Aww...you're a fake nerd. ;_; You didn't even mention the issues with the Stardates, the Spock x Uhura thing or the fact that in order for this alternate timeline to even exist Unification between the Romulans and the Vulcans would have had to have been totally boned by the destruction of Romulaus which would have had to occur in the Prime timeline. :(

  • The first thing I noticed was that Kirk was able to drive a car very well and yet in the series supposedly he never drove a car until much later. Watch, "A Piece of the Action" where Spock tells Kirk he makes a great starship captain but his taxi driving leaves a lot to be desired.

  • I think that rating the Kirk and Spock of today against the Kirk and Spock of STPrime fails to take into account the timeline changes that affected both men as they were growing up. That's why there's a difference between Prime Timeline and Beta Timeline. That was kind of the point of the reboot.

  • star trek sucks....star wars is better...

  • @starwarsagent: So? Who really cares..

  • @starwarsagent Jeez, so you're another one of those assholes. They're different sagas. Don't compare them just because they're both sci-fi with lots of idiotic almost religious fans like you. I love both SW and ST. If you don't like Trek... well simply don't watch related videos.

  • I remember Abrams said he deliberately tried to make the movie more like Star Wars because those movies were exciting where as Trek was more like submarine warfare.

  • Also, I did not understand where the Spock/Uhura came from. I guess anything's possible, but that took me entirely by surprise.

  • Oh fuu-- you did not just...

You spelled 'Khan" incorrectly in the tags.

    SHAME, BOB, SHAME.

    But. Um. Anyway.

Nice video, addressed a lot of things I had some problems with too :) I was a bit confused about John Cho as well. He's a wonderful actor and everything, but I seriously do not see any resemblance between him and Takei. I mean, they're both Asian, but that's about it.

  • Uhura should have been played by Gabriel Union, or somebody like her. Zoe has to be the Flattest assed black woman I have ever seen. Plus they turned Uhura into a slut, who uses emotional black mail to get what she wants... from a (half) Vulcan... was I the only one who notices that?

  • This wasn't Star Trek, it was a Thunderbirds Movie meets The Power Rangers "Cash Cow Remake". Just give the fans lots of special effects and a crappy storyline won't even matter, right J.J. Abramms?!!

What an absolute slap in the face to the history of Star Trek and it's true fan base.

Gene Roddenberry must be rolling over in his grave.

William Shatner was and will always be the "only" Captain James T. Kirk.

  • i really think this guy is not funny at all. and he is clearly trying very hard

  • Not being a fan of ToS or Kirk, I would have to say that I appreciated the reboot taking the character down a notch, despite giving him too much screen time (but I guess having a reboot where you kill off the main character and / or have him never be born, would upset some people). One of the other problematic things in the film is despite the premise of "going back to the beginning" it actually isn't, seeing that most of the other treks time-travelled to the past or were set before the movie.

  • William Shatner was a candian playin an american. I'm sure youve seen the movie again. Still have the same issues? Kirk and Spock saved the day.

  • Comment removed

  • No issue with creating a massive black hole in the atmosphere? Would that not destroy the entire solar system, let alone Earth?

  • @Actionnate1 They warped away before Spock made the black hole. That was his and Kirk's plan from the beginning.

  • @chakorn1 I know that now, however, grant me that destroying Vulcan with Red Matter so close to a planet where Spock can see it with the naked eye, (Larger than our own Moon what if our moon was suddenly a black hole?). And the Enterprise was within transport range at the time. Additionally, Spock planned to use the thing to suck up a supernova or something? How is a black hole any less destructive?Assuming of course that red matter isn't already kinda dumb, but I'll let that slide.

  • Holy crap, I have no idea what to say. uh, I enjoyed it. but honestly, I'm not going to watch the new movie, I am an avid star trek fan, and will not ruin it with whatever that is...

  • Okay.... You need to not be such a spaz.

Actors are cast if they fit the part, not because of their nationality.

This was a younger Kirk and I'm pretty sure he was just used to bar fights up to this point. So he'll get better.

Hate to kill your perception of Spock stealing the film. But he has quite a good reason to play a larger role. Seeing as Nero was responsible for killing his mother. Just enjoy it for what it was, an awesome Trek film. the story wasn't always about Kirk.

  • u r upset that sulu was played by a korean? why aren't u upset that spock was played by a human?

  • I never thought of the Delta Vega being a Empire Strikes Back/Hoth rip off...good point. I thought the use of "green blooded hobgoblin" , "pointy-eared bastard" and all that was awesome. I loved the bit with Kirk eating the apple, but it was put in for different reasons than what we true hardcore fans thought...it was basically for annoyance not tied to the scene in Star Trek 2 (that is much better to me). Loved the Spock/Uhura romance, so in the sequel will we see Kirk/Chapel ???

  • @sparton1199

one word ALTERNATE REALITYS !!!!!! "everything that can happen, does happen in an alternate reality" its a theory thats been around for years and sited in trek on numerous shows across the franchise even in shows like sliders...... so why do people keep saying crap like that. dont worry everything thats in trek has still happened but in an alternate reality.....

  • teaser at the end about Kahn??????????

  • Comment removed

  • The DVD commentary addresses pretty much all of your questions, except for the whole Kirk getting the shit kicked out of him thing (although the bar brawl was four on one). First, the writers said the movie is ultimately about Spock and not entirely Kirk. Second, some of the original meetings for the planning of the film asked "how can we take the seriousness of Trek and inject the excitement of Star Wars." Third, Gene Roddenberry said Sulu was meant to represent all Asians, not just Japanese.

  • i try to forget the hole movie and hope there is no new one like this especialy not this "ive never seen a star Trek Episode" director

  • @derblicker Sorry I cant quite understand what your trying to portray in this post if you could elaborate with better english I would like to respond.

    * ive never seen a star trek episode director - ?????? not sure what you mean here but Jonathan Frakes has directed TNG episodes and films as has Leonard Nimoy. I have also found that if you're going to take the time out to post/leave negative comments on any given subject its only fair to be precise/detailed on faults you believe the subject has

  • @carlostheperv i will say it so the "Ive not seen a star Trek Episode" was ironic.

The fact that the new director called JJ Adrams director of Lost and Mssion Impossible 3 talks from himself he never seen an Episode of Star Trek and he never was a real fan of the series. I ask myself why the give him the job for star trek 11. I never criticiced other things. I think the hole movie plot of star trek 11 was quite bad. Thats all i wated to say. There are more than just some problems with 11.

  • Every sci fi rule of time travel forbids any interference with the past unless it's to restore the future to its previous course. So having Spock just showing up and giving kirk all of the answers not only violated that rule but was just plain lame! I mean, how lazy and inept is that? And Spock who can only allow his emotions to show once every 7 yrs suddenly has the hots for Uhura? Not believable! Abrams clearly doesn't care about true star trek fans! And has no knowledge about real sci fi!!

  • @sallyjosie Idiot. Spock has emotions because vulcan was destroyed. Thats what you call characterization.

This movie grossed higher than any other star trek movie, keep that in mind.

  • @sallyjosie

    Evidently you have no knowledge of the trek universe, it's cannon or it's temperal mechanics. I have listed a few points below in relation to your post;

    1) vulcans HAVE emotions, in fact there emotions are much stronger than humans and are quite volatile and primal in nature, that is why as a civilization they have chosen to surpress there emotions with mental dicipline.

    To be continued......................

  • 2) Spock is half human - therefore he finds it more difficult to surpress his emotions than your average Vulcan with there complex & amazing brains.

    3) you refer to " 7 years " - I can only assume you are refering to pon-far the vulcan male equivilent you could loosley compare to the human female menstral cycle, as such I would assume that you beleave that a human female is only intimate or in fact sexualy active within this cycle ??

    To be continued...................

  • Pon-far is a chemicle imbalance which produces a primal native instinct to procreate it is not related whatsovever with the Vulcan desire for companionship, nevermind a human/Vulcan hi-brid. (almost the entire feature was based on the struggle between spocks emotions and his mental dicipline!!!!, there were numerous references to Vulcan emotions etc....)

    3) To which rules ar you refering ? I can only assume your are implying that the temperal prime directive should apply to future Spock ? TBC

  • Well in this particular instance I do not agree with your findings, Spock did not ireperably change the future, by the time he re-entered normal space Nero had allready ireperably damaged the time line & further more Spock was atempting to limit the affect on the future by only divulging necessary info to stop Nero. Stop me if I'm wrong but he did not divulge technolgy with referenace to temprel trans-phasic torpedos etc.....

  • I am unaware if you are indeed a trek fan although your post does suggest otherwise but I would like to deflect you back to STV and ask if you beleave that admiral janeways actions were a greater or lesser infringement than that of ambassordor Spock ???? Where is the USS relative while all this is a foot ??? LMAO

  • In summary who cares about cannon, temperal mechanics, physics & black hole theorys when this amazing film is on our screens & hopefully with the ability to introduce a whole next generation to the morales and idealism of gene roddenberrys initial vision. This incarnation has breathed life into an enterprise that was in purgatorys shadow at deaths door & I for one am a very happy chappy that trek is still alive, will hopefully outlive me & be something I can pass on proudly to my offspring !

  • *hopefully some true Trekkies will have noticed a few episode titles dropped in the above posts

  • Comment removed

  • in the star trek show in the 1960s or whatever james t kirk had a twin brother who died by some kind of parasite and how the 2009 star trek movie goes is that the mother is already pregnat before the romulan time ship enters thier time frame and by the the time the fed ship was destroyed the mother gave birth only to james t kirk so this is not a true star trek movie but rather a flawed star trek movie and thus not part of the star trek movies or star trek shows what so ever

  • @galdor33 Oh my god, shut up. Just be thankful that Paramount had the stones to pony up 200+ million dollars to ressurect a beloved franchise that was dying (and YES, it was dying). And hey, guess what? It worked. Big time. So until you write a screenplay that Paramount wouldn't laugh at and throw away after page six, I suggest you keep your petty gripes about trivial bullshit to yourself and enjoy the fact that Trek is alive again. Making successful movies is about more than just pleasing you.

  • i hate you. like the movie any way

  • @TheNoerdin I heart you.

  • @bobjenz Hahaha owned. Nice one... Ummm bob? lol, anyway, i love your vids.

  • @bobjenz Khan nunian PEX, isn't it????

  • @TheNoerdin Star Trek 2009 Mistakes that made it worst film ever !

1 - Enterprise buided in ground - Totaly insane

2 - The man who would be exiled from starfleet turns into captain in one day

3 - They jump from ship to planet and do not burn entering atmosphere

4 - Parachutes returning to bags after used - Unbelieveble !

5 - Nero spend 25 Years on 23rd century and did nothing !

To our very good look The old Spock knows to travel in time and can destroy that shit

  • @marcioguimaraens Wow, "worst film *ever*"?!? I'm guessing you've seen perhaps, ONE film in your lifetime?

#1, 3 & 4: OMG, "Unbelieveble" futuristic things happening in a Sci-Fi based in... The Future! So building the Enterprise in an area where it's not suppose to operate is as crazy as building a Ship in a... Dry Dock. Nuts. And you do know parachutes since forever have been repacked... this just automated the process.

Last Line: Do you speak English... and maybe a touch Retarded?

  • @scarred2112 C´mon man don´t be stupid, i´ve seen so many good films that your lack of sense could not be even near ir. I will not discuss the construction, only COMPLETE DUMMIES could defend that position. so i´m sorry yo´re that kind of people. About the parachute, the air is pulling the parachute, it could not close without take the guy away, so semms that the stupid is YOU. Your opinion about my English made me cry os sadness.....

  • @marcioguimaraens lol......builded.....

  • @legoindyshortround Thanks BRO ! without your help NOBODY would understand !

  • I like ya. Keep up the good work. 43000 views. Thats the size of an entire college football stadium all watching you! NIce job

  • this guy is creepy

  • Very good points. Though I should point out in TOS Kirk did get his ass kicked A LOT and Spock did save him a fair few times.

    Just to be fair.

Ice planets are over done in EVERY MOVIE.

What is your oppion on the whole Spock/Uhura thing? I loved the casting but pairing them together just kind of ruined the movie for me...

  • agreed

  • The only problem I had however, was the fact that it WAS Spock who saved Earth and blew up the Narada, not Kirk. Kirk was either getting his ass kicked the whole time or saving Pike. Okay, important but, um, blowing up the driving that's about the destroy earth or saving Pike? Survery says....

Another issue I had was everyone's complaints about the Spock/Uhura relationship. If trekkies did their research, they would find that there was nothing wrong with it and actually perfectly logical.

  • well... and ice planet... what other livable planets could there be with extreme conditions?

    - a desert? no, that was Star Wars I & IV

    - a jungle-like forest? no, that was Star Wars VI

    - a planet like a large city? no, that was Star Wars...

Maybe they should have a planet completely in the dark... or one so croiwded with people... no, Star Trek did that one before too.

  • Simon Pegg is English, yet plays a Scotish character. Karl Urban is from New Zealand and plays an American character. Zoe Saldana is American, yet plays a Bantu. And Zachary Quinto is American, yet plays an alien. Why do Sulu's and Cho's nationalities matter so much?

  • @MrSoup6 Good point :)

  • @MrSoup6 Good point, I agree :)

  • @MrSoup6 Good point, I agree :)

Really disappointing movie anyway, except for Zachary Quinto, he really was in the right place I think.

  • @MrSoup6 John Cho actually wrote a letter to George Takei asking him about this Korean/Japanese issue. Mr Takei's response was that the character represents the advancements and achievements of all Asians, regardless of country. So Cho took the role with the blessings of his predecessor.

  • @MrSoup6 It's not Simon Pegg... It's Shaun of the Dead!! Sheesh. =P

  • @MrSoup6 I don't have a problem with the nationality so much as not seeing much of a resemblance between Cho and Takei. Cho's still a great actor, but I did a double-take when they introduced him, like, "wait, what? That's Sulu?!"

  • @MrSoup6 I had more of a problem with the fact that I see Cho and I expect him to be funny. I met the real life sulu, he's a pretty tame guy

  • @annihilus2 You "met the REAL LIFE SULU". Umm... wow?

  • I wanted to like this movie, I really really did. No one carries a torch for trek like me and bobby jenz. BUT, the star wars injected crap just blows and not in a good way. The ship redesign was awful and cannot even hold a candle to the motion picture heavy cruiser. Uhura on the other hand kept my attention in every scene and the new spock was fantastic. All in all, 2 out of 5 stars for Trek '09.

  • @carnivalofsouls2047 NuSpock sucked. The character's appeal was in his inner conflict. In NuTrek he doesn't have a conflict between his emotions and logic. He freely displays emotion. Typical character now, nothing unique, cerebral or interesting anymore. NuSpock is just like the other humans except he has pointed ears and raised brows.
